I have a strange rave.
Strange in that it is hard to describe. A permanent thing.
Elvera and I only had one . A son.
He got married and had three girls.
I an mot only proud, but overjoyed at how well this family turned out.
All three:
I am aware, at a family gathering that mostly, it’s Chuck’s girls. But at a family gathering, I am mighty proud of this entire group.
Sometimes a song expresses your feelings perfectly.
When they took Elvera away, I said, “There goes my reason for living.”
Now: “This world is not my home,
I’m only passing through
My treasure’s all laid up
somewhere beyond the blue.
The Angles bekon me
from Heaven’s open door
and i can’t feel at home in this world anymore.
I spent all afternoon sitting in the front room. Watching cars go by. That’s all I could do.
After a while, I went in and got a cookie for a snack.
Then I came in here to check on the computer.
I looked at the clock. It said: 1:11.
How time does fly when you are rained in.
Oldest GD, Becky , was over here. She left telling me to “behave”. When you reach 90, you don’t need to be told that.
The Beck is a sweet girl, like her grandmother. Pretty too.
Michelle, how about star or flag or somehow distinguish the recurring zoom meetings emails from others so they stand out more? My gmail accounts have a “star” function and then automatically sort the starred emails into the starred folder.
DJ, 2:18, ha ha! That would be fun. 🙂
Our turtle, which is in the tank on a table next to the grand piano, loves music, and swims near the piano end of the tank or stares from the basking dock, when someone is playing piano. The last time my piano tuner was here, he couldn’t get over how a turtle would be so interested in the work he was doing on the piano. 🙂
I have heard — don’t know if it’s true — that dairy cows that hear classical music played in the barn give more milk than other cows.
😦 Definitely not the best week ever, but closure on an issue that has been a grief for almost three years. (My husband had to block my sister.)
🙂 A very unusual photo opportunity with snow on the flowers that I have described as “the prettiest week of the year” when the tree blossoms are in full bloom and some of the prettiest wildflowers are blooming (including Virginia bluebells and larkspur).
🙂 I made very good progress on an editing job, which allowed me some downtime to process the good and the bad of the week.
🙂 Knowing how much my husband loves me, having the wise support of two of my brothers, and some friends as well. Today I had a two-and-a-half hour phone call with a friend from my college days with whom I only talk by phone a couple times a year.
🙂 My favorite time of the year is beginning: the season of butterflies and baby animals, with new flowers out every week.
🙂 Winter is over, with one last hurrah of that crazy snowfall. But winter, Covid isolation (no church, the quietest Christmas on record), and relational garbage made this past winter one to endure and survive . . . and we did. We did.
I drove to the care center in Hollywood where Carol died in December to pick up her belongings — this was pre-arranged last weekend, the facility wanted me to come during the week but I said that was complicated due to my work schedule; so we set it up for today, Saturday, and the social worker was to gather the things from storage to make sure they’d be ready to be picked up today by me.
But when I arrived, complete with the wheeled cart they’d recommended I bring, the receptionist (who remembered talking to me last week) had this oh-oh look on her face. The social worker was off, she’d apparently forgotten about gathering the items for today’s pickup; and no one had the key to storage. So they are going to see if they can ship the items in a box to my house, I left my address and contact info. Theoretically I could go back Monday since I have that day off, but if they can mail it that would be great.
Kizzie, I mean block emails and let her know we won’t accept further communication. (I don’t want to go into a lot of detail here, though. If you have my email address, I’ll answer other questions.)
You would think after a year plus of doing this, Zoom would be straight-forward.
Nope.
And I can’t find the Zoom link–despite all sorts of machinations–to this morning’s class.
I didn’t sleep well last night, had to get up early to make the class, and have just spent the last 1/2 hour searching every email to find the link.
Recurring meetings are a problem–some of us need the link each week.
And someone’s husband taking control of his, admittedly, Zoom account, has made my getting on to any other meetings a challenge.
Sulking away . . . and wondering what God really wanted me to learn this morning?
How about, rejoice in everything and in everything give thanks?
At least my hair is done. 🙂

And in good news this morning, our new pastor will be installed this afternoon!
We’re singing.
It rained this morning. LOL
Isn’t life just fun? 🙂

Amen, Chas, amen. That is how it ought to be for all believers, sojourners.

Not going to class meant I sat and prayed and listened.
All better. 🙂
Overcast day here, some tiny bit of moisture this morning. The new pastor installation is outdoors!

I’m glad to see Jo show up this morning (for her). I was afraid I had killed the thread.

Oh, I know a few 90 + year olds who do need to be told to behave. 😉 Not that they listen. 😀

Blocked: kind of like giving the other party a needed “time out.”
