  2. Ah yes, some good old fashioned cronyism is what’s needed to bring Manchin to heal.

“Biden Nominates Joe Manchin’s Wife For Federal Commission Post”

“Joe Biden has somewhat quietly appointed Senator Joe Manchin’s wife to a powerful federal commission. She won’t just be a member of the commission, Biden chose her to be the federal co-chair of the Appalachian Regional Commission. This is a position that must be approved by a vote in the Senate.

Let’s be honest — Joe Biden’s bringing on Gayle Conelly Manchin in hopes of scoring points with Joe Manchin. Biden needs Manchin to vote along with the other Senate Democrats to move his agenda through. In a 50/50 Senate, the Biden administration has to sweat every vote. The headline for this story automatically raises an eyebrow if the reader understands just how powerful Joe Manchin is at this point in time. Manchin can pretty much get whatever he wants from Biden in exchange for Manchin’s support.”

  3. Nope, no crisis here…..

  7. Lapdog Alert!

    Doing the Dems propaganda again.

“The Media’s All-In Campaign to Destroy the Filibuster”

“As we speak, there is no bill on the congressional docket that would provide Democrats an excuse to blow up the filibuster — or, as the media might euphemistically refer to it, “reforming” or “overhauling” the filibuster.

One day, of course, there will be. Democrats, after all, used the filibuster hundreds of times in the past few years. But as far as we know, the party doesn’t have the votes for their election-integrity-killing bill. They don’t have the votes for a gun-restriction bill. Not any bill.

Yet, a casual follower of politics would surely be under the impression that there is a pressing battle unfolding because the media are incessantly covering the filibuster issue as a way to pressure holdout moderate Democrats to join the Left in the efforts to destroy the Senate.

Take Manu Raju at CNN, whose main job it seems is to badger Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema with hypothetical questions about stripping Senate guardrails to allow Democrats to jam through their agenda with a narrow majority. Would you blow them up for a gun bill? Would you blow them up for a voting bill? Would you like it in a house? Would you like it with a mouse? Would you? Could you? In a car?

If you’re skeptical that the press engages as partisan advocates, check out the memos of Adam Jentleson, once Harry Reid’s deputy chief of staff and now a leading advocate of destroying Senate norms. The memos offer talking points and frame the filibuster issue in progressive terms for activists. Most questions from the press use nearly verbatim the language that Jentleson lays out.”

For example, a section titled “Frame the Question in Concrete Terms” instructs activists to avoid talking about norms but rather to pressure senators on the underlying bills.

    Here is a suggested question:

Senator, if Republicans filibuster [HR1, or the FAMILY Act, or the Manchin-Toomey background checks bill], would you support efforts to reform or abolish the filibuster in order to pass it?

Well, this is exactly what Raju asked Manchin the other day. Now, either journalists are using Jentleson’s language, which would be unethical, or they are already predisposed to asking questions in the exact terms left-wing activists want them to — which is probably even worse.”

  8. There’s no crisis other than the lack of a Republican platform beyond fear. Illegal migration fluctuates through the year; rising in January to peak in May and then decline again til January. As the weather improves migration picks up and as general labour jobs pick up in the spring so does migration.

The 28% increase some news agencies cite is the increase from 2020 — which is an anomaly due to Covid. In fact 2019 with Trump in charge marked the highest level of illegal migration since 2019; a 100% increase from 2018. Migration dropped dramatically due to the 2008 recession and never recovered even the 2019 spike doesn’t come close to 2006 when almost 900,000 migrants were caught crossing into the US. Its been around 4-500K since 2010. Although 2006 is the most recent spikie, it also pales in comparision to the late 80s and late 90s.

2020 was a weird year in which migration declined in the spring only to increase starting in October — prior to the election. Trump had four years to fix this so called problem yet ….. maybe because its not really a problem for Republican financial backers — corporations. However, I’m glad FOX and the Republicans are concerned for the weldare of children and families — better late than never I suppose

  9. Sure HRW…..

    Totally normal….. 🙄

“We Saw the Biden Cages,” Children Are “Packed In There … Side by Side”

““What they’re doing is inhumane, it’s unconscionable, and it was … preventable. It’s the direct result of political decisions the Biden administration has made.””

“As the Biden administration fumbles with the border crisis they created, Texas Senator Ted Cruz headed to the border to get a first-hand look at the inhumane conditions Biden is forcing the flood of illegal aliens, including thousands of children, to endure.

