Peter’s Pack of Pickled Pigskin Picks- Week 11

This week is hard to pick. A lot of the best teams are playing easy games. While it would be nice for someone to get all ten games correct for once, I wouldn’t want everyone doing so. Therefore, along with some of the blog favorites, I picked some games that involve Top 25 teams, or other games with evenly matched teams, including the Pillow Fight. And I think for the first time there are four teams from Texas. I must have a disease or something. Thus, I present your Week 11 choices:

  1. #13 Baylor @ #18 Oklahoma – Could this one decide the Big 12?

  2. #10 Notre Dame @ #9 Arizona State – I can’t remember these two ever meeting. Not that I care about either team.

  3. #5 Alabama @ #16 LSU – About the only SEC game that seems it’ll be a contest.

  4. Texas A&M @ #3 Auburn – Okay, so there are two SEC games of interest.

  5. #16 Ohio State @ #8 Michigan State – This game is more important than OSU-Michigan later on.

  6. Louisville @ Boston College – Haven’t had the ACC here much. So here they are.

  7. Boise State @ New Mexico – Broncos and Lobos (Wolves). A true wild West match-up.

  8. Colorado @ #19 Arizona – My Wildcats still have a slim chance in the PAC-12 South. This will help.

  9. Pillow Fight SMU (0-7) @ Tulsa (1-7) – I guess in the big scheme, this is meaningless. But it’s fun!

  10. Tie Breaker #20 WVU @ Texas – Tychicus chose this one. Guess the winner and the score.

The first game is at 12 noon EST Saturday, so get your picks in by then, whether you live in Georgia, USA or Georgia in Asia.

Winner decided on Sunday or Monday, depending on how busy I am.

  1. My picks:

    1. Oklahoma – It’s OK.
    2. ASU – Holding my nose since I don’t like either team.
    3. ‘Bama – Though LSU is a very good team at home.
    4. Auburn – A&M hasn’t shown much interest in beating better teams lately.
    5. MSU – Home field advantage, I guess.
    6. BC – Same as above.
    7. BSU – UNM is not a great team.
    8. Arizona – BEAR DOWN, Wildcats!
    9. Tulsa – See #5 above.
    10. WVU 28-21 I would go this route even if I thought Texas were a better team. Don’t like those Longhorns.

  3. Nothing going on today that really interests me.
I’m hoping Virginia can beat Florida State, and that
    Vanderbilt can beat Florida.
    But I don’t believe either.

  4. Note to kbells: You still need to post your pick for the Colorado-Arizona game. Since it doesn’t start until 8PM EST, you have 9 hours from now.

  5. 😦 Wisconsin is beating up on Purdue. Judging from the TV shots of the Purdue stadium, it doesn’t look much better than when I was there. If the Boilermakers want to play big time, they need to do something to the facility. It hurts recruiting.
    And the stands weren’t filled.
They aren’t serious in West Lafayette.

  6. Some schools are like that. When I was there, they were satisfied if they could beat Notre Dame and Indiana. South Carolina only cared about the Clemson game.
It’s no longer that way in Columbia.

  7. Since I stayed up late to watch the exciting finish of the Bama-LSU game, I went ahead and calculated the winner. It’s TRW with 7 correct! Many of the games were unanimous choices for us, with one of those going against us all (OSU beating MSU). All but one chose WVU over Texas, and TRW was the one who chose the winner (Texas). Only one person guessed the winner of the tie breaker, but missed 4 games. So congratulations TRW!

    Here are our results:
    7 correct- TRW
6- Tychicus (the only one to get the tie breaker correct), AJ, Chas & kbells.
    5- Myself, IBNO and Ricky.

    Actual scores:
    Baylor 48 Oklahoma 14
    ASU 55 ND 31
    Bama 20 LSU 13 OT
    TA&M 41 Auburn 38
    OSU 49 MichSt 37
    Louisville 38 BC 19
Boise 60 NMex 49 (looks more like a basketball score)
    Ariz 38 Colorado 20
    Tulsa 38 SMU 28
    Texas 33 WVU 16

So, Ricky, get the game TRW wants for the tie breaker next week and let me know.

  8. Chas, no none is going to beat Florida State or Oregon. Since neither is playing anyone serious for the rest of the season both will cruise to the end. Meanwhile the top ranked SEC teams will have to fight to the bitter end.

  9. TRW had a good week. He passed the Bar Exam and he won this contest. He will be at the Texas A&M/Missouri game,so he wants it to be the tie-breaker.
