  1. First!
πŸ™‚ This community, whose members have genuine love and concern for each other. AJ emailed me to make sure I’m okay, since I hadn’t checked in for awhile. We are all fine.

  2. Hi Kevin! We’ve been looking for you.

Rant: I haven’t had a haircut in over a month now. I don’t like hair over my ears. I guess women get used to it. But it bothers me.

  3. 😳 Chas I suspect none of us have had our hair trimmed. I am waking up with some wild looking hair these days and my bangs are now going to the side instead of straight down. Frustrated that my hair gal isn’t allowed to trim my hair for fear of a 1000.00 fine and losing her license…but….
😳 liquor stores are considered β€œessential”!!
😊 it is a most lovely day here with a predicted high of 65! Going to get out and enjoy it because…..
😳 tomorrow our high will be 25 and we are expected to get a half foot of snow…on Easter!

  4. πŸ˜‰ On the plus side, I am saving money on hair spray etc. That might be good for my scalp. I am saving money on make-up, too. That might be good for my face.

😦 Missing being around family for Easter. Missing church with them. Missing corporate worship.

😦 The sad stories of those losing loved ones and not being able to have services or others around them. This includes a young woman who succumbed to cancer. She was my oldest daughter’s age. She went to a Turn About Dance with my daughter. Of the four who went, the two guys died in a car accident about age twenty. Now she has passed. Only my daughter remains. So said for her children. The youngest is sixteen, I believe.

😦 Those who can’t visit loved ones in the nursing homes etc. Or be in hospitals with loved ones.

πŸ™‚ So glad we can trust God with everything. So glad we have the gift of communication with the God who has established his throne in heaven and rules over all. Amazing!

  5. πŸ™‚ I’ll have to trim my bangs this morning, but I usually trim my own bangs anyway — sometimes better than other times, though, it’s hit and miss. Chas, do you have any barber scissors around the house? Elvera may have some on hand somewhere. I see on FB that my former boyfriend decided to just shave his head ala Bruce Willis and Denzel Washington.

    😦 Strange days

πŸ™‚ The sun was out and now it’s behind the clouds again. But our cloudy, rainy weather has made it easier to stay indoors

πŸ™‚ Technology; today is call-the-cousins and other friends day for me.

πŸ™‚ I’m still working, as frustrating as that can be in these times

  6. πŸ™‚ Starting to write chapter 3 today!

😦 First Easter in 40 years not to have any children around.

πŸ™‚ WE GET ALL THE CANDY!

😦 We get all the candy. 😦

πŸ™‚ 120th birthday of US Navy submarines! It seems like a different person led that submarine life for 20 years!

πŸ™‚ So thankful for so much.

  7. Daughter was trying to figure out what eighteen had smeared all over daughter’s freshly painted guest room wall. Seems eighteen had sneaked into the storage room, stolen some matches, managed to light one and singed the wall so she covered it with wood glue she found. A patch about two feet wide and tall. Then, because she was dishonest about it, I searched her room. Found a knife. She stole it, possibly from my sis in law, possibly from son’s trailer he had parked here. She also took sixty dollars, a flashlight, needle nose pliers….it never ever ends.

  8. Oh, Mumsee, is right. 😦

Donna, It would take me more than a day to call all my cousins. Not that I have all their numbers. That would be about 80 first cousins.

Oh, Chas, then you wouldn’t look like Burt.

  9. πŸ™‚ It’s spring, and the prettiest week of the year. There is one week locally that nearly all the trees are in blossom at the same time (and we have many species of blooming trees), and the tulips are blooming, and lots and lots of wildflowers are blooming. (I have photographed about 30 species of wildflowers so far this year! Not all are pretty ones, and some are really tiny, but that’s still a lot of species for the first half of April.)

Two years ago we were down here looking at houses and running all sorts of errands in this week. It was really beautiful for driving around town, but I had no chance to get photos, so I thought “Next year!” Last year we had really heavy rains that stripped most of the flowers just as they were starting to bloom, so I missed many of them, and I said “Next year.” This year, we have a worldwide pandemic . . . but I was not going to sit inside my house and say “Next year!”

πŸ™‚ I have actually walked this week on all four of the local walking trails that I have visited (there are also some shorter ones I haven’t been on yet, but that’s all the main ones).

πŸ™‚ This morning I got to see something I’ve watched for for several years, and have never been able to watch: a dragonfly coming out of it juvenile skin to emerge as a creature with wings. (The difference between the adult and the juvenile is amazing.) I’d seen photos of the process or I would have missed it today, because I actually noticed that the grasses in the pond had something that looked like the shape of a dragonfly emerging. I figured it probably was just my imagination, but I zoomed in anyway . . . and it was. Another one crawled out while I was watching, but it chose to move to the far side of a blade of grass, so I wasn’t able to watch it. (They were in the water, and the very edge of that pond is not a place one can stand or sit . . . I was a little precarious where I was, but sometimes a wildlife photographer has to push it a little!)

😦 All the stuff going on around the world.

πŸ™‚ We’ve been staying in touch with family well during this time.

    πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ God’s in His heaven, all’s right with the world.

  10. πŸ™‚ I went and walked the entire 18 holes of the golf course where my house is. I have always wanted to do that. It was about five miles of walking. When I got tired there were benches to sit on. I was sitting on a bench and realized that I could call my friend in Arkansas. She didn’t answer, but I left a message figuring she would not answer for a stranger. She called back and we talked for 45 minutes, our first time to connect. I do not have reception here in the house.
