Prayer Requests 1-17-18

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget Ajisuun and The Gambia.

Anyone else?

Psalm 131

My heart is not proud, Lord,
    my eyes are not haughty;
  I do not concern myself with great matters
    or things too wonderful for me.
But I have calmed and quieted myself,
    I am like a weaned child with its mother;
    like a weaned child I am content.

Israel, put your hope in the Lord
    both now and forevermore.

  1. Indeed, Kim.

    My BIL had another heart attack. He has had a quadruple by-pass. The prognosis on this is not good, although he was the one to call us. Pray for wisdom for all. (This is not the one taken by ambulance to the hospital recently and who is still in the nursing home.)

  2. I don’t know what to do about my back. I haven’t had pain like this in 20 years–last time I threw out my back–and even lamaze breathing isn’t helping. Off to call the doctor, but I know there’s little that can be done.

    Feeling helpless this morning. AND I can’t figure out the Utmost, either.

    Woe is me!

    All right, I’m listening to Mumsee’s silent thoughts and choosing to thank God and get moving. Thanks, Mumsee! xoxox

  3. Nope, I would have said thank God and stop. Use the time stopped for time in the Word, praying for us at the nest and others, another good book, watching, but resting on a heating pad. Taking the antiinflammatory. Sometimes God calls us to stop.

  4. Doc’s office said to go between hot and cold, take Aleve and call back if not improved by Friday. Heating pad is better than the ice, but a nurse friend had said only ice. I like the heat better.

    Cannot really sit still, pain keeps driving me to shift positions, etc. 😦

    Whining done a second time.

  5. Michelle – A year ago, I had a very painful injury in an area somewhere between my right hip and my lower back on that side (and it just did its occasional twinge as I am trying this). I learned at that time that heat is recommended for the lower back, and ice for every place else. (That left me wondering where the pain was really coming from, and which temp to use, since it radiated around. Not sure the heating pad worked, but it sure was relaxing.)

  6. 😦 Michelle.

    Kizzie, it is my husband’s brother and brother of the one who is in the nursing home until Friday. My husband talked to him this evening and heard they will be doing surgery in the morning. They have had some success with the type of surgery they are doing. He is a believer. He has one son who is definitely not. They do believe it is in God’s hands.

  7. Michelle, I would lie on the floor, with my feet up on the couch for an hour or two. I have had my “back go out” and fixed it this way.
