Prayer Requests 10-27-22

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her former students, and the people of PNG.

Anyone else?

Psalm 96

Sing to the Lord a new song;
    sing to the Lord, all the earth.
Sing to the Lord, praise his name;
    proclaim his salvation day after day.
Declare his glory among the nations,
    his marvelous deeds among all peoples.

For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise;
    he is to be feared above all gods.
For all the gods of the nations are idols,
    but the Lord made the heavens.
Splendor and majesty are before him;
    strength and glory are in his sanctuary.

Ascribe to the Lord, all you families of nations,
    ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;
    bring an offering and come into his courts.
Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness;
    tremble before him, all the earth.
10 Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns.”
    The world is firmly established, it cannot be moved;
    he will judge the peoples with equity.

11 Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad;
    let the sea resound, and all that is in it.
12 Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them;
    let all the trees of the forest sing for joy.
13 Let all creation rejoice before the Lord, for he comes,
    he comes to judge the earth.
   He will judge the world in righteousness
    and the peoples in his faithfulness.

  1. Home again home again, jiggety jig.

    Step mom had her staples removed yesterday morning. (I offered to do it in the garage with pliers but she opted for a ride to the hospital.) In the afternoon I feared a stroke as she woke from her nap making inarticulate noises. But she cleared enough to have a discussion about how upset mother in law would be to know who is running the farm now and asked my dad if he ever discussed it with her. She thought she was talking with her last husband.

    My dad is doing well. We are working on getting him to clean up his eating to help with diverticulitis. I printed off some Mayo Clinic info, his source of truth. (But I have been eating this way for fifty years!)

    Mike’s dad is deteriorating very rapidly. Step mom in law gave Mike permission to bring his dad here for three weeks and then bring him back. A long flight or drive for a ninety six year old which he will be in a week. Mike is thinking of just staying there for the duration.

    Step mom in law is still losing weight, though the oncologist called her clear. Perhaps the stress? Hopefully, knowing Mike will stay to help will relieve that and get her back on her feet.

    You asked.

  2. That’s a lot. Praying. Is there a medical van transport that would at all be affordable? (I’m guessing not, but maybe a non-stop drive-through w/medical oversight?)

    Re the staple removal service w/pliers in the garage/barn: Only at mumsee’s, a full-service provider.
