Feels like we kind of skipped spring. However, I welcome the trees now leafing out and the few hardy flowers blooming. What a joy spring is in a land of lots of snow and cold for a very long period!
A long time ago, fourth daughter began to buy a car. Life changed and she needed a larger car. We did not need one but to help her out, we bought it from her for what she still owed and a bit more and we paid thousands in repairs, including after she began divorce proceedings and we loaned her the car because she had given the truck to her husband in the divorce and their new larger car is broken. Now she claims the loaner car is hers because she paid more.
Same daughter wanted to keep her horses at our place but I suggested she use the neighbor’s pasture. She is taking our water for them but we have not seen her caring for them more than a couple of times. She claims she is too scared of her husband to come over.
Seventh son, her brother, came over a few weeks ago to get some meat out of our freezer because beef is expensive. He also borrowed our trailer and sold it without offering us any of the proceeds. And borrowed money from us while in college to pay his rent while using the money to buy party beer. He and his wife are hesitant to come over as they are scared of son in law.
Third daughter, their sister who lived here for her pregnancy and the first year of her daughter’s life outside the womb, is coming over to take some power tools because she needs them and dad has too many. She does not visit because she is uncomfortable around son in law.
I am thinking of asking son in law to stay on! Imagine what they would be taking if he was not here.
🙂 Chickadee is going to come over to spend the night tonight, and so will already be here in the morning for our Mother’s Day brunch. I am so glad that she accepted my invitation/suggestion to do so.
I may not have mentioned this but when daughter first talked to us about her plans for divorce, she said she planned to continue living with him as always, raising the children together but she did not want the paper in case she ever thought he might hurt her and wanted to get out. Recall she is the one who kicked him and the twins down the stairs when he would not stay and argue. But that was two plus years ago. She is not thinking rationally and her sibs want to support her.
Spring!

Mumsee – That’s what I suspected, but I didn’t know if there was something I’d missed.