    What he revealed is chilling.”

“The term “Biden cages” is perfectly apt given not only that the supposed Trump “kids in cages” lie as actually based on images from 2014—i.e. during the Obama-Biden administration—but also in that they are currently crammed with illegals who are flooding across the border at Biden’s invitation.”

  10. Further proof HRW is wrong.

“The Biden Border Crisis Is Real, And It’s About To Get Much Worse”

“The Biden administration still refuses to acknowledge the crisis, even as it spirals out of control and record numbers of children are in federal custody.”

“The Biden administration is facing not just a crisis at the border, but a crisis of unprecedented magnitude. Unaccompanied migrant teenagers and children have never before arrived at the border in such numbers.

For the past three weeks, federal agents have apprehended on average more than 550 unaccompanied minors every day, and are on pace to bring in more than 17,000 children and teens in March, the most ever in a single month. The numbers for April and May, when border crossings usually peak, will undoubtedly bring far higher numbers.

“The federal agencies tasked with managing this crisis are overwhelmed. The facilities that house unaccompanied minors in federal custody are overrun. The Biden administration has tried to impose a media blackout at the border, but the truth is getting out. Images of migrant children sleeping on the floor of an overcrowded, makeshift detention facility in South Texas circulated widely on Monday.

The photos, first leaked to Axios by Rep. Henry Cuellar, D-Texas, show a large tent structure partitioned into “pods” by clear plastic walls. Children and teenagers are packed into each of these pods, sleeping or sitting on plastic mattresses, huddled under emergency blankets in close proximity. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection facility where the images were taken was 1,500 percent over its pandemic-rated capacity as of Sunday, according to CBP data reviewed by the Washington Post.”

    I know……..

    Math is hard.

  11. And who benefits greatly from Biden’s failed policies and inaction?

    The criminals.

“How Criminal Organizations Are Profiting Off Of Biden’s Border Crisis”

“On this episode of The Federalist Radio Hour, Josh Jones, a senior fellow in border security for the Texas Public Policy Foundation, joins Political Editor John Daniel Davidson to discuss the role smugglers, traffickers, and drug cartels play in profiting off of the surge of illegal aliens crossing the U.S.-Mexico border.

“It’s loud and clear that unaccompanied minors that are coming to the U.S. are not being turned away,” Jones said, noting that people will pay to be escorted across the border and that cartels will take advantage of large groups and caravans as a way to smuggle drugs across the border.

“They can guarantee a 100 percent success rate, essentially, to folks who are wanting to send their children up into the US or who were coming into the US and sending for their children to come up,” he said.”

  12. https://www.theepochtimes.com/mkt_breakingnews/biden-staffer-blocks-ted-cruz-from-taking-video-at-border-facility_3752657.html

“Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said he was told by a Biden administration staffer that he could not record a video at a Border Patrol facility along the U.S.-Mexico border.

“Please give dignity to the people. Please give dignity to the people. … Please respect the people, the rules,” the so-called staffer told Cruz while blocking the camera with her face, according to a video he showed Fox News.

“So you work for the commissioner, you’re a senior adviser, you were hired two weeks ago and you’re instructed to ask us to not have any pictures taken here because the political leadership at DHS does not want the American people to know it,” Cruz said in response to the official. She did not disclose her identity, and The Epoch Times has contacted the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for comment.

The staffer then told him: “Please don’t treat the people as such,” to which Cruz responded that “your policies are unfortunately trying to hide them.”

“I understand that you were instructed,” Cruz said. “I respect them, and I want to fix this situation, and the administration that you work for is responsible for these conditions.”

Cruz and more than a dozen Republican senators went to the border last week, with many describing overcrowded and severe conditions in facilities used to hold unaccompanied minors—children who unlawfully enter the country without an adult.”

  13. And if a child drowned last year in the rio grande (and someone probably did); you would blame the parents. The reversal of opinions could give someone whiplash — last year it was the parent’s fault this year its the presidents and on the other side its the opposite reversal. The truth is this year is not a statistical anomaly, 2020 was. And post 2008 stats are lower than the 1990 to 2006. The relatively new phenomena of unaccompanied minors has little to do with who is president and more to do with the extreme situation families find themselves in Central America. As a parent, I’m glad I don’t face the same dilemma. Glad to see Cruz et al are so concerned with the children’s conditions — again a little late, and, of course, I’m sure its not political opportunitism,
