Prayer Requests 10-15-22

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 85

For the director of music. Of the Sons of Korah. A psalm.

You, Lord, showed favor to your land;
    you restored the fortunes of Jacob.
You forgave the iniquity of your people
    and covered all their sins.
You set aside all your wrath
    and turned from your fierce anger.

Restore us again, God our Savior,
    and put away your displeasure toward us.
Will you be angry with us forever?
    Will you prolong your anger through all generations?
Will you not revive us again,
    that your people may rejoice in you?
Show us your unfailing love, Lord,
    and grant us your salvation.

I will listen to what God the Lord says;
    he promises peace to his people, his faithful servants—
    but let them not turn to folly.
Surely his salvation is near those who fear him,
    that his glory may dwell in our land.

10 Love and faithfulness meet together;
    righteousness and peace kiss each other.
11 Faithfulness springs forth from the earth,
    and righteousness looks down from heaven.
12 The Lord will indeed give what is good,
    and our land will yield its harvest.
13 Righteousness goes before him
    and prepares the way for his steps.

  1. Each year around this time, my neighbor Dee (who identifies as a witch) and our neighbor across the street (G’s Mom) go up to Salem, Massachusetts (site of the infamous Salem Witch Trials) for the day. The town has used the witch trials as a tourist draw and the town really “does it up”, so to speak.

    This year (today), Nightingale is going with them. Please pray for a safe journey up and back, and safety for her – and the other women (I think there’s another friend of Dee’s going, too) – in every way, especially spiritually.

    Oh, and please pray the same for Boy, who is with his dad for much of the day today. And might as well throw in a prayer for Chickadee. 🙂

    May God save, protect, and bless all of our children and grandchildren.

  2. Praying Janice & Kizzie (whose state makes my state look tame sometimes).

    I think I’ve read where fevers go up a bit in the nighttime? I noticed that when I had covid, the numbers rose just a bit in the evening (my temperature was never really that high, in the 99.5 range for just the first couple days); they seemed to drop and were lower during the day.

  3. STep mom in law is being transferred to rehab. Who will take care of the hundred year old?
    Step mom fell on her way to the bathroom last night. Got her walker tangled with her cedar chest. Two workers were there. She ended up in the ER for six hours and seven staples.

  4. Yup. 😦

    I don’t think she’s into spells or anything like that. I think it may be more of an “identity” for her. I was glad when one of the kids at the bus stop was talking about using a Ouija board, and she warned the kids that not everything in the spirit world is safe or as it seems (or something to that effect).

    Although I realize that some believers will say that it is only the power of suggestion, I do know that some strange, scary things can happen with Ouija boards. My family (my parents and I, before I was saved) had a strange experience with one many years ago.

  5. How’s Janice this morning?

    Our church staffer with serious Covid complications is out of the hospital but not out of the woods. Praying for recovery and that doctors can resolve the troubling lung and heart issues, that he will also be able to gain some weight.

  6. I am still hanging around the bed mostly. I think the swelling has gone down slightly, and I have fewer twinges of pain (never major but like momentary needle sticks occasionally). I have not taken my temp today. I think I sweated a bit in the night. I know nothing about what to expect so will try to call the surgeon’s office Monday. It was the medical oncologist who, after the main consultation, took a look and asked how long has it been red like this? I said I had just noticed the swelling since I had been at radiology two days before. He did the prescription but did not give any further instructions. I think that is not a routine part of his job.

    When it was time for him to look at the incision, my friend jumped up ready to leave the room, the doc said he needed to get a staff chaperone, and then my friend said she could stay and turn her head. The docs have to be so careful these days. It’s necessary but sad.

  7. Praying still Janice. Did you develop a hematoma? I did after my hysterectomy and it was red then turned technicolor! Had a fever and they put me on antibiotics. Healed up in about a week.

  8. Thanks, Nancyjill and all for your prayers. I just took my temp and it was finally 98.6. Of course the swelling is very slowly lessening. Much better than feeling like I have an unwanted silicon implant😀
