“Michigan Supreme Court Rules Whitmerâs Shutdown Order âIn Violationâ Of State Constitution”
“The Michigan Supreme Court ruled on Friday that Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmerâs state of emergency declaration over the pandemic is unconstitutional.
The court ruled that Whitmer lacked authority under each of the two laws that govern states of emergency in Michigan to extend the state of emergency passed April 30, when her first state of emergency declaration expired, according to Mlive.com. Those two laws are the 1976 Emergency Management Act (EMA) and the 1945 Emergency Powers of the Governor Act (EPGA).
âWe conclude that the Governor lacked the authority to declare a âstate of emergencyâ or a âstate of disasterâ under the EMA after April 30, 2020, on the basis of the COVID-19 pandemic,â the court ruled in a 5-4 decision. âFurthermore, we conclude that the EPGA is in violation of the Constitution of our state because it purports to delegate to the executive branch the legislative powers of state government â including its plenary police powers â and to allow the exercise of such powers indefinitely. As a consequence, the EPGA cannot continue to provide a basis for the Governor to exercise emergency powers.â
I saw a post on Facebook about Jim Acosta saying that Trump couldn’t get people or enthusiasm at his rallies after the debate. I know people who were at the one in Duluth and this was a surprise to them. I saw coverage from the event and know it is not true. It was very cold that evening and some people drove a long distance to get there.(Not to mention the Covid threat) I learned during demonstrations, marches and picketing how biased reporting can be. It rather amazes me in this day and age of computers with instant recall that it still goes on. I suppose most of us don’t have the will, time or energy to check out such claims. Thank you to all the good reporters who just report the facts.

“Cleveland Officials Traced COVID Cases Back to the Debate… Before Trump Was On-site”
“Officials for the City of Cleveland said 11 cases of the Wuhan coronavirus could be traced back to the Sept. 29 presidential debate. The cases were a result of debate pre-planning and set-up, with the majority of cases impacting out-of-state travelers, particularly debate organizers and members of the media.
The news comes after President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump tested positive for the virus. Out of an abundance of caution, the president was transported to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Friday.
“As the cases involve people in and out of state some of whom may be continuing to travel, the City of Cleveland is working with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH), the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention and the Cleveland Clinic,” the city said in a statement. “As part of CDPHâs process regarding COVID-19, any individuals who tested positive as part of the debate were contacted, interviewed when possible, issued isolation orders and provided guidance regarding their isolation period. There were also conversations with individuals who tested positive regarding their upcoming travel.”
Part of the contact tracing that’s being deployed will focus on identifying Cleveland residents who may have been at the debate. They will be asked a number of questions, like who they live with, where they work, what type of work they do, if they’re caring for anyone and if they’ve been at any other mass gatherings.
“In the event the personâs case stems from the debate, the individual will be asked: who they are employed by, who they were in contact with at the debate, how they got to the debate, how long they were there, if they did any traveling recently or attended any other mass gathering,” the city explained.
Before the event, the Cleveland Clinic, which oversaw the health and safety measures at the debate, said there was a very low risk level of exposure.”

WHOA.
Michigan Supreme Court rules against @GovWhitmer's use of 1945 emergency powers law in #COVID19 pandemic, says 145 law "is in violation of the Constitution of our state because it purports to delegate to the executive branch the legislative powers of state government…" pic.twitter.com/sIP7Pd6X6r
“Everyone agrees that the first televised debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden was atrocious. Like sitting through âan argument about an arcane procedural rule during a senior bingo night at a nursing home in purgatoryâ, as one columnist put it. But the mediaâs follow-up on the debate hasnât been much better. The way the media have obsessed over what Trump said (or didnât say) about so-called white supremacy confirms that Trump and Biden arenât the only ones who are incapable of engaging in an honest, reasoned discussion about the problems facing America.
Trump and white supremacy have become the main talking points in the post-debate fallout. From CNN to the BBC, and of course across the Trump-loathing Twittersphere, all the talk is of why Trump wonât condemn the white-supremacist groups that are apparently tearing apart the soul of America. During the debate, Trump was asked if he would condemn the Proud Boys, the stupid right-wing gang founded by Gavin McInnes to defend Western values (if these chinless wonders are the last line of defence for Western civilisation, then weâre even more screwed than I thought). Trump said he doesnât know who the Proud Boys are but he would be happy to condemn them if they are indeed white supremacists. They should âstand downâ, he said, and âstand byâ.”

“There is a bigger issue at play in the media eliteâs obsession with white supremacist groups. It speaks to their alarming inability, or unwillingness, to face up to the real source of disarray and conflict in the US today. It isnât white-supremacist groups who have taken part in the worst, most nihilistic riots to rock America for five decades â it is people who, right or wrongly, identify as âleftâ or as âprogressiveâ. It isnât the Proud Boys who have laid waste to entire blocks in often quite deprived areas in Kenosha, Minneapolis and Portland â it is supporters of so-called âAntifaâ and of Black Lives Matter. It isnât the Proud Boys who have harassed diners and stormed into suburbia calling people âmotherfuckersâ and insisting that they bow down to the supposedly correct political worldview â it is the upper middle-class, often white supporters of BLM who have done that, most of whom will shortly be voting Biden for president.
The disconnect between the mediaâs obsessions and the real world grows more vast by the day. Of course there are white supremacists in the US, and of course their views are vile and racist, but the idea that they are a significant or well-organised force simply doesnât stand up to scrutiny. And of course Trump, as president, should be clearer and firmer in his comments on white supremacist or hard-right groups. He should have been clearer in this weekâs debate and he should have been clearer after Charlottesville. But why are we even talking about white supremacists right now? Why are we talking about the Proud Boys? They arenât the ones who have helped to unleash a wave of instability and destruction in recent weeks. It is the identitarian rabble-rousers of Antifa (just an idea, according to Biden) and other ostensibly âwokeâ groups who have done that.
The mediaâs myopic focus on white supremacy is a displacement activity of epic proportions. For weeks now, the mainstream media, and much of the Democratic-leaning political class, have refused to speak honestly about the instability in the US and about the divisive, identity-based ideologies that have fuelled it. Perhaps nervous that their own role in fomenting the dogma of identitarianism will be exposed, or worried that criticism of Antifa and BLM could accidentally benefit Trump, they have either ignored or downplayed the mayhem of the past couple of months. âMostly peaceful protestsâ, theyâve said about fiery, nihilistic destruction. As statues were toppled and beheaded, as businesses were burnt to the ground, as people were accosted and attacked for being white or for failing to raise a fist in support of BLM, the media have shrugged their shoulders or said âItâs not a big dealâ. And now they want us to get heated about the Proud Boys, an ineffectual bunch of muppets? Are they kidding?”

Dems are clearly slandering, libeling, and projecting here.
As I repeatedly told HRW, her unconstitutional dictates will not survive a court challenge.
