  1. Ouch.

    The truth hurts.

“FCC Chairman To Chinese Spokesperson: Can I Speak To This Long List Of “Disappeared” Coronavirus Whistleblowers?”

“Last Sunday the NY Times published a piece by China’s ambassador to America titled “China and the U.S. Must Cooperate Against Coronavirus.” On the surface it’s meant to sound like polite international blather about unity but what it mostly sounds like is Chinese propaganda about their terrific response to the virus. Here’s a sample:

Let’s acknowledge there has been unpleasant talk between our nations about this disease. But this is not the time for finger-pointing. This is a time for solidarity, collaboration and mutual support…

At a time when solidarity is essential, we need to keep cool heads and clearly say “no” to the folly of fanning racism and xenophobia, and to scapegoating other countries or races.

A shorter version would say: Stop blaming the virus on the CCP! Notice there’s no mention of China’s global PR effort to blame the virus on U.S. soldiers. As of today, the Chinese foreign ministry spokesman who spread that lie is still on the job.

On Tuesday a State Department spokesperson offered a response to the ambassador’s piece which had the same superficially friendly tone and the same underlying edge. It asked that international teams be allowed to “investigate how the outbreak began in China.” That’s more subtle than saying “Chinese virus” as Trump has done but the point is pretty much the same. And for good measure she threw in a request that China “allow citizens free speech.””

“And that’s when FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr dropped the hammer on the Chinese flak by asking to speak to a number of Chinese whistleblowers who have disappeared, starting with Dr. Ai Fen and followed by Chen Qiushi and Fang Bin.”

    And he just keeps going.

  2. You want conspiracy theories?

    I gotcha covered.

“HUGE EXCLUSIVE: Chinese Doctor Shi Zhengli Ran Coronavirus Research in Wuhan After US Project Was Shut Down by DHS in 2014 for Being Too Risky — PRIOR LEAK KILLED RESEARCHER”

“Chinese Doctor Shi Zhengli was part of a team that working on a coronavirus project jointly with US doctors in 2014 before it was shut down by the DHS for being too risky.

After the US research project was shut down, Dr. Shi continued her coronavirus research in Wuhan, China.”

“Doctor Shi Zhengli from China was part of a team, including Doctor Ralph S. Baric, that published an article in a 2015 edition of Nature Medicine.

In the article they discussed bat coronaviruses that showed potential for human emergence. The article was published in 2015.”

“This report was published shortly after their project was defunded by the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

The HHS in 2014 sent a letter to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where they announced they were going to defund the program.

After the work stopped in the US, the Chinese moved forward with the project and ran research and development in Wuhan at the Wuhan Virology Center. From Shi Zhengli’s papers and resume, it is clear that they successfully isolated the virus in the lab and were actively experimenting with species specie transmission.”

  3. But wait, there’s more, including animal research and testing.”

“EXCLUSIVE: Dr. Shi Zhengli and the Wuhan Institute of Virology Connected to Coronavirus EXPERIMENTED WITH LIVE ANIMALS …And We Have Proof!”

“It’s also important to note that back in 2017 we had solid intelligence about a viral leak in a high security Chinese virology R&D center that resulted in the SARS virus getting out and killing people.

This information provides a basis that contradicts the theory that COVID-19 is a variant that just magically mutated in a bat in the wild and then jumped to a human when they ate a delicious bowl of bat soup.

From all of the published research papers that relate to this project going back to 2014, it’s clear that COVID-19 was already in a lab. It’s difficult to tell if the release was intentional or accidental.

In 2017, the Chinese had a similar release incident that sickened eight people and killed one. It started when two workers at a Chinese CDC lab independently isolated and experimented in vitro/vivo a SARS virus. In one of these sessions the scientists took a previously unknown variant of the SARS virus and moved it out from a BSL-4 high-containment facility into a low-safety diarrhea research lab where the two were working. Apparently, the virus inactivation process didn’t work properly and both were infected at the lab and then proceeded to infect other people outside of the lab.

Two days ago we noted that the Wuhan Institute of Virology in Wuhan, Hubei Province in China was hiring individuals for an ecological study of bat migration and virus transmission in November of 2019.

