We take our hummingbird feeder in at night. A raccoon and her five babies visited in the middle of the night and drained the feeder…all caught on camera! 🦝
The temp here at almost 7 p.m. is 95°. Son went for a run. I am roasting a turkey breast in the roaster outside so as to not heat up the house. I made blueberry muffins outside earlier. I am so glad to have set up for baking on the carport these hot days.
This morning I went to the Prison Alliance ministry hub to take boxes of collected books and Bibles with two women from my church. Somehow no one was at the ministry, but we managed to get the director to come open it up for us to at least take the books in that we’d brought. We’d planned on helping stamp the donated books with ministry contact information that tells inmates where they can request Bible studies from the ministry. We will stamp the next time we go.
We had a light lunch at the adjacent Chinese restaurant. The egg fried rice was delicious. We had a good time of fellowship.
Young people–running in 95 degrees. I am with AJ and stay in as much as possible when it is hot. My husband did mow, since he could do it before another storm comes through. Since we are on clay soil it can take a long time to dry out.
Son was on the phone with his girlfriend when I went into his room with some just out of the oven turkey slices. He was shooing me away, but I was determined he would enjoy some of the roasted turkey. It is delicious. He might be on the phone for hours. It’s like he is a teenager. Sweet!
I am so glad he is home for a few days while I adjust to life without Miss B. Sorry if I said that before. Still processing.
Art got poured on while driving home, but we only got sprinkles. We need rain here.
Thankful W is there with you Janice. It has been 10 years since Babe passed away and I still cry when thinking of her or happening upon a photo of her. They do indeed plant themselves into our hearts for a lifetime. Praying for comfort during this time…❣️
I worked on my to go bags for a while today. There were lots of planes flying overhead and they were going to the edge of this development. I didn’t take anything to the car but got things organized.
morning all
whole house fan is on cooling the house down as it will be warmer today. We still haven’t hit 100.

Good morning. I am busy watching the five hummingbirds all fight for the syrup in the feeder. What a lot of energy they use to do that!

Don’t worry about saying it again and again, Janice. It will take a while for sure. Glad your son is with you, even if he is on the phone for hours.

Later we got an email that it was a house fire.
