Prayer Requests 1-23-23

Psalm 11

For the director of music. Of David.

¹In the Lord I take refuge.
    How then can you say to me:
    “Flee like a bird to your mountain.
²For look, the wicked bend their bows;
    they set their arrows against the strings
to shoot from the shadows
    at the upright in heart.
³When the foundations are being destroyed,
    what can the righteous do?”

⁴The Lord is in his holy temple;
    the Lord is on his heavenly throne.
He observes everyone on earth;
    his eyes examine them.
⁵The Lord examines the righteous,
    but the wicked, those who love violence,
    he hates with a passion.
⁶On the wicked he will rain
    fiery coals and burning sulfur;
    a scorching wind will be their lot.

⁷For the Lord is righteous,
he loves justice;
the upright will see his face.

Was offered and took a very brief opportunity to present a Gospel message to my dad today. He was asking, again, if I knew where his wife was and if she had passed. I explained she passed away on Nov 16 but she and I believe she is with God now. He said they had not really discussed it and I explained that when she was eighty, she came to belief in God and His Salvation in Christ. He said it sounded too simple to him. I said it is very simple and yet very difficult as God gave His Son as the perfect sacrifice for our sins, all He asks in return is belief and He gives that and does the rest as none of us are good enough for Heaven yet He wanted us with Him. Pray that that seed will take root and bear fruit. His mind does not retain but God can work through that.
