Prayer Requests 8-19-14

Anyone care to share a request or praise?

Psalm 50

¹The mighty God, even the Lord, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.

Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.

Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.

He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.

Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.

And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah.

Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God.

I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me.

I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds.

10 For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.

11 I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.

12 If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.

13 Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?

14 Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High:

15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

16 But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth?

17 Seeing thou hatest instruction, and casteth my words behind thee.

18 When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers.

19 Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit.

20 Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother’s son.

21 These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.

22 Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.

23 Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.

  1. Jo posted this earlier on yesterdays thread because this one wasn’t up yet. I didn’t want anyone to miss it, so I’m moving it here.

    From Jo,

“Hoping that someone sees this as I can’t stay up any longer. On my right side from my lower back to my knee, I am in a lot of pain. Don’t know what I did, just pray that the pain will ease.”

  3. yes, Mumsee, that is me in the picture. It’s on a lake just about a mile north of our place. We got our canoe on kijiji for very, very cheap. It’s ugly and ungainly but we have so much fun in it.

  4. Heavenly Father,

It has been a blessings kind of day. Some days we just recognize them more than other days. Are we just blind some days and our eyes are wide open to take in blessings other days? I thank You for the little niceties you put into our lives like seeing the school bus stopped a little bit ago which caused four lanes of traffic to stop. You knew I was feeling impatient and wondering after the bus unloaded why did the bus just keep staying there and not moving on. Then the little one appeared. The one who lagged behind the big kids. Probably the first time to use the school bus this week or maybe ever. You knew what the wait was about even though four lanes of traffic were wondering. Thank You for being the kind of God who waits on His children if need be. Thank You for that reminder today. Jesus is the One Who goes after that one lost sheep. Please consider that some on this blog have children who are lagging behind in accepting Jesus. Please help them hurry up and run to their Savior.

Lord, Jo’s having some more physical pain. You know the source, and how much she needs to be feeling tops to meet the challenges of her calling. Please show her what to do to give relief to her aching leg from the back to the knee. It sounds similar to what I have suffered. It really, really hurts. Please make a way of repair or for whatever joint is out of place to get back in place. There are no mystery pains to You, Lord. I do thank You that You helped get rid of the rash Jo has suffered with. Is this related? Please do be a comfort to her through this new ordeal. Thank You that You are there with her. Please bless the quints, too. Also, may Jo be able to feel up to teaching through the pain. May the children distract her from concentrating on the pain. Thank You that it isn’t any worse. Please provide nutritional supplimentation if that is needed. You know best, and she is in Your good care.

Lord, I pray for Mumsee as she is dealing with the difficulties of the ones in her care. Help her to cope when she feels she is at the end of her rope. Please put help into place until she is able to have her husband back home. Please continue to work out the medical situation that Mike has so that he can feel the best possible and up to helping Mumsee, full speed and without hesitation. I pray solutions can be found to emotional problems in the Nest that spill over to affect others in the household. They need Your assistance ASAP. Please do not delay in being their help in trouble times. Thank You for the many resources You pull from to meet their needs, Jehovah Jireh.

Please bless all those on the website who have needs today. I wrote that and realized how silly it is to say that! We all have needs that only You can supply!! Thank You for all You are doing in our lives every moment. In Jesus’ name, Amen

  5. thanks for prayers to get me through the night. and now the day. I am trying to remember if I fell as that is where my knee is hurting. Should I drive or walk to school? The car is low and hard to get into, but with the rain we had last night, the roads will be a mess!

  6. Praise report: I got the job at Camp Kadesh (.com, if anyone is interested). I am so looking forward to being a part of this ministry and supporting those who are working with the children.

  7. Prayers for the friends, colleagues & family of journalist James Foley who is believed to be the American who was beheaded in that ISIS video released today (with another journalist being held under threat of the same, they claim).

I won’t watch the video but did read that the hooded man who beheads him spoke with an English accent. Monsters.

As someone said on twitter, this is “evil straight from the pits of hell’
