Prayer Requests 12-17-22

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 132

A song of ascents.

Lord, remember David
    and all his self-denial.

He swore an oath to the Lord,
    he made a vow to the Mighty One of Jacob:
“I will not enter my house
    or go to my bed,
I will allow no sleep to my eyes
    or slumber to my eyelids,
till I find a place for the Lord,
    a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.”

We heard it in Ephrathah,
    we came upon it in the fields of Jaar:
“Let us go to his dwelling place,
    let us worship at his footstool, saying,
‘Arise, Lord, and come to your resting place,
    you and the ark of your might.
May your priests be clothed with your righteousness;
    may your faithful people sing for joy.’”

10 For the sake of your servant David,
    do not reject your anointed one.

11 The Lord swore an oath to David,
    a sure oath he will not revoke:
   “One of your own descendants
    I will place on your throne.
12 If your sons keep my covenant
    and the statutes I teach them,
   then their sons will sit
    on your throne for ever and ever.”

13 For the Lord has chosen Zion,
    he has desired it for his dwelling, saying,
14 “This is my resting place for ever and ever;
    here I will sit enthroned, for I have desired it.
15 I will bless her with abundant provisions;
    her poor I will satisfy with food.
16 I will clothe her priests with salvation,
    and her faithful people will ever sing for joy.

17 “Here I will make a horn grow for David
    and set up a lamp for my anointed one.
18 I will clothe his enemies with shame,
    but his head will be adorned with a radiant crown.”

  1. One of the men we attend church with just found out he has a tumor on his pancreas. He has had prostate cancer and those numbers are troubling again in spite of him having it out a few years ago. He knows the Lord is in charge and takes it all in stride. Still, I know it is stressful for his wife, family and himself. He has to go for surgery on the 23rd. Please send up a prayer for Dale.

  2. Prayer here as I have been dealing with a sore throat. Stress induced? Probably not. More likely because I drank the rest of some pop the grandpa’s did not drink. But this would not be the best time to be sick. Warm salt water.

    Praying for Dale and thankful for his reliance upon our Lord through it all.

    Kim you and Mr P are ever present in our hearts and our prayers.

    As are you Aj as Tuesday approaches with the beginning of your treatments. 💜

  4. Prayers for Dale, Kim, Mr. P, AJ, mumsee and the dads, no more winter sickness in Kizzie household.

    My friend K has a swelling in the thyroid gland, most of those are benign, but still, worrisome. Pray she gets a timely referral and appointment with a doctor who can assess it all — and that it will be nothing to worry about.

  5. I tried to get the flu shot a few weeks ago. Stopped at Safeway in Moscow but when I got in to the pharmacy, they had signs up apologizing for the inconvenience but no flu or pneumonia shots that weekend. Have not had the opportunity since.

    Part of hospice is they offer five days of respite in the event we get sick or need a break. They pick up and deliver so that is my fall back plan if we catch something. Hoping not to have to use it as it would be hard on both dads to be in the hospital.

  6. I think I got the flu shot in late October, earlier than usual but they said the season was starting earlier than it usually does so I went ahead and got mine then at my regular pharmacy.

    I didn’t get it for the longest time as I so seldom ever got the flu. Then I’d get the shot now and again, when it was rough season or just when the spirit moved me.

    A few years ago I decided to get it annually, knowing our immune system fades with age — and symptoms can be more serious for us as well.

    I’ve never had any kind of reaction to it, but know some folks say they have.

  7. Lifting Kim and Mr. P this evening to the Lord as they ready themselves for the surgery ahead.

    Remembering others here, too, with mentioned needs.

    I am glad God gives me time and mind to pray. Not sure about when I am doing radiation how I will be feeling.
