Prayer Requests 7-10-14

Anyone have a request or praise to share today?

And it’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo and the folks in PNG.

Psalm 13

¹How long wilt thou forget me, O Lord? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?

How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?

Consider and hear me, O Lord my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;

Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.

But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

  1. Prayer please for one of the seventeen year olds. He is going in to have his wisdom teeth removed. We got a phone call a couple of days ago saying it had to be done for him to attend the youth challenge, Husband called and made the arrangements from Canada. So off we go. Prayer for the patient and the oral surgeon.

  2. Heavenly Father,

Thank You for unexpected blessings when things seem to be going wrong such as with the flat tire. You do know how to turn bad to good in little and BIG ways. Thank You, thank You!

Please be with the oral surgeon and the young man under Mumsee’s care as he has the wisdom teeth removed. May it be a smooth removal and involving little pain afterwards. Thank You that we have oral surgeons who are skilled at these helpful procedures that keep people from greater pains and complications down the line. Please also bless Mike as he tries to care for his family from afar. Love abounds in their family whether all are in close proximity or at a distance. Hearts seem to grow fonder in either case. Your sweetness is apparant in their lives and calling.

Lord, please bless Lee this day with strength to see him through his struggles to the other side where Your blessings can be finally realized. Help him to remain faithful even when tiredness from long hours and burdensome work seems to get the best of him. Lift him out of any despair and depression that tries to bring him down. Please help Karen as she tries to be a sturdy support for all the members of her family. Please continue to bless Emily as she makes her way to her goal for completion of her course of study that will lead to excellent job opportunities. I ask blessings to be upon the other daughter as well as she moves toward maturity. Please help both daughters to have experiences to draw them closer to You and Jesus. Holy Spirit, please be a great influence for good in their lives. Thank You for their current experiences in the realm of unbelief that will help them to better connect for Your sake with other unbelievers in the future when they can be a witness of the difference You have made in their lives and the lives of their parents. I feel Your purposes will be revealed in time as to why You let them linger in this stage of unbelief. It pains Karen and Lee, but over time I am hopeful they will have joy to see their daughters both become strong in Christian faith. Work all for good in their lives, I pray, humbly in the name of Jesus, for it is only through His name that such great things can be accomplished.

O, please, Lord, bless the recovery of Shane today. Strengthen him. Bless him to the extent that the hospital staff will recognize Your hand upon him in his quick recovery. You are the giver of all good gifts. I ask the quick recovery to be a good gift for Shane today.

    In Jesus’ name,
    Amen

  3. I am about to come unglued. The buyer on the house cancelled the inspection on Tuesday because she wanted the house to herself. Paul was unable/unwilling to leave. Now she wants to wait and have the house totally vacant and us moved out before doing the inspection. I have been single and moved quite a bit over the last 10 years, but I it has always been at my discretion NOT being forced out. I just want to either walk away from everything I own or find a place to put my burdens down and be done with it.

  4. I don’t understand why it would make a difference for you to be there, Kim, or Paul. My husband and I happened to be staying with our daughter when her town house apartment was inspected. She was a renter, but had to be gone. We were watching a grandchild. The inspector just did his job. The owner came and sat in the kitchen with me while the process took place. No problem.

  5. The former owners were still living in my house when I bought it from them — it was a little harder to poke around, you felt intimidated going into rooms & closets still being occupied, but it’s not unusual for buyers to have to work around that.

  6. But they’re renters. I’d like to have the renters there to tell me everything wrong with the house. That’s probably the reporter in me, but why not get free information and insight? I also ask about the neighborhood, the best dentist, where the library is and so forth.

  7. The rest of the story is that P has some heavy duty pain meds. Narcotics. He doesn’t even like for BG to be here alone. He also wouldn’t want to be caught driving around with them.

  8. Kim, I’m not sure I’d post that on the internet.

But honestly, the house won’t be hers until after the inspection, and the reason you are moving out is that she is buying it. So I don’t see how she has a leg to stand on here.

  10. The doctor in Canada does not believe husband has rheumatoid arthritis, he is working on a different angle. Not sure what it is but fairly certain it is not rheumatoid arthritis. He wants husband off of all his pain meds and steroids so he can see the pain unmasked. Should be a rough couple of weeks for him.

  11. Thank you, Janice, for including us in your prayer. It was an encouragement to me. I copied & pasted it into an email to Lee.

Prayers for all the above. My heart goes out to all of you.

  12. No word on Shane today, though Mom is posting random things on FB. That happens when you’re overwhelmed. In other news, my soccer star nephew broke his left ring finger and now is out for at least eight weeks; no surgery required, but we’re all feeling very sad about it. He, will, however, get to spend more time with his adorable little baby girl.
