Storms moved through in the middle of the night leaving inches of hail for the lower Black Forest area…we got the downpour, thunder and crazy lightning!
Good morning! We had stormy weather yesterday and more is forcast for later today. Pray for us all as storms in the natural realm coincide with the stormy political climate.
My online Bible study in the book of Haggai this morning was good. Several of the ladies make comments. Another lady and I posting at the same time, both were reminded of the verse, Matthew 6:33, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
Well. We get weather where we are now. Oh and how the wind blows the rain.
I am choosing to laugh at my husband rather than bop him on the head.
He has cleaned out the garage (somewhat) and taken one load to the dump. Yesterday he filled up the truck bed again and will take it to the dump.
Now, why that couldn’t happen before we moved it is a mystery to me. Progress. And he is so cute when he brings a “treasure” into the house and there is no place to put it.
And yes, I still have my two Christmas 🎄 and all my decorations. I got rid of some things before we moved and will have to cull as I unpack it all this Christmas.
Both mothers China and “Aunt Mary Nell’s that belonged to my friend’s husband’s little old maid aunt is all still packed along with all the Rosepoint
Much better to choose to laugh than cry or worse. 😉 Nothing like a move and many other experiences to show us how differently men and women think. Of course, there are also variations in personality that have nothing whatsoever to do with gender differences. Praying your new home is a place of much laughter and joy.
Good morning, all. A beautiful Irish morning here. I have never been to Ireland but it is how I envision it. Damp, foggy, cool but not cold, birds singing. Just beautiful.
It is predicted to cool down this week just in time for the county fair. I decided to not go on the first day as it is mobbed with families taking kids on the rides. So we stand around and watch them. An aunt, other grandma and mom will be enough
I just saw a post on Facebook that my pastor’s family had to take their two elderly dashounds, one 16, other 17, to the vet’s to put them to rest. I felt doubly sad thinking of Dj, too.
I put in a busy weekend with cleaning, watering — and more cleaning.
And now it’s Monday. Sigh.
I’m incorporating some training now in my walks with Abby, things the trainer talked to me about when she came by Friday evening for our appointment.
“Paws up!” (at every curb or if I sit near some outdoor stairs and she puts her two paws up on a stair for a treat); “check” (look at me) — and on the way back, I open the back door of the Jeep, put a yummy treat on the floor ridge for her to eat, and back home we go.
Oh, I’m so sorry to hear about your pastor’s family dogs, Janice, that was so hard when I went through that with both of mine, only 2 weeks apart.
I still mourn those two and I know that losing them so close together (after also having them for so long a time) added to that grief. I’ve had to say goodbye to a lot of well-loved pets through the years, but those were especially hard.
I felt so sorry for that little dog in that video, and almost started to cry as he spun himself in circles in his confusion!
And I am so sorry for your pastor’s family, Janice. 😦
Speaking of dogs. . .Last night on Facebook, I saw (and donated to and shared) a Go-Fund-Me shared by my cousin. (The one who made it is related to her by marriage, so it wasn’t merely a random person.) An elderly lady, a former nurse, has depleted her savings paying for the home care help she needs, and now she may have to go into a nursing home, and lose her beloved dog. The post said that when she had been hospitalized at some point, both she and the dog grew depressed. 😦
This would sadden me anyway, but with my own situation here with Heidi, it breaks my heart. I would be devastated not being able to be with Heidi for the rest of her life, and I know that she wouldn’t do well without me. Not to mention that I would miss her sweet companionship. (As she has grown old, she has grown even more attached to me. When I was in the hospital for a couple days and nights having my gallbladder out, Emily said that Heidi would stare at the door, waiting for me, and “cry”. )
Sadly, I seriously doubt that they will be able to raise the amount of money they are trying for, unless the post “goes viral”. (And I prayed that it would.)
Sandy and Buddy are a cute pair, Kizzie. That is very sad, indeed.
I ran into someone at Publix this afternoon who I know from two churches ago. She had a lot of things in her cart and knowing she is single I asked if she might be shopping for others like an Instacart shopper. She pointed to thr piles of popcorn and othrr things that I had not seen in detail until I got that close. She explained she was shopping for the squirrels and birds. She also told me that squirrels eat coleus plants. I had no idea about that.
It’s way too hot, 90s but feels like triple digits. The expected storm should cool things down, but oh what we have to go through for that cooling.
Janice – We are expecting showers and thunderstorms, too, tonight and tomorrow. Although the temperature right now is only 69 degrees (expected to go up to 72 before going down again this evening), the humidity is 94%, which is why I have AC on despite the lower temp.
Also because I have my ladies meeting at church this evening, and don’t want to feel “dewy” before that. 🙂
My weather app shows 90° and raining, but the rain is not over us for the moment. It sounds like the thunder has passed, but I expect that was a teaser before it gets worse.
This Beast that has taken over our home needs some training. I keep telling her other human that when Little Miss goes to school they need to go to some training as well.
She’s cute, but she is Larger than Life in her head.
The weather teased and pretended and then the real storm came. I opened the door and acted like I was going to make Miss Bosley go out the door like she often tries to do without a pinch of help. She shuttered and backed away shaking her fur as if it had gotten wet. The first storm has gone to other parts leaving dark gray skies. I hope that was all but have my doubts. I hate to start cooking and have to shut it down part way through.
Janice – Since Nightingale and Boy returned yesterday, I have not been dealing with Janie, but I do know that she had at least one accident on the tile floor today.
Morning!
Are those black swans up there?

Now if I were slightly short sighted and I lived in Scotland, I might think that was the Loch Ness monster in that photo.

M,
The Loch Ness Monster, and I got a baby dragon last week too.
Now I just need Bigfoot and I’ll have the Big 3.

A third lady in the online group thought of the same NT Bible verse on her own so we are all in alignment. So cool when God does things like that

The book, Remnants, by Stan Poel, is free for Kindle at Amazon. It sounds good.

No rain here, but we’re on a cooling trend with our marine layer returning.
Mid-70s most of this week, yay. So far … we’ve had a very mild summer when it comes to the worst of the heat.
