  1. Good morning. We are busy with the grands and daughter. Despite the rain we managed to do some exploring outdoors. It is always fun when they visit, but tiring, as many of you know.

  2. morning all. Going to a memorial at the park today. Thankful for cooler weather

got sick yesterday and finally figured out what I had eaten the day before

went to the pool later. My legs are much stronger with spending a half hour a day kicking in the water and my arms too. I watch the clock because more than half an hour just wipes me out. I come home quite cooled off

  3. We had an early start out to go take care of things at my brother’s home. We left at 7 a.m. which I am not up for anymore. We paid the nice neighbor who mows. Later we went to rehab. Weekends are very slow and staff is very sparse. No one would move Bro’s phone close so he could reach it so we were out of touch a long time. Not ideal.

  4. So sad that such a simple thing was not done for your brother, Janice.

We had a wonderful day at the head waters of the Mississippi River. Our grands have seen the river from the arch in St. Louis and daughter the end in New Orleans. Our middle daughter lives in one of the river towns along the river, which has a long bridge over the river you need to take to get into town. We took our children to the headwaters, also, when they were young.

The state park is truly beautiful, and the children had a ball crossing over and over on the rocks. They managed to not break anything which seems impossible when they are going over and over on some slippery rocks. One of our grands was quite upset that some boys were trying to dam up the river. We assured her they would not succeed. 😀

We saw several groups of beautiful, blooming pink lady slippers when we walked one of the trails. What a beautiful world our Lord made for us to enjoy!

We stopped to get some photos of a giant Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox on the way home. I, clearly, have to read my children’s book about them to the grands. One of my grands said she liked seeing them but referred to them as Bob and Babe. 😀

  6. Yes, prayers for Cheryl’s surgery. Everything about it done perfectly and afterward a complete recovery without any obstacles. Please, Jesus, in Your name I lift this prayer.

Happy Father’s Day to all those who see this who were once known as Daddy and may be known as Dad these days.

Online church was good for me today. Art went by rehab before going on to the office. Good thing he went to get another need taken care of for Bro.

Bro has a new roommate as of last night. Leaving the hospital and going to rehab on the weekend is the worst. The ambulance people put him in his bed. No staff was in the room when he arrived. I offered to get him a snack but he’d eaten at the hospital. He was suppose to leave the hospital at 2 p.m. but transport did not happen until maybe 6:30. When his wife arrived I gave her my chair and went on a hunt for another. I told Art I had learned some hospitality skills from a friend. But truly, the rehab staff needed to be there for them. A lady helped get thr chair in the room for me and that was the first staff they saw.

  7. Sadly, I know one guy who was placed in a closet and not given any food for hours on end. By the 2nd day he was begging his wife to get him out of there. I could go on but won’t. Thank God, however, for those who do care, whether staff or administration.
