Prayer Requests 11-9-22

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget to pray for The Gambia.

Anyone else have something to share?

Psalm 112

Praise the Lord.

   Blessed are those who fear the Lord,
    who find great delight in his commands.

Their children will be mighty in the land;
    the generation of the upright will be blessed.
Wealth and riches are in their houses,
    and their righteousness endures forever.
Even in darkness light dawns for the upright,
    for those who are gracious and compassionate and righteous.
Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely,
    who conduct their affairs with justice.

Surely the righteous will never be shaken;
    they will be remembered forever.
They will have no fear of bad news;
    their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.
Their hearts are secure, they will have no fear;
    in the end they will look in triumph on their foes.
They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor,
    their righteousness endures forever;
    their horn will be lifted high in honor.

10 The wicked will see and be vexed,
    they will gnash their teeth and waste away;
    the longings of the wicked will come to nothing.

  1. Praise to God for the birth of Harper. Praise to God for mumsee’s answer for the phone and keys. Praise for His patience and goodness in oh, so many ways!

    Prayers for AJ and Janice through all your difficult health issues right now. Just the diagnosis is frightening and life changing, let alone all the decisions and things that must be done. Prayers for wisdom, healing and peace.

    Prayers for Kizzie’s family and all they are going through. Especially for the judge, lawyers and others involved in this new petition. Peace for Kizzie and Forest and for Nightingale’s and Forest’s eyes to be open to see the truth about our wonderful and necessary Savior.

    Prayer’s for mumsee’s many decisions and activities in helping other family members.

    Prayers for wisdom and good for in the all the fellowship of the blog.

    Prayers it will all lead to even more glory and praise to our wonderful, glorious, loving God, through whom all that is good and beautiful comes.

  2. Today we learn if grandpa in Florida is getting signed into a nursing home or if husband will be driving him home to live with us. Wisdom.

    Prayer for grandma in Florida, who claims to be a Christian but seems to be living in fear of everybody, leading to some rather irrational decisions.

  3. Mumsee – That behavior can also be a sign of dementia, or something similar, not necessarily a matter of faith. (But of course, I don’t know the situation.)

    Kathaleena – Thank you for your prayer.

    I haven’t heard anything yet, but don’t know when the court hearing (via a Zoom-type thing) will take place.

  4. X can have supervised visitation with Boy at her discretion.

    Thanking and praising God! It has been nine long years of various court hearings and custody agreements, and now Nightingale finally has sole custody.

    (It was eleven years ago, shortly before Boy’s first birthday, that she left X, but they didn’t get lawyers involved and go to court for the first couple years, until X crossed a line and then Nightingale knew she had to get a lawyer and fight for custody.)

  5. Such good news, Kizzie, all the way around.

    So this is a permanent ruling? Though I guess he could challenge it, but I’m guessing he wouldn’t have much to stand on.

  6. Yes, this is being referred to as the final ruling.

    It turns out that it was an in-person hearing after all, but Nightingale was able to make it there from work, as it’s in the same town she works in. And X didn’t show up. (Although he may still be in a hospital. We’re not sure.)

    He can probably file other petitions in the future, but his record will work against him.

  7. Whew! So glad the damage wasn’t worse, kare!!

    That is wonderful news, Kizzie. Sad for Forest to have such a difficult situation with his father, of course. Praying he has good role models in the men in his life, whether in school or sports etc.
