  1. I got stung by a blister beetle a week ago.

    As soon as I finished the block-long walk home, I washed my ankle, took Benadryl, got out an ice bag, and put up my leg.

    It ached but nothing more.

    Until Saturday, when I ended up in the ER with cellulitus, drugs, and a week of lying around with my ankle above my heart.

    A similar incident happened to me 40 years ago, after tripping over a parking block, skinning my knee, washing it with soap and water, and then flying across the country.

    Five days later, my husband dropped me off at the ER, and then sailed away for six months.

    Same diagnosis, two toddlers, snow, 3500 miles from family.

    My Navy wife friends saved the day.

    I’ve much to be thankful for–assuming, of course, the pharmacy can fill the prescription for meds . . . Sigh.

    Anyway, it looks awful. Please pray for a simple and quick healing.

  3. That does sound terrible, Michelle.

    Please pray for Penny who has so many health problems. She is in much pain, but almost always comes down to the regular jam. She said it is such a relief to just have the music to relax with as much as possible.

    Also, my daughter has a book club friend, Pam, who is being tested for a second time for Alzheimer’s. It runs in the family. She is a brilliant woman, who has lost her self-confidence as she is going through this. Pray for her husband to have the strength, love and patience he needs.
