Psalm 91:1-4
1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
Praising God for all the ways He is working in the lives of those who participate here at Wandering Views.

Amen Janice.
Asking for prayer. The situation with our HOA has escalated to four members asking for the resignation or dismissal of the other two. Attorney is involved and I feel as though I need a shower after every confrontation…I desire to be a peacemaker…and I see clearly the two are being deceptive, manipulative, conniving and downright nasty…asking our Lord for direction…and peace…one of the offending members is a professing believer….

Prayer for the salvation of the gangsta wannabe. He wants to believe, he sees the changing hearts, he believes he is too bad for God.

Mumsee,
I had that problem too. After all, what would a decent and loving God want with a wretch like me? I still struggle at times, when I think of some of the things I’ve done. But God forgives when asked. Sometimes though, forgiving yourself is the hardest part.
If I may make a recommendation to you I will give you the advice that a very wise man named Ira once gave me. He told me that when doubt about such things came into my mind I should consider some other men who came long before me. Men like David. Imperfect men, with much to be forgiven for, yet God thru His grace did just that when they repented and sought Him. Point him to the Psalms. They show in many cases that the struggles that David had are the same ones he’s feeling today. The Psalms are a favorite of mine for this reason.
Also Saul. There’s no better example in my opinion. He was a very bad man, changed by the grace of God. Tell him to check out Acts around the end of chapter 7 thru the end of chapter 9. If God can forgive Saul, then surely there is hope for him too.
Point the young man there. It worked for me. In fact, still does.

We’re all so entirely, utterly unworthy.
But God’s grace … well.
That is why any of us can ever only saved by grace alone, amen?
Point him also to the Pharisee and tax gatherer praying together in the temple. Which one goes away justified?

Mumsee, good advice from the others above. If you read the post on the daily thread about my friend who commited suicide, I was so upset and worried she had gone to hell because that was her last act. I talked to a Christian counselor who told me that God looks at the whole life and not just one specific event. That helped me to feel peace about my friend. So perhaps that could encourage your son. He has a long life ahead of him and God will judge the whole of his life, not just what he has done in the past. Also when he is a believer and God looks at him, Father God sees the righteousness of His Son Jesus as a covering over all those past sins. They are as far as the east is from the west.

NancyJill, my older friend who was President of a condo complex association had such horrible experiences and said she was afraid of tarnishing her Christian witness. She cried over all the stress and nastiness of those involved. I know when people have the experience and skill set to be involved in such matters that they are wanting mostly to serve others, but some see it as an opportunity to have greater power and control over other people.
Prayers for you as you enter into the battlezone and try to bring peace not through your own effort but by the power of God. May His power embolden you to speak peace into the situation, and may He choose to put a clamp on the mouths of those who are self-serving. All in His good will and in the name of Jesus, Amen

I only refer to him as a gangsta wannabe on here, so you will know where he is. I refer to him as my politician to be as he is quite interested in history and the government process in person.

Well, I give up. I have to ask for prayer.
I slipped and fell very hard Monday morning on my tail bone and smacked my head against the wall. (I’m very thankful I hit the wall, a foot further north and I would have gone down hard on tile). I’ve been taking it easy all week, sitting on a donut, skipping gym and so forth, because I have a three hour drive tomorrow.
I’m just in from walking around the lake, something I normally do several times a week without a second thought. Today I’m a hurting unit. The hills really caused me to hurt.
I’m attending the Mount Hermon Christian Writers’ Conference (where I’ll see Lynn Vincent), and I’ve learned my room is going to be down a steep hillside. Just a little nervous about that.
But as my prayer partner and I were praying this morning, I realized I’ve had a whole bunch of “nuisance” things happen to encourage me not to go. I’ve been a Christian long enough to see that as spiritual warfare. I cannot begin to image why my not going would be such a big deal, but apparently forces are at work to encourage me to stay home.
I’m going.
Please pray my tail bone situation doesn’t flare too badly and that my eyes and heart would be open to whatever it is God has for me–probably to do or say to someone–at Mount Hermon.
I’ll be back on Tuesday. Thanks.

Lotsa people gonna be gone a while. 😦
I’ll remember that Michelle.
The best example of forgiveness of wickedness is right in the Bible. Nobody was worse than King Manasseh. II Chronicles 33
The LORD had him captured and taken to Babylon where he repented. There is a prayer in the Apocrypha called “The Prayer of Manasseh”. Not canonical, but it’s mentioned in II Chron. 33:18.
I have heard that two of the Sharon Tate murderers, one woman I don’t remember and “Tex” Watson have become Christians.

Feel better michelle! Ouch, that hurt just reading it.
Regarding being good enough — or our sanctification — I spotted this on Twitter tonight:
