Let’s continue lifting the Shull family in prayer.
Tychicus too.
Also, it’s Wednesday, so don’t forget Ajissun and the folks in The Gambia.
Anyone else?
Psalm 49
A psalm.
1 Hear this, all you peoples;
listen, all who live in this world,
2 both low and high,
rich and poor alike:
3 My mouth will speak words of wisdom;
the meditation of my heart will give you understanding.
4 I will turn my ear to a proverb;
with the harp I will expound my riddle:
5 Why should I fear when evil days come,
when wicked deceivers surround me—
6 those who trust in their wealth
and boast of their great riches?
7 No one can redeem the life of another
or give to God a ransom for them—
8 the ransom for a life is costly,
no payment is ever enough—
9 so that they should live on forever
and not see decay.
10 For all can see that the wise die,
that the foolish and the senseless also perish,
leaving their wealth to others.
11 Their tombs will remain their houses forever,
their dwellings for endless generations,
though they had named lands after themselves.
12 People, despite their wealth, do not endure;
they are like the beasts that perish.
13 This is the fate of those who trust in themselves,
and of their followers, who approve their sayings.
14 They are like sheep and are destined to die;
death will be their shepherd
(but the upright will prevail over them in the morning).
Their forms will decay in the grave,
far from their princely mansions.
15 But God will redeem me from the realm of the dead;
he will surely take me to himself.
16 Do not be overawed when others grow rich,
when the splendor of their houses increases;
17 for they will take nothing with them when they die,
their splendor will not descend with them.
18 Though while they live they count themselves blessed—
and people praise you when you prosper—
19 they will join those who have gone before them,
who will never again see the light of life.
20 People who have wealth but lack understanding
are like the beasts that perish.
I’ve had problems with a slightly painful, watery eye for four days. I think it’s a reaction to makeup I wore on Saturday, as I’ve experienced irritation before after the few times I wore eye makeup. That usually clears up after a day, though, so I’m not sure why the problem is lingering so much longer this time.
Prayers for it to resolve. Today I’m going to be on the road, round trip, three different times, and it worsens when I’m in direct sunlight or the sun is coming through the windshield. Hard to keep that eye open at all while driving on these lovely sunny days we’ve had lately.
Thanks.

Praying, Six! I empathize on eye problems all too easily. A reminder to pray for my own eyes as well♡

Last night I was notified that a “girl” I was in Rainbow with lost a child Saturday night. She was 26 years old and involved in a traffic accident. The three vehicles involved caught fire. It took a while for the police to identify her and find her family. She was 26. It’s just awful when something like that happens but it makes it more real when it happens to someone you know.
Please pray for her parents and all who loved her.

How tragic, Kim.
Heavenly Father,
You know the depth of pain in this situation and the crushing hurt it is causing for those who loved this young lady. They are probably rehashing thoughts, imaginings of final moments along with dashed hopes for a wonderful future. Please ease each hurting one to turn their swirling thoughts over to You. I know You care more than anyone about how they who loved her are hurting. This is a major troubling time, Lord, and You are the God who rescues people in trouble times. Please help relieve them, comfort them, and though they will never understand, lift them out of despair to a never before known plateau of peaceful acceptance of this tremendous loss. Please show them how You can make something good out of even the horrific. May You be glorified through how You can do more than we can think or imagine from the crushings in life. Just a miraculous comforting and softening of raw nerves is enogh for starters, Lord.
I pray in Jesus’ name,
Amen
