Prayer Requests 11-12-22

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 115

Not to us, Lord, not to us
but to your name be the glory,
because of your love and faithfulness.

Why do the nations say,
    “Where is their God?”
Our God is in heaven;
    he does whatever pleases him.
But their idols are silver and gold,
    made by human hands.
They have mouths, but cannot speak,
    eyes, but cannot see.
They have ears, but cannot hear,
    noses, but cannot smell.
They have hands, but cannot feel,
    feet, but cannot walk,
nor can they utter a sound with their throats.
Those who make them will be like them,
and so will all who trust in them.

All you Israelites, trust in the Lord
he is their help and shield.
10 House of Aaron, trust in the Lord
he is their help and shield.
11 You who fear him, trust in the Lord
he is their help and shield.

12 The Lord remembers us and will bless us:
He will bless his people Israel,
he will bless the house of Aaron,
13 he will bless those who fear the Lord
    small and great alike.

14 May the Lord cause you to flourish,
    both you and your children.
15 May you be blessed by the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

16 The highest heavens belong to the Lord,
but the earth he has given to mankind.
17 It is not the dead who praise the Lord,
    those who go down to the place of silence;
18 it is we who extol the Lord,
    both now and forevermore.

   Praise the Lord.

  1. My latest update on Art:
“When we saw the doctor who works with Art’s surgeon this a.m., he indicated there was a bit of damage to Art’s kidney so he is not going home today, and tomorrow is a maybe. They are watching while WE keep praying! Thank you so much as we go into the unknowns that God knows all about. He has the whole world in His hands.
Maybe this is why we heard nothing for so long yesterday?”

He will not go home until the cath bag no longer shows bloody urine.

  2. This virus that we have had has hit Nightingale particularly hard. She usually gets over viruses quicker than either Boy or me, but this time, she is the hardest hit. Please pray that this does not develop into anything more serious for her.

Also, please pray that even if she is feeling better tomorrow, she will cancel her plans to go with a couple friends to a show in New York City. They wouldn’t be getting back until probably well after midnight, and she has to get up for work on Monday. (The way she looks right now, though, I doubt she’ll feel up to that.)

  3. Lifting Art before our Lord.
Thankful that he has attentive and competent medical professionals around him…and that you are there as well Janice! May you both find a good nights rest and may our Lord bring healing.

As I pray for Nightingale I ask the Holy Spirit to move upon her heart..that she might know Who to run to in the time of need. As she is physically weak may she breathe out a cry to the Lord for healing…not only in her body but her spirit. One day Lord…may it be so… ♥️

  4. Praying for you and Art. Hospital stays are no fun, but I truly don’t know how the pt would survive without their family member.

Praying for Mumsee as she provides the needed support for her Dad as his wife slips away. So many changes with aged parents. Praying that God will continue to strengthen and ec
    encourage her.

Praying for AJ as he continues to recover.

  5. Nightingale is still sick today, so she is definitely not going on that little trip to NYC later. But I am concerned, because she is very rarely this sick for this long. (It is not Covid, unless it was a false negative.)

I have recovered from the virus and was able to go to church this morning, for which I was grateful.

  6. Janice – Often the day after surgery doesn’t hurt as bad as the next few days because there is still some anesthesia in our systems. So it can be a surprise when the pain kicks up a notch or two (or three) a couple days later.

  7. Yes, post-surgery, no fun.

Glad Nightingale is getting checked out. My cousin is feeling better but still has an awful cough (and also has tested negative for Covid, a few times).

I was wondering about bronchitis, as that can really mess with you and cause a lot of fatigue, horrible coughing, and just an all-over sickness.

  8. I miss a dog to greet me at the back gate. I’d always see Tess’s nose poking at the gap where the gate meets the garage, even on her last day when I was taking her to the vet later on. 😦

    I really miss those dogs.

Annie Oakley just sort of saunters out, figuring she can start annoying me again for food. She woke me up at 4:30 this morning for breakfast.

  9. Flu A. Our covid tests check for covid 19, Flu A, Flu B, and RSV. Her symptoms sound like what we are seeing with Flu A. It seems to be hitting pediatrics harder than adults.

  10. It turns out that Nightingale doesn’t have the flu or Covid, and has been told to just keep managing her symptoms with OTC stuff. She is beginning to feel a little better.

DJ – I had wondered about bronchitis, too.

  11. Art is receiving a transfusion this afternoon as his blood level was borderline. I think this is good to help strengthen him. When I had a C-section I lost a lot of blood and got no transfusion. My legs felt like lead weights. And those iron pills are so constipating. Not good to take after that same effect from surgery pain meds. They will do some tests after he receives all this blood. Waiting and watching and trusting in God.

  12. I always knew when I had bronchitis as it involved having night sweats for me. It has been years, but I remember that difference from other ailments.

Prayers for the right antibiotic to give quick relief for Nightingale.

Another beeping here and pushing of the button to call the nurse. And so the beep goes on . . .

  13. Janice I am hearing Sonny and Cher singing The Beat goes On in my head!! 😜 It is wonderful for the nurse to notice how loved Art is by his family. “they shall know them by their love” comes to mind.

Praying Nightingale feels better soon and having the weight of not knowing if it is covid or the flu must bring a relief.

I don’t recall ever having bronchitis but a couple of my daughters have had it and it was awful!

  14. I had bronchitis once (diagnosed by a doctor), quite a few years ago, and it was pretty brutal. I also remember the sweating and just the full-body weakness that came with it.
