I’m slowly but surely getting back to normal. I hit another personal milestone this weekend as well. I only used the cane to get around this weekend, no walker. Woohoo! Did a little happy dance too. slow progress, but progress. 🙂
So I figured today was as good a day as any to get back to a more normal routine here as well.
So glad to hear of your progress, AJ! Slow and steady wins the race. It’s always good to re-establish routines that help you feel more normal again. You’re in our prayers always.
Hello everyone! I’m on my laptop this morning as my phone still doesn’t want to let me post. And since I’m not going in to work early, I have time to be lazy this morning…sort of. I’m taking a day off later this week for Dad’s 98th birthday. We’re going to his favorite restaurant and some other places.
Sorry to hear about the trouble at the nest, Mumsee. Praying for SIL to hold fast in spite of his very unfair loss.
My church attendance has been by YouTube live stream. But now that I can shower I do plan to attend this week’s service on Sunday in person. I’m so looking forward to that. 😀
This morning I felt good enough to get my own breakfast, and Cheryl’s too. It made me happy to be able to serve her for a change, plus it’s a return to normalcy as that’s what I always used to do. 😀
When I checked my email this morning I found three notifications of three new posts here. That brought a smile. It’s so good to hear about all your progress, AJ.
I really seemed to have turned a corner over the weekend, thank God.
I just got us lunch, and went most of the way up and down the steps. About 3/4 of the way. I could have went further but I was making Cheryl nervous so I stopped.
I don’t like anything over 90, or under 10. I can deal with cold and snow, but there’s a limit.
That doesn’t sound a bit picky to me. I don’t like anything under 50 or over 80. :)
My dad used to say he couldn’t even take out the trash if it was below 60. He had grown up in Bethlehem and walked to school through two feet of snow uphill both ways, etc., but then was spoiled by living in Los Angeles after college.
Yup, AJ, my grandfather was a Bethlehem Steel man all his life. Dad grew up first near the mill during the Depression, then when he was 12 they were able to afford a house in Fountain Hill. He went to Fountain Hill High School (now the elementary school), class of ’46, and then to Lehigh.
Wow, AJ, I’m realizing it has only been 6 weeks since you went in for surgery. Considering what all you went through, you are making an amazing recovery. Just thanking God again!!!
Wonderful news, AJ! Indeed you have made good progress.
My husband has been dealing with various health issues and has barely been outside of our house in six or seven weeks–so he hasn’t been to church in that time either. (He has been for three or four five-minute walks and he has been to the doctor. Other than that, he has not stepped outside our home at all this year or half of December.) So, yeah, though he’s not dealing with anything nearly as serious as you have been, we know that any improvement is to be celebrated and that extended time out of (live) church is to be mourned. May you and he both be back this coming Sunday!

Yabba-Dabba-Doo!!! That is fantastic news, AJ. Makes this a happy Monday morning for me to hear that.
It’s 39° and crazy windy. I did not put the bins on the street until this morning at 8 a m in fear they’d blow away overnight.
Are you able to attend church now, AJ?

How come my 🙂 didn’t turn into a smiley?

OK, they’re messing with me. My colon-parentheses in my first post didn’t turn into a smiley, but the one in my second post did. What’s the trick?

We wish we knew Kevin.
It seems completely random at this point.
I had no idea your dad was from Bethlehem. And yes, we have a lot of those uphill both ways areas around here to hear some tell it. 😉
