Psalm 29
A psalm of David.
1 Ascribe to the Lord, you heavenly beings,
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
2 Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;
worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness.
3 The voice of the Lord is over the waters;
the God of glory thunders,
the Lord thunders over the mighty waters.
4 The voice of the Lord is powerful;
the voice of the Lord is majestic.
5 The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars;
the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.
6 He makes Lebanon leap like a calf,
Sirion like a young wild ox.
7 The voice of the Lord strikes
with flashes of lightning.
8 The voice of the Lord shakes the desert;
the Lord shakes the Desert of Kadesh.
9 The voice of the Lord twists the oaks
and strips the forests bare.
And in his temple all cry, “Glory!”
10 The Lord sits enthroned over the flood;
the Lord is enthroned as King forever.
11 The Lord gives strength to his people;
the Lord blesses his people with peace.
Boy will be watching the Superbowl with his Grampa at his other grandparents’ house.
Grampa Matt often does things with Boy, like this or playing disc golf or such. I have such mixed feelings about it. On one hand, I am glad that Boy has the blessing of a good grandfather to be a good male role model and spend time with.
On the other hand, Boy’s Christian grandfather (Hubby), who wanted to eventually lead him to the Lord, is gone, and Grampa is an atheist, and even has an atheist symbol tattooed on his forearm.
Please pray for Grampa Matt to be saved (and Grandma Michelle, too). He owns a carpet cleaning business and has cleaned the carpets at my church, and so has had some kind of contact with them.
Also, please pray for salvation for Boy’s mom and dad. Thank you.

The next four days may be emotional, but good.
Sister-in-law arrives today to learn from her siblings what happened to the family when she and the other sister abandoned them for a yoga-based cult more than 50 years ago.
Pray we listen well, respond according to God’s Word, and that she realizes how loved she has been and will be.
If the Gospel comes up . . . well, you know how to pray.
Thank you.

The airman: a very aggressive lymphoma with a fifteen cm mass pushing on his heart. He is breathing on his own again and if they can get the kidneys functioning, will start chemo, staying in hospital for eight months and possible full recovery. The growth started about four months ago, they think. Thanks for praying. We begin a journey.
