Prayer Requests 5-1-23

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 98

A psalm.

Sing to the Lord a new song,
    for he has done marvelous things;
   his right hand and his holy arm
    have worked salvation for him.
The Lord has made his salvation known
    and revealed his righteousness to the nations.
He has remembered his love
    and his faithfulness to Israel;
   all the ends of the earth have seen
    the salvation of our God.

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth,
    burst into jubilant song with music;
make music to the Lord with the harp,
    with the harp and the sound of singing,
with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn—
    shout for joy before the Lord, the King.

Let the sea resound, and everything in it,
    the world, and all who live in it.
Let the rivers clap their hands,
    let the mountains sing together for joy;
let them sing before the Lord,
    for he comes to judge the earth.
   He will judge the world in righteousness
    and the peoples with equity.

  1. Please pray some more for my Chickadee. I’ve been reading about how autistic people (this seems to be especially true for girls and women) are prone to come to think that they are transgender because of their differences. Those differences often don’t line up with the “usual” characteristics of their sex. This part I already understood, and can see in my daughter.

    What was particularly discouraging is that once convinced that they are indeed transgender, they fixate on this, and changing their minds is very difficult.

    Please pray for the Holy Spirit to move upon her heart and convince her of the truth about herself (and mostly the Truth about Jesus). I often pray that God will draw her to stories of detransitioners, especially those who are autistic, if that will help her.

    Another thing that is discouraging and disheartening is that from what I have read, those come to realize that they aren’t really trans get a lot of pushback from their pro-trans friends and therapists, being told that they are merely reacting to the negativity of those who disagree with transgenderism.

    The especially disheartening thing about that is that Chickadee lives with – not merely knows or socializes with, but lives with – two dear friends who would give her that pushback. (And I highly suspect that they are the ones who encouraged her to believe that she is trans in the first place.) It seems that this is one of those situations where only God and His Holy Spirit can do what needs to be done.

    Praying for a miracle for my baby.

  2. Oh, Kizzie, will continue praying. My heart goes out to these young people and sometimes even children who are being encouraged down this path that has gained so much popular acceptance in some circles.

    It was the theme of a popular courtroom drama on prime-time TV I was watching just the other night. It feels like the world has turned upside down on some of these issues we couldn’t even have imagined just a short time ago, doesn’t it? And I can see how it could ensnare and confuse and bring in young folks who are dealing with other personality differences. It gives a name and popular explanation to their condition, in their minds.