We now know from Dr. Shi’s resume and papers that she was still working on the coronavirus at that time:”

“According to National Review, on December 24, 2019, the Wuhan Institute of Virology posted a second job posting.

We now know that the researchers at the Wuhan Institute of Virology were experimenting with live animals and working on the China coronavirus in a lab in Wuhan for years.”

  4. Remember these folks during this crisis and the invaluable service they provide us. Because if you have it, a trucker brought it.

“Chet Eby is making sure you are going to get all of the bacon you need for breakfast, or maple-glazed ham for that now-modified family Easter dinner you are going to make, or that thinly sliced prosciutto and provolone sandwich you’ve been craving. It is a Wednesday afternoon, and the 31-year-old has his young sons, Austin and Evan, with him hauling a load of piglets from Cumberland County to Iowa, one of millions of road warriors behind the wheel of a truck traveling across the country every hour of every day making sure the food and necessities you need and enjoy are available at your local grocers.

“I am hauling baby pigs from where they’re born in Pennsylvania to the farms where they fatten them out in Iowa,” he said from his starting point. He is heading out to Iowa with his truck filled with 20-pound pigs. “So on our end of it with farmers, every eight weeks, a new litter of pigs is born, and we have to get the little ones out of the barn, the barn needs to be empty so the next batch can come.”

“If we don’t transport freight, the country comes to a standstill,” Eby says matter-of-factly.”

““We have about 4,000 tractor-trailers nationwide with about 25 locations across the country,” said Jim Richards, CEO of KLLM.

    And they haven’t stopped moving.

There are over 3.5 million professional truck drivers in the United States, according to the American Trucking Associations, which deliver billions of tons of freight from one place to the other every year.

In the weeks since the coronavirus has spread across the country, KLLM truckers are the men and women who are making sure perishable foods and pharmaceuticals are delivered across the lower 48 states and Mexico, never stopping or slowing down your ability to get what you need — despite all of the barriers, restrictions, and complications of the coronavirus.”

  5. The latest strategy?

“Media’s Latest Strategy To Fight Trump: Remove Him From His Press Conferences

After failing to censor President Trump’s press conferences, media are working on a new plan of pressuring him to remove himself from his press conferences.”

“For years, the media complained that President Donald Trump wasn’t holding enough press conferences. Now, as the media’s poor performance in his daily coronavirus press conferences is on worldwide display, they’re begging him to leave his own press conferences, and leave them alone to craft their anti-Trump storylines.

When March polls showed Trump receiving unusually high marks for his handling of the Coronavirus pandemic, and the media receiving their traditionally low marks for it, many journalists began pushing for censorship of the press conferences. While many outlets tried this approach, it obviously failed with viewers who turned to other outlets for the news they sought.

The media, however, continued to be mocked for the prevalence of silly and unserious questions from reporters who clearly think they come off better outside their echo chambers than they do:”

“In an attempt to regain control, the media have shifted to a new approach. Trump’s daily press conferences with updates on the Wuhan Coronavirus pandemic are actually bad for him, yeah that’s the ticket!

The New York Times’ Jonathan Martin and Maggie Haberman, who would be known for their extreme anti-Trump posture and histrionic analysis if it weren’t shared by nearly everyone else in the White House press corps, laid out their case in a tendentious essay that the usual followers at many media outlets echoed throughout the day.

The article claims that “White House allies and Republican lawmakers” — not the embarrassed media — are deeply concerned by the briefings. Sen. Lindsay Graham, a South Carolina Republican known for nightly telling television audiences his senate committee will someday do things in response to horrific wrongdoing by the agencies they oversee, said Trump should drop the press conferences to once a week. Sniping also came in, reportedly, from Sen. Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia and Representative Susan Brooks of Indiana.

Martin and Haberman emphasized that polling shows Trump trails governors and medical experts in surveys of who the public trusts. However, they noticeably failed to mention that the media trails far behind all of them, and is the only group underwater out of all the institutions and public leaders surveyed. Whereas Trump has a 22-point net approval rating in the poll they mentioned, the media’s net approval rating was negative 11 points, a 33-point difference. That very important and relevant fact was studiously hidden by Martin and Haberman from the public, as per usual.”

  6. And in other news…..

The slow speed train wreck that was the Russia Farce continues.

