  1. Good morning to all. We are back in the freezer today. I am bummed I didn’t get out and try to get ice off the sidewalk yesterday. I didn’t remember to do that until it was dark already. It is so easy to slip and fall when you have ice covered by snow. How grateful I am for a cozy house and a car with a heater on these cold winter days. Imagine what it was like with a horse and buggy!

I am sorry for those who try to live outside in this weather. Yes, we do have those people. They are usually known, not only by law enforcement, but others. They resist help for whatever reason. All kinds of help is available.

I suppose there is a spiritual lesson there. How often do we resist the true help God offers because we just want what we want or because the evil one has put shutters on our eyes and ears? Prayers for eyes to see, ears to hear and hearts to receive for the stranger and for us and our loved ones.

  2. Excellent prayer to start the day, Kathaleena.

We are at 48° this morning so it feels like January in Atlanta. Since I am not getting out and walking, I feel colder than when I get more exercise. I hope soon to get moving around more.

My lab work showed low sodium so I will start adding more salt to my diet. I like salt on some things, but prefer many things unsalted so I can taste the true flavors of the food.

This morning for some reason I remembered when permanent press fabrics came out that my eyes would burn horribly from the fumes when I went into a fabric store with my mom. Over time that no longer happened. I wonder what they did to get rid of that problem or did we just get used to it?

  3. I am amazed at the no-iron needed cottons we can buy today. There is a vast improvement for sure.

Salt is meant to actually bring out the true flavor of foods. If you taste the salt, it is too much. I love salt myself. I probably use less on foods I cook, however, than some people like. Watching cooking shows I am amazed at how much salt ‘experts’ consider necessary. All things in moderation is my motto.
