Prayer Requests 5-12-21

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget Ajissun and the folks in The Gambia.

Anyone else?

Let’s continue to lift Debra and her husband up in prayer.

Psalm 89:1-8

I will sing of the Lord’s great love forever;
    with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known
    through all generations.
I will declare that your love stands firm forever,
    that you have established your faithfulness in heaven itself.
You said, “I have made a covenant with my chosen one,
    I have sworn to David my servant,
‘I will establish your line forever
    and make your throne firm through all generations.’”

The heavens praise your wonders, Lord,
    your faithfulness too, in the assembly of the holy ones.
For who in the skies above can compare with the Lord?
    Who is like the Lord among the heavenly beings?
In the council of the holy ones God is greatly feared;
    he is more awesome than all who surround him.
Who is like you, Lord God Almighty?
    You, Lord, are mighty, and your faithfulness surrounds you.

  1. I have taken several days off work so I can be with Cyrus. He cannot continue like this indefinitely. I feel like there is a tug of war happening over him in the spirit. He is fighting to live and we are praying, and the enemy of our souls wants him dead. I don’t believe it’s his time yet–not because I don’t want it to be, but because he just isn’t finished yet. I pray that God’s mercy and grace cover him, and the healing that Jesus endured such agony to procure is applied to him now in this condition and this situation.

  2. Continuing in prayer for you and Cyrus, Debra. Keep boldly approaching the throne of grace, as I know you are. With you right there in prayer this day.

    Debra (and all), my mother-in-law had a heart attack on Easter, I mentioned previously, and was given a few days to live. You may recall that we were told her liver and kidneys were shutting down and she wouldn’t live much longer.

    She is still with us and going strong. Her liver and kidneys are fully functional without medical technology, and her heart sounds like any 85-year-old’s. She is receiving visitors almost daily and is as spunky and full of life as ever.

    Not to denigrate medical workers, because many are caring and knowledgeable, but those who pronounced my MIL’s case as hopeless were wrong. The smartest human on the planet does not know what God knows. Praise God that He fully knows and He fully loves, in ways deeper than we will ever realize. He is in control in both the earthly and spiritual realms. No battle takes Him by surprise or is more than He can handle.

    Debra, may the Lord sustain you and your dear husband as you both walk hand and hand with Him who calms the turbulent waters and brings peace in the midst of the storm.

  3. And now, having said the above about Jesus bringing peace in the midst of the storm, I would appreciate prayers for my friend Teri and her family, at the death of her dear great grandson. Teri is a believer, but the child’s passing has understandably shaken her and all the little boy’s loved ones.

    Thank you.

  4. Six, Thank you for that wonderful testimony of God’s mercy and faithfulness. And I will pray for Teri as well. Our God is as faithful in our losses as he is in our victories.
