got honked at too. But finally found some kind folks when I turned onto a one way street the wrong way. No one honked just let me quietly back out
so yesterday I found the dismal nitch. So interesting. When Lewis and Clark reached the coast there was a fierce storm. And for six days they huddled in a nitch on the north coast unable to leave. Indians came and sold them fish which kept them alive
can you imagine being so miserable at the end of the journey finally able to cross the incredibly wide mouth of the river to the other side and set up a winter camp.
We are without power since the night before last. A tree came down and took out the lines between our pole and the one the road. It has been laying there on the road and in our yard since. Lots of outages. This company had over 12,000, so it may take a while to get fixed. Ours was the only one from that night. There was another fierce storm last night and a whole road near us went down. Lots and lots of trees on all the roads around her are down.
I forgot the best part. The neighbors came (they still have power) and hooked up one of their generators to run a few things last night. This morning they returned to hook up our fridge and freezer. Feeling very blessed.
Drove straight through to get home. Got in around 10 last night… good to be home. Colorado is on fire and the smoke is thick…so much devastation. Hot and windy here😢
My most recent ‘blind humor’ incident. In this ICU room there is a toilet and I was looking for kleenex and spotted what I thought was toilet paper. It was actually a plastic portable urinal when I got close enough to see it. I told Art I could use it to blow my nose but thankfully I found the real toilet paper ( I had thought the urinal was a roll of toilet paperon top of the hand rail with a portion of the paper hanging down). Oh, the many things that I get amusement out of by thinking they are what they are not.
Good morning! The house feels chilly this morning since I am getting used to the hotter weather of these days.

That’s a lot of weather reports. It feels cold in ICU. Bro freezes after dialysis so keeps asking for more blankets 🙂

I enjoyed hearing about the dismal niche., Jo, and read what you wrote to Art.
Bro is pretty sick with several factors at work but PA expects him to pull out of it. Still waiting on some tests and results.

time to head back to my quiet home. Right now I’m next to a freeway and can hear every truck
couldn’t go visit an older friend but I called her from the hotel and we had a good visit
when asked at the hotel if I was a AAA member or anything I said I was a missionary and got the discount
