Prayer Requests 6-5-18

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 116:1-7

I love the Lord, for he heard my voice;
    he heard my cry for mercy.
Because he turned his ear to me,
    I will call on him as long as I live.

The cords of death entangled me,
    the anguish of the grave came over me;
    I was overcome by distress and sorrow.
Then I called on the name of the Lord:
    Lord, save me!”

The Lord is gracious and righteous;
    our God is full of compassion.
The Lord protects the unwary;
    when I was brought low, he saved me.

Return to your rest, my soul,
    for the Lord has been good to you.

  1. Nightingale has been keeping to herself the past couple days, which is unusual for her. Yesterday, we didn’t talk at all before she left for work in the afternoon – very unusual. Today, we have talked a bit, at my initiation, as I needed to ask her something and tell her something. She seems to be in a bad mood, or very tired at the least.

    Oh, she did initiate one time when we talked today, to tell me not to respond to any texts I might get from X. She said she heard from his mom that he has not been communicating with her, which Nightingale says is always a bad sign. Whenever he gets mad at his mom and cuts off communication with her, it usually means his behavior and attitude are going out of control in some way.

    Anyway, I know that Nightingale has more stress and anxiety than she likes to let on. I see evidence of it at times. Please pray for my Nightingale, that whatever is on her mind and heart will drive her to finally surrender to God. Also, please pray that both my girls will somehow see God’s love, grace, and peace through me today as we get together later for dinner. (And a prayer for X’s salvation would be appreciated, too.) Thank you.

    As I was proofreading this, I got a text from Nightingale which explains what is going on with her. Beau has not been communicating with her since she last saw him last Tuesday, and along with that, she has not been sleeping much.

  2. Prayers, Kizzie. And I’m sorry about the VA pension business you wrote about on yesterday’s daily thread.

    Janice, from yesterday’s prayer thread: thanks for asking about hubby. His pain levels are improved, and he’s functioning quite a bit better. He still has physical therapy two times a week, and estimates that’ll continue maybe another couple of weeks. Definite progress now, and we’re grateful for the many prayers that have gone up.

  3. Update on a prayer request from last week:

    I wrote the letter to the president of our state IMT (independent music teachers) organization, regarding an issue affecting my student (and apparently other students in the state).

    Sunday I got an email summarizing the minutes of a meeting in which my concerns were discussed. Then yesterday, I received a cordial reply from the president himself.

    The issue I wrote about has now resulted in a changed policy, exactly as I had hoped!

    Thank you for those prayers, that I write a professional and dispassionate letter. And if you would continue praying a bit, there is still the matter of someone needing to go back into the computer system to retroactively apply the policy to help the affected students.

    Thank you, all.

  4. I would like to request prayer for a young woman — the one whom 3rd Arrow helped move the other night. (I briefly mentioned on yesterday’s daily thread daughter’s helping this friend.)

    I think the woman is about 18 years old (that’s what daughter estimates), and she’s a former co-worker of my daughter. The move appeared to be something that had to be done quickly, and, from what daughter said, it appears that the woman was evicted.

    She has a two-year-old daughter.

    There were two young men who helped with the move for a very short time, but most of it was on 3rd Arrow to help her friend that night. Daughter didn’t see any of the woman’s family there to help out.

    Just a really sad situation.

    She’s been on my mind and in my prayers the last couple days. Will you join me in praying for her and her daughter? (Woman is H, daughter is A.)

    Thank you.
