It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget to pray for The Gambia.
Also, prayers for Kizzie for a speedy recovery.
Anyone else have something to share?
Psalm 49
A psalm.
1 Hear this, all you peoples;
listen, all who live in this world,
2 both low and high,
rich and poor alike:
3 My mouth will speak words of wisdom;
the meditation of my heart will give you understanding.
4 I will turn my ear to a proverb;
with the harp I will expound my riddle:
5 Why should I fear when evil days come,
when wicked deceivers surround me—
6 those who trust in their wealth
and boast of their great riches?
7 No one can redeem the life of another
or give to God a ransom for them—
8 the ransom for a life is costly,
no payment is ever enough—
9 so that they should live on forever
and not see decay.
10 For all can see that the wise die,
that the foolish and the senseless also perish,
leaving their wealth to others.
11 Their tombs will remain their houses forever,
their dwellings for endless generations,
though they had named lands after themselves.
12 People, despite their wealth, do not endure;
they are like the beasts that perish.
13 This is the fate of those who trust in themselves,
and of their followers, who approve their sayings.
14 They are like sheep and are destined to die;
death will be their shepherd
(but the upright will prevail over them in the morning).
Their forms will decay in the grave,
far from their princely mansions.
15 But God will redeem me from the realm of the dead;
he will surely take me to himself.
16 Do not be overawed when others grow rich,
when the splendor of their houses increases;
17 for they will take nothing with them when they die,
their splendor will not descend with them.
18 Though while they live they count themselves blessed—
and people praise you when you prosper—
19 they will join those who have gone before them,
who will never again see the light of life.
20 People who have wealth but lack understanding
are like the beasts that perish.
Praying for Janice and Art this morning.

Thanks, y’all. Bro and Art are on their way.
Having the Zoom Bible study from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. wears me out from having to sit there for that long on Tues evening. I hope I will feel better more up for it by next week. Miss Bosley has boarding extended until Sat. She’s never boarded this long.😥

Hazel’s family is back from Europe and mom is now undergoing inflation shock after living in a third-world country for six weeks. Hazel’s got an appointment on Friday. The ill teenager sees the doctor today.
Husband, it turns out, needs to find a job pronto.

Thanks for praying for Art and us today. He had excellent results. No polyps and return in ten years but not necessary at the age he will be then. PTL for this smaller procedure outcome. The tremendous hurdle will be next week.

Spoke to the scheduler a few minutes ago.
They wanted to do it the surgery the week before the wedding, but based on the way the last went, I said no. I’m not taking the chance something could go sideways and it screws up the wedding. They were going to make it Oct 21st but at a different hospital further away. Then they had a cancelation so they bumped me to the 7th.
So surgery will be Oct 7th, 30 days to heal, and then 6 weeks of chemo.
Chemo just in time for the holidays. Yay.

Plus I was not ready for much a week after the first surgery. I can’t imagine getting everything done and functioning as I will need to.

I’m glad they were able to work around the wedding AJ. We will be praying for you the whole way through it all.

Prayers, AJ — that’s a lot to juggle, all important, sounds like you have a workable plan going forward. (And no, a week after any surgery is probably not ideal.) I’m sorry, though, about chemo presumably coming at the holidays.

meaning the wedding a week after surgery … glad you were able to arrange that otherwise.

AJ, I got tears thinking about it. But glad the scheduling is working out for the better.
I have not really cried over my situation. I just got my confirmation for my next appointment when I will get results I probably won’t like. I hate that we get that two days before Art’s surgery. I am very thankful that my Bible study on A Woman of Simplicity talked about living in the moment and not borrowing troubles from the future for today.
One of my Bible study ladies just brought a wonderful meal, fresh broiled salmon, a mix of fresh sugar snap peas and asparagus, rice, peaches and pineapple . . . all so good! Praising God for such kind friends from my former church.

This morning we got a call that my SIL would be moving from the hospital to an assisted living facility. The doctor said her last year was quite rough on her body and the next year would be too. Just now we got word she has passed away. Her daughter was with her when she had a heart attack.

Today has not been a great day, as it has been worse than yesterday. I’ve had the chills and been feverish on and off, and am very achy, as well as the cough and runny nose. Hoping for a better day tomorrow, and that I can get to sleep at a decent time tonight. (Last night, with the coughing and trouble getting comfortable, I couldn’t get to sleep until after midnight.)
A little while ago, Chickadee replied to my text informing her of having Covid. She sounds very concerned, and included this: “You’re not allowed to die!!!!”
With the fifth anniversary of Hubby’s death coming up on October 2, I’m sure that that is playing into her concern. Please pray for her to turn her heart and her worries to God. Thank you.
