Prayer Requests 12-14-17

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her students, and the people of PNG.

Anyone else?

Psalm 119:65-72

65 Do good to your servant
    according to your word, Lord.
66 Teach me knowledge and good judgment,
    for I trust your commands.
67 Before I was afflicted I went astray,
but now I obey your word.
68 You are good, and what you do is good;
    teach me your decrees.
69 Though the arrogant have smeared me with lies,
I keep your precepts with all my heart.
70 Their hearts are callous and unfeeling,
but I delight in your law.
71 It was good for me to be afflicted
so that I might learn your decrees.
72 The law from your mouth is more precious to me
than thousands of pieces of silver and gold.

  1. Some good news from home: We’re closer to deciding what to do for life insurance, with one of hubby’s policies expiring next year. You may recall that hubby wanted me to decide, then, after I’d made my recommendations, he decided he wanted to do something different, and went to see the involved agents alone.

Well, he didn’t actually change anything, but just sought information. I was happy when he told me this week that he had an appointment set up to talk to an agent he knows well and trusts, and would I like to come along to this meeting.

So that is progress, that hubby sought to include me so that we could work together on this. Our meeting with the agent has just taken place, and it went well, too.

Thank you for all your prayers for us over the last however long you’ve been praying. I see more hope today. Praise God!

If you would now pray for wisdom for us as we go forth from here, deciding how much additional insurance to buy, and for how long, I’d surely appreciate it!

  2. Thanking God & breathing a huge sigh of relief! I called the insurance company this morning, & they do indeed take care of that form. They will be filling it out & sending it to me. Thank you to anyone who prayed about this.

Here’s “the rest of the story”: I had already googled for info about the form, & didn’t find anything helpful. Due to the fatigue & stress I’d been feeling, I gave myself the next day “off”.

On Tuesday night, knowing I would be renewing my quest for information on the form the next day, I prayed for God to guide me, to help me even “stumble” upon the right site to find the info or to give me a clue of where to look next.

That is exactly what happened! I “stumbled” across the website of another insurance company that mentioned that they fill out the form for their customers, which led me to look into Hubby’s insurance company. I ran out of time to call yesterday (& was frustrated to not find a website for them), but made the call this morning after my usual morning chores.

Again, I am so relieved! And so thankful to God for leading me to the answer.

  3. So many of us are dealing with insurance! I praise God that I got covered by tomorrow’s deadline although I did not get vision and dental covered as hoped for. And I praise God the 6 and Kizzie are getting positive results to their needs.

As I was just composing this post, my friend Karen called and said her daughter and husband can not take her to the hospital and she needs to go. She can’t keep anything on her stomach. I advised her to call an ambulance. Please pray for her. Things have been really bad for her medically and with family relationships.