We know know the Steele Dossier was likely Russian intelligence information, spread with the help of the Democrats, the FBI and the complicit media.

It was the Democrats, the Clinton campaign, FBI, and media who were actually working for the Russians. They did a far better job of pushing the Russian disinformation propaganda than the Russians ever could have hoped.

“‘Ironic’: Declassified footnotes show Steele dossier likely compromised by Russian intelligence”

“Declassified footnotes from the Justice Department watchdog report on the FBI’s Russia investigation revealed new details indicating British ex-spy Christoper Steele’s dossier was likely compromised by disinformation efforts carried out by Russian intelligence.

The footnotes, which were previously redacted, were made available for the public to see on Friday through a declassification determination made by Attorney General William Barr at the request of Senate Homeland Security Chairman Ron Johnson of Wisconsin and Senate Finance Chairman Chuck Grassley of Iowa.

In the report released in December, DOJ inspector general Michael Horowitz described “Person 1″ as a “key Steele sub-source,” who was attributed with providing information in Steele’s dossier. The newly unmasked details show that a document circulated among members of the Crossfire Hurricane team in early October 2016 showed that Person 1 had “historical contact with persons and entities suspected of being linked to RIS” — or Russian Intelligence Services. The document described reporting that Person 1 “was rumored to be a former KGB/SVR officer.” Further, the declassified footnote shows in late December 2016 DOJ official Bruce Ohr told SSA 1, believed to be FBI agent Joseph Pientka, that he had met with Fusion GPS founder Glenn Simpson, who assessed that Person 1 was an “RIS officer” central in connecting President Trump to Russia.

The newly declassified footnotes also show the Crossfire Hurricane team received information from a still-redacted source “indicating the potential for Russian disinformation influencing Steele’s election reporting” seemingly related to the biggest salacious and unverified claims in Steele’s dossier — that Trump watched prostitutes urinate on a bed in Moscow during the Miss Universe Pageant in 2013 and that former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen met with shady Russians in Prague in 2016.

The Justice Department additionally indicated that one footnote that wasn’t declassified related to a foreign government effort to “penetrate” a business associate with Steele, a likely reference to his private research company, Orbis Business Intelligence.

“It’s ironic that the Russian collusion narrative was fatally flawed because of Russian disinformation. These footnotes confirm that there was a direct Russian disinformation campaign in 2016, and there were ties between Russian intelligence and a presidential campaign — the Clinton campaign, not Trump’s,” Grassley and Johnson said Friday.”

  7. So those “principled” Never-Trumpers at the Lincoln Project have come out and officially endorsed Biden. Because that’s what real conservatives would do, right?

Ummm….. no. They do this for the oldest reason in the book. It pays well to be anti-Trump, if you don’t mind taking money from groups and people who are the anti to the conservatives values they say they hold and are against everything a conservative would be for.

    It’s all about the cash.

    They’re soooooo “principled”….

  8. Throw the book at them. Make a most harsh example of them.

“Justice Dept announces arrest in multimillion-dollar COVID-19 scheme”

“A Georgia man was arrested on Friday for trying to defraud the Veterans Affairs Department out of millions of dollars, in one of the first big coronavirus related fraud cases brought by the Justice Department’s new COVID-19 Hoarding and Price Gouging task force.

Christopher Parris allegedly told the VA he had 125 million 3M masks and would sell them for $6.45 each. In fact, the equipment for sale did not exist, and the exchange would have totaled over $750 million. Lawyers for 3M say that these masks are typically sold for $.60 to $1.20 each. Parris is accused of exploiting the COVID-19 pandemic and trying to “obtain large upfront payments for scarce PPE that Parris knows he cannot fully obtain or deliver,” according to a Justice Department affadavit supporting the complaint.

“We are still investigating,” a DOJ official told CBS News. “But we have been able to demonstrate as set forth in the complaint that orders, significant orders of…several million dollars were made by entities to the defendants. And there were attempts that we know of to date to gain money by representations that we allege to be fraudulent, that were in the hundreds of millions of dollars.”

