  1. The kiss of death for Lizzy. 🙂

“O.J. Simpson stands by Liz Cheney amid GOP reckoning”

    “Killer endorsement.

House GOP Conference Chair Liz Cheney has earned the support of convicted felon-turned-Twitter pundit O.J. Simpson, amid the fight of her political life.

Cheney (R-Wyo.), the No. 3 Republican in the House, earned the Juice’s respect because she “stands up for truth.”

Simpson offered his kind words via video posted to Twitter Monday, noting that at first, “I gotta admit, I was not a fan of Liz Cheney.”

“Don’t get me wrong, I’m 50-50 on her politics, but I didn’t like her. And then I just realized recently, the reason I didn’t like her had to do with her father, probably my least favorite politician of my adult life, former Vice President Dick Cheney,” he continued.

“Then I saw a show the other day and I saw a quote by Voltaire and it said that patriotism was the enemy of mankind,” Simpson said, noting the quote incorrectly.

The actual quote from the French writer reads, “It is lamentable that to be a good patriot, one must become the enemy of the rest of mankind.””

  2. David Frum gets dragged for being an idiot.

  3. Lapdogs do this, not real journalists.

    What a sham.

  4. An Australian friend sent the following:

Hi everyone, I just received this prayer request from a student who lives in Jerusalem:

“Please continue to pray: Hamas, the terrorist organization in Gaza, fired many rockets into the southern coastal towns of Ashdod and Ashkelon. They are trying to overcome by overwhelming the Iron Dome Missile defence system, which intercepts missiles aimed at Israel in mid-air … shrapnel still flies so you have to take cover. The IDF has called in 5000 reserve soldiers.

Please pray… many people aren’t really sure why tensions are increasing… probably government and the intelligence agencies know more about the reason, if not everything… but anyway, please do continue to pray. It is the month of Ramadan, this has a tendency to make Muslims crankier and also more ‘extremist-minded’… definitely there’s something spiritual behind this.”

Please pray for this student and for the nation of Israel according to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem – Psalm 122.

  5. She’s out…

“House Republicans voted Wednesday to oust Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) from her House leadership position amid a public spat between her and other House GOP leaders following her increasingly critical comments about former President Donald Trump and the party’s messaging.

After she was voted out, Cheney, the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, told reporters that she will work to prevent Trump from becoming president again, but stressed she didn’t feel betrayed by her fellow House Republicans.”

  6. Oh my.

    This is unprecedented.

“More than 120 retired generals and admirals sign letter questioning 2020 election and Biden’s mental health”

“”Without fair and honest elections that accurately reflect the ‘will of the people’ our Constitutional Republic is lost,” stated the letter, which was released Monday by “Flag Officers 4 America” and signed by 124 former admirals and generals.

“Election integrity demands insuring there is one legal vote cast and counted per citizen. Legal votes are identified by State Legislature’s approved controls using government IDs, verified signatures, etc. Today, many are calling such commonsense controls ‘racist’ in an attempt to avoid having fair and honest elections,” it continued.

The letter added that the FBI and Supreme Court “must act swiftly when election irregularities are surfaced and not ignore them as was done in 2020.”

Flag Officers 4 America says on its website that it is a group of “retired military leaders who pledged to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” The website adds that retired military members are “bound by that oath to do what we can, in our capacity today, to protect our nation from the threats to her freedom.”

The letter, which also warned of the harms of socialism, Marxism, and “progressivism,” went on to question Biden’s health and fitness for the job.

“The mental and physical condition of the Commander in Chief cannot be ignored. He must be able to quickly make accurate national security decisions involving life and limb anywhere, day or night,” the letter said.”

  7. Like I said yesterday, Fauci lied to Congress and Senator Paul.

“EXC: Fauci-Funded Researchers Headlined Wuhan Lab ‘Gain Of Function’ Conference.”

“A press release from the Wuhan Institute of Virology – believed by many to be the source of COVID-19 – recounts the “2nd China-U.S. Workshop on the Challenges of Emerging Infections, Laboratory Safety and Global Health Security.”

The May 2017 event was “co-organized by U.S. National Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV), CAS and Hubei Society for Microbiology.”

According to the Wuhan lab, the event had five academic sessions, the first of which was “gain of function research, gene editing, targeting and delivery and other novel biotechnology.”

Among the Americans in attendance as special guests were Professors Linda Saif, James LeDuc, and David Relman. Together, the three professors have received nearly 200 grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), with 75 coming from Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).

LeDuc, whose earliest grant can be traced to 2006, has received 32 grants from the NIAID, according to the NIH registry. He runs the Galveston National Laboratory, which was “constructed under grants awarded by the NIAID/NIH.”

Saif, who counts funding from NIAID since 1985, has received a total of 56 grants from the NIH, 43 of which came from Fauci’s NIAID.

And Relman, who’s been funded by the NIH since 1996, has received 90 grants from the NIH. He has also received the NIH’s Pioneer Award and the Transformative Research Award.

“The unearthed conference follows a heated exchange between Fauci and Senator Rand Paul, where the NIAID Director denied providing funding to the Wuhan Institute of Virology to conduct gain of function research.

NIH grant records reveal, however, that money sent to the New York-based EcoHealth Alliance was used for research conducted at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.”

  8. Nope, no inflation here….. and never mind that man behind the curtain….

“Inflation Spikes as Consumer Prices Soar by 4.2% in April”

“The Consumer Price Index (CPI) climbed in April by 4.2% as the economy begins to open up, causing a demand for supply. It’s the biggest 12-month increase since 2008.

The CPI “measures a basket of goods as well as energy and housing costs.” In other words, it encompasses everything. All goods.

    From The Wall Street Journal:

The Labor Department reported its consumer-price index jumped 4.2% in April from a year earlier, up from 2.6% for the year ended in March. Consumer prices increased a seasonally adjusted 0.8% in April from March. The index measures what consumers pay for goods and services, including clothes, groceries, restaurant meals, recreational activities and vehicles.

Higher prices for used autos surged 10% in April compared with the prior month—the largest monthly increase on record. That accounted for more than a third of the increase, the Labor Department said.

The core price index, which does not include food and energy, climbed 3% compared to a year ago. Other stats:

    Food prices: 2.4%
Restaurant meals/meals away from home: 3.8%
    Car and truck rentals: 82%
    Airfare: 9.6%
Prices were going to change from a year ago because of the pandemic. Prices only rose 2.2% from April two years ago.

I asked my financial friend if this instance of inflation is a good thing. He said no. He said part of it is the rebounding economy, but if a considerable portion of the economy is sitting at home and collecting unemployment it will backfire.

He offered me this example: A ten-year U.S. treasury bond yields about 1.7% as of Wednesday morning. If inflation is growing 4.8% you’re already in the hole with your money. In other words, the bond is paying you negative 3% after inflation.

It doesn’t help that the Fed wants to keep rates near zero. It prefers to keep those rates until its “preferred inflation measure is averaging 2$ and full employment has been achieved.”
Full employment? Okay, I understand that. But did you see the April jobs report? No one is going back to work despite all the job openings. Everyone is staying home and collecting unemployment.

Will prices go down? History says no:”
