  1. Good morning. Missing Chas as are you all when you see me post first!😀

Phone is reminding me to pray for Kim at 9 a.m. See her request yesterday, Daily Thread.

    Atlanta weather:
72° at 8 a.m. with 88% humidity. We had a big thunderstorm at 6 a.m. We are going to be cooler than Boston today.

  2. Good morning, all, A beautiful day in the neighborhood. Time to head up to exercise then we will see what the day will bring besides laundry.

  3. My knee is a little better but still bothersome — and I have to cover a live event today that’ll require some walking and standing in what will be a too-warmish (80 degrees) day for me on the waterfront. The event, a presentation with several speakers, is only supposed to last 90 minutes, so that’s a plus if it doesn’t go over.

I think we’re spoiled in my business now by all the virtual coverage we typically can get away with now.

  4. We have been out watering and weeding, now in for school. Except fourteen who is in a “stage” and not finding the time to show up to help so I “let” her stay outside on summer vacation. I remind sixteen that he is not only getting one day ahead but also getting a second day as she is losing ground by not doing school. She will have catch up to do. Life is complicated. Recently heard from their older brother who wants to go into welding. He left our home without completing high school or GED and now has to go back to get that. Might as well get it done while you have time and assistance!

  6. I don’t know that she got her way or I got mine. I would call it a draw. It’s not what I had hoped for but better than it could have been. Thank you.

  7. It’s still only 76° here under cloud cover. If it clears we should get up in the eighties as predicted.

Had a good ladies’ Bible study this morning. We learned from co-teachers about time management. It was suggested to take a day or some hours every six months to get away with God to pray and plan. I said that would be a great activity to do at a retreat center. I really have missed going on retreat trips in the fall to the mountains.

  8. It’s 74° now and feels like 74°. We’ve just had another storm pass through. It looked scary for a bit but is calm now. Spoke too soon. Now I hear more thunder. It cannot make up its mind today.

I hope you can feel peace, Kim, and give it over to God.

I listened to a four part message about Redeeming Your Time based on a book by that name. It has some great info based on biblical principals. Has anyone read that book?

  9. Wow, not sure how I did it, but I seem to have wiped out all my text messages on my phone. I thought I was deleting all messages I had from Lifeway bookstore. Weird. Clean slate.

  10. It has been hot and humid here today. We are experiencing a thunderstorm right now and the lights just went off then back on…the dogs are laying under my feet!
I got my hair cut today….it is shoooooort!! Have mercy it’s a good thing the Lord made our hair to grow again! Going to be using lots of hair accessories in the coming months while this grows out! Chas would wonder what all the fuss was about! 😂

That bird up there is looking up and asking who the wise guy is….”ok who just pooed on my head?”!! The fella on the left “don’t look at me!”

  11. Wow, Janice. Hope that isn’t a problem for you and you didn’t need any of those text messages.
I read that book and enjoyed it.

  12. My hair was cut a tad shorter last time, too — but that’s fine as it will last through my August surgery and i won’t have to worry about it, It’s above the shoulders and full w/natural curls, but higher above the shoulders than I wanted, though not by a lot I guess. It grows.

Yes, Chas would wonder about all the fuss.

Long day today with an assignment on the waterfront for an update on that coming development then a story I had a hard time writing for some reason. Lots of developers speaking. Saw a lot of folks I hadn’t seen in a while which was nice and found a couple new sources, connected with another developer there to do a story on his project.

The waterfront is looking beautiful, wide open with the railed promenade now done, they just need to fill in with some floating docks and buildings — and there will be a dog park, how cool is that? Right on the water. So many changes in town since I arrived as a newbie reporter.

It was not uncomfortable out there — about 80 but with a cool breeze, we were right at the water’s edge at the port with a canopy. Backdrop included the usual “living theater” of cranes, ships, barges and the harbor fireboat performing a little demonstration for us.

But I still came back home sweaty and was quick to change out of the clothes I was in for something more comfortable.