The complaint alleges that law enforcement was tipped off to Parris’ scheme in late March, while the VA office of the inspector general was investigating “Company A,” a Louisiana-based company that says it sells industrial safety supplies. “Person B,” an agent of the company, offered an undercover agent 3M 8210 and 1860 respiratory masks at the price of $7.13 per mask, with a minimum purchase of 1 million masks. The masks, the individual said, would be manufactured at plants in California and Illinois. But 3M has not converted those facilities to make masks. Person B identified Parris and his company, Encore Health, as one of Company A’s suppliers.

In another attempted transaction, Person B also spoke with an undercover Homeland Security officer who was pretending to be a procurement officer for the state of Louisiana, and offered to sell Louisiana large quantities of 3M N95 masks, isolation gowns and Tyvek suits, all of which have been difficult to secure during the coronavirus crisis. Person B offered a quote of $7.25 per 3M mask.

At the same time, the Louisiana Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) purchased over $7 million in orders from Company A. However, Louisiana has so far only received about 40,000 chemical suits, which cost the state $794,000. Person B later said that Parris and Encore Health were to supply the PPE for the Louisiana contract.”

  9. The SARS virus, which was more deadly (10 percent) and originated from civet cats, is not the same as COVID-19. They are related in that they are both coronaviruses, but so is MERS, which has an even higher fatality rate (30 percent) than SARS, and MERS originated in the Middle East, and came from camels. American scientists studying the COVID-19 virus have verified that its genetic backbone is inherently different from SARS or MERS, while being very similar to a coronavirus identified in bats: https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2020/03/200317175442.htm. Moreover, the cardiac damage being seen from COVID-19 is new, as that was not seen in either SARS or MERS. It is a completely new disease to humans and it is not manmade.

Science fiction has wildly exaggerated what humans can manufacture. The extremely sophisticated genetic coding necessary to create a viable virus is beyond human capability. As the above link states, humans would have to start with pre-existing viruses to try to make a new one, and this one does not bear the earmarks of that. Even if humans did cobble together a virus from spare virus parts as it were, it would be unlikely to work, as DNA and RNA have layered codes, over top of the genetic codes, that we know are necessary for the reading and reproduction of the genetic code, but that we still do not fully understand and thus would not be able to account for. Just sticking together different viral parts would wipe out those all layered codes and render any such manufactured virus null and void.

History is littered with deadly epidemics that swept the world and nature has already created far more deadly viruses in the wild. Epidemiologists have been watching and warning for years that we were due for another epidemic, just from observing the laws of nature. It is not magic when a virus jumps from animals to human, it is a natural process, called viral mutation. Viruses can pick up new genetic material as they force host cells to use their DNA and RNA replication to manufacture new copies of the virus. Animals have enough similar cell characteristics to humans that viruses can cross from an animal to a human in close contact. The virus may then pick up genetic material to adapt to human to human transmission. Such a process can take years and many viruses never make the transition completely, which is why the extremely deadly Avian flu and Nipah virus, which have killed humans in contact with infected animals, have not yet become widespread. The most deadly virus known is zoonotic in origin, but still is limited to animal to human spread. Rabies is 100 percent fatal to infected humans and animals without vaccination. But deadly endemic and epidemic viruses in humans, such as Ebola, Spanish influenza, hantavirus, and dengue fever are all from zoonotic (animal) origin.

  10. Any number of scientists at anytime are studying viruses in animals around the world. Bats are know to be carriers of an enormous number of viruses – including Ebola and rabies – and so are particularly targeted for study. Shi Zengli is not the only Chinese scientist who studies them. The name of Tian Junhua is also being bandied about in conspiracy theories. But, spreading such theories is a two way street, and Russia, Iran, and China itself have tried the rumour game, because there are plenty of American scientists known to be studying coronaviruses and plenty known to be studying bats. The epidemic of Ebola that hit the Congo and only just ended before this epidemic began, was seriously hampered in being stopped, even though the vaccine is effective, because of the rumours being spread that Ebola had been deliberately manufactured, and the vaccines were just a ploty to infect people. Apparently, the mostly educated and literate West is as vulnerable to conspiracy theories as the mostly uneducated and illiterate Congolese, because the same kinds of rumours are being spread and swallowed. To paraphrase what Jesus said of the Pharisees, Westerners are bearing witness that they are the children of those who spread rumours during the Black Death that Jews had made the disease.

Oh please. Self-righteous much are you? Now anyone who considers it is just like an anti-Semite? That’s a ridiculous comparison.

I made it obvious it’s considered a conspiracy theory, folks can judge their “evidence,” which they seem to have quite a bit of, for themselves.

    Save your faux indignation.

  12. “FDA Moves Israeli COVID-19 Treatment With 100% Survival Rate Into Clinical Trials”

“Some hopeful news. One Israeli company has created a treatment for the Wuhan Coronavirus that has thus far proved to be 100 percent effective in treating the virus.

According to the Jerusalem Post, the company Pluristem created a placenta-based cell-therapy that has not only helped patients survive but also improve respiratory parameters to boot. These patients were in dire straights while being tested with organ failures across the board:

The patients were treated at three different Israeli medical centers for one week under the country’s compassionate use program and were suffering from acute respiratory failure and inflammatory complications associated with COVID-19. Four of the patients also demonstrated failure of other organ systems, including cardiovascular and kidney failure.

Not only have all the patients survived, according to Pluristem, but four of them showed improvement in respiratory parameters and three of them are in the advanced stages of weaning from ventilators. Moreover, two of the patients with preexisting medical conditions are showing clinical recovery in addition to the respiratory improvement.

“We are pleased with this initial outcome of the compassionate use program and committed to harnessing PLX cells for the benefit of patients and healthcare systems,” said Pluristem CEO and president Yaky Yanay. “Pluristem is dedicated to using its competitive advantages in large-scale manufacturing to potentially deliver PLX cells to a large number of patients in significant need.”

The Jerusalem Post reported that the company plans to apply to multiple nations to begin clinical trials for complications associated with Cornavirus symptoms. This includes the FDA in the United States who Pluristem is already talking with in order to “define our clinical strategy for COVID-19.”

  13. Creepy Joe has some ‘splainin’ to do.

“Biden accuser Tara Reade files criminal complaint over alleged sexual assault

Reade claims Biden assaulted her in 1993 when she worked in his Senate office”

“Business Insider reported that “Late Thursday afternoon, Reade filed a report of the incident with the sexual assault unit of the Washington, DC, Metropolitan Police Department.” The outlet also noted that “the statue of limitations for the alleged assault has passed.”

Reade herself tweeted out the article while praising “the brave journalists” reporting her story and expressed her gratitude toward advocates who have “stood by” her. She also acknowledged that the statute of limitations had run, and explained that she filed the “police report for safety reasons only.”

  14. The Real, I made no analogies to anti-Semitism, never even crossed my mind. The spreading of rumours about the Jews during the Black Death was less due to racial prejudice and more due to the tendency of human nature to look for a scapegoat when things get out of control. My comment you quoted was a reflection on human nature in general, not a personal attack. I see posts every day on FB from people I know to be same and well educated, making the wildest claims: that the virus was deliberately manufactured, that the vaccine being developed is a ploy to insert a device that syncs with 5G, that the organization behind it all is Satanic, and that those who disbelieve these theories are ‘sheep’ and ‘blind’. My comment was a reflection on all that.

  15. More corruption;

I really don’t think Trump wants to exchange sexual assault accusations with Biden — dirt won’t win this election. Get Out The Vote will win it — and if Wisconsin is any example, voter suppression is on full court press by the Republicans.

  16. AJ – I did not see Roscuro’s comment to be directed at you personally, but to be a commentary on the current conspiracy theories that even seemingly intelligent people are believing.

  17. The people in Wisconsin had a whole month to vote. The governor had plenty of time to figure things out. The whole Republican suppressing the vote is total nonsense.

  18. Well then Roscuro, my apologies.

And just one more thing. People who aren’t at least willing to consider alternate theories and read the “evidence” folks present, often miss the truth of the matter that’s right in front of them.

Just something to think about. And again, my apologies.

  19. Someone in the CNN control room is getting fired. 🙂

“Someone in the CNN control room was asleep at the wheel Thursday during a town hall event with Anderson Cooper, Dr. Sanjay Gupta and CDC Director Robert Redfield, accidentally letting a question about Trump Derangement Syndrome make it on screen.

When the audience was asked to send questions for Redfield, one that managed to make it on air was: “Is Stage-4 TDS considered an underlying morbidity?”

While it was only up for a few seconds and Cooper never acknowledged it, the prank didn’t escape careful observers. “
