Prayer Requests 4-1-20

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget Ajissun and the folks in The Gambia.

Anyone else?

Psalm 58

Do you rulers indeed speak justly?
    Do you judge people with equity?
No, in your heart you devise injustice,
    and your hands mete out violence on the earth.

Even from birth the wicked go astray;
    from the womb they are wayward, spreading lies.
Their venom is like the venom of a snake,
    like that of a cobra that has stopped its ears,
that will not heed the tune of the charmer,
    however skillful the enchanter may be.

Break the teeth in their mouths, O God;
    Lord, tear out the fangs of those lions!
Let them vanish like water that flows away;
    when they draw the bow, let their arrows fall short.
May they be like a slug that melts away as it moves along,
    like a stillborn child that never sees the sun.

Before your pots can feel the heat of the thorns—
    whether they be green or dry—the wicked will be swept away.
10 The righteous will be glad when they are avenged,
    when they dip their feet in the blood of the wicked.
11 Then people will say,
    “Surely the righteous still are rewarded;
    surely there is a God who judges the earth.”

  1. The FB page for The Gambia said the clinic had tested a suspected case of the virus. I think they are bracing themselves. If there are ventilators in the country, they would only be found in the capital, and medical care priority is all too often based on wealth or rank, something that we had to try to work around all the time, as those who knew they had higher social standing would often take it for granted that they should be seen first.

  2. Prayer for Kare.
    Prayer for seventh son who may finally be opening his eyes. He planned to come up here and I told him he is not welcome to stop by here. His boss farmer would hire him for some farm work but would not throw back a beer with him. Same with the crop duster. He seems to think he can just do whatever and is beginning to realize this is not a game to most people. Even his sister told him not to come over to visit her and the twins. I sent him the video of the Idaho nurse who went from healthy to ventilator in a matter of hours. He canceled his plans and will remain in his fifth wheel. May God work on his heart.
