  1. Good morning to all. It looks to be a beautiful day here. I hope to get some raking in again. I also plan to bake some gluten free chocolate chip cookies for our granddaughter who should be up this weekend. Looking forward to seeing her and other family members then. In the meantime, there is much to be done.

  2. Good morning . Rain here.

Thank you for the anniversary greetings. I think Kim and MrP share an anniversary date with us.

We are getting ready to make a trip. We will be going to the Ark Adventure in Kentucky. The plan is to hit as many states as possible. We are going by way of the Natchez Trace Trail.

  3. Good morning!

Gluten free chocolate chip cookies sound great. Do you use rice flour or almond flour or oatmeal?

RKessler, that sounds like a great vacation trip! Glad to see you here again.

It was a very chilly 58° in our house this morning Waiting to turn on the heat until later. I do sleep more soundly when the house feels cold. I may bake sweet potatoes to at least warm up the kitchen. Art has the heat turned on at his office.

  4. Heres the text I just sent Cheryl.

“So I went to the store, came home, was putting the stuff away, your container of vodka sauce fell out and split right up the side, sauce everywhere. Don’t worry, I will get you more. So first thing that happens is Zoe comes flying over. I tell her get back. She ignores me, of course, and proceeds to walk in it with her 2 front feet. I tell her get outta there! Again, my wishes are ignored, and she begins sampling the vodka sauce, and apparently it was good enough for a second sample. I cleaned it all up. So if she throws up what looks like blood, it’s not. Those are not blood stains on her white paws either. How is your day?”

  5. I use a GF mixture. This time it was Bob’s Redmill brand.

The trip sounds wonderful. We have taken many rides on the Natchez Trace portion closer to Nashville. That is a beautiful, relaxing drive, but not for those in a hurry. The Ark Encounter was interesting.

  6. Oh, my! That is not a good start to a day. I have never had Vodka sauce. What is it good for?

That is a good article, Janice. I know someone who got a letter to the effect that they hadn’t given lately and were in danger of being purged. This was a wife with children who was left alone for months at a time. Never had the church or pastor ever enquired if she needed help with anything. The letter was just the last straw and they left the church.

If someone leaves it is good to find out why. We can, as individuals be blind to our own faults. Why would that not be true for a church body, as well? People come and go for all kinds of reasons. Sometimes because they sense that you are not interested in THEM, but in what they can offer, whether monetary, talent or connections.

  7. Its Cheryl’s favorite pasta sauce. The alcohol cooks out, but a slight taste remains. I don’t much care for it, but she does. It’s quite popular, as nearly every restaurant now offers something with vodka sauce.

  8. Morning! 42 degrees and lovely here.

RK that sounds to be a fun trip. Our son lives a mile down the road from the Ark…it is a very interesting tour. Praying you have a fun safe journey.

Aj I do wish you had gotten video of the mishap…and I am certain Cheryl will be smiling and giggling all day long at work!😁 I know I would!

I recall many years ago the United Methodist church sent at letter to my parent’s home telling me I had been taken off the membership roll. I believe they had to pay the head office a certain amount for each member…I hadn’t attended since I was 16 yrs old!

It did make me sad learning the UMC seemingly harassed my elderly widowed mother for her “tithe” via phone and mail yet they never checked on her once after Dad passed away🥲

  9. I was pleasantly surprised by a text from my pastor’s son who is one of the three pastors at church where I have membership. He was previously one of my Sunday school leaders. He said God brought Art and me to mind and asked how he could pray for us. I could tell Art was touched by the text. Art has always felt that his sermons touch his heart more than any others. We have not been in person since this time last year though I attend regularly by phone call and watching online where I leave comments.

  10. I found Bob’s Red Mill unsweetened coconut at Sam’s and bought a bag. I make oatmeal with berries cinnamon, walnuts, tart cheery juice and unsweetened applesauce. I figured the coconut would be a nice addition. I layer the ingredients in a cCorning ware casserole dish and microwave for about five minutes or until no longer soggy. It makes enough for several days.

  11. When my mother died, my sister and I made a lot of phone calls. My sister called my mom’s “pastor,” and rather than saying, “I’m so sorry for your loss,” he said, “She never attended much anyway.”

“She raised seven children in the church, and all of us are still in church. You did realize that now she’s 78 and a shut-in, right?”

“Oh, I had no idea she was that old.”

Mom had attended a church across town for a dozen years (and attended pretty faithfully, singing in the choir), but found it too far to drive in her old age, so she started attending a church closer to where she was now living, and truth is she hardly ever went. Most Sundays she ended up watching a service on TV. But she also never went anywhere else, except every few days she went to the grocery store and she stopped at her mailbox on the way home to get the mail. But apparently her pastor never talked to her enough to know any of that. And because she looked 10 or 15 years younger than she was, it never occurred to him that she might be an old lady with a heart condition who might appreciate if people checked on her occasionally.

  12. Cheryl that is so sad. Thankful our Lord is ever faithful when man fails us…

My Mom watched Dr Stanley on tv when she could no longer attend church. But she always felt guilty….🥲
