Prayer Requests 11-10-22

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her former students, and the people of PNG.

Anyone else?

Psalm 113

Praise the Lord.

   Praise the Lord, you his servants;
    praise the name of the Lord.
Let the name of the Lord be praised,
    both now and forevermore.
From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets,
    the name of the Lord is to be praised.

The Lord is exalted over all the nations,
    his glory above the heavens.
Who is like the Lord our God,
    the One who sits enthroned on high,
who stoops down to look
    on the heavens and the earth?

He raises the poor from the dust
    and lifts the needy from the ash heap;
he seats them with princes,
    with the princes of his people.
He settles the childless woman in her home
    as a happy mother of children.

   Praise the Lord.

  1. Now on to my family.

    While opening a can of pineapple, one daughter-in-law was “attacked” by a freaked-out kitten. End result: 5 hours in the ER and 6 stitches in her thumb.

    Second daughter-in-law has had the flu for the last three weeks and sounded awful on the phone. Her four-year-old has also been sick with the same flu, but that hasn’t slowed him down. (Did I mention he was 4?)

    If she’s not better today, she’s headed to the doctor for fear of walking pneumonia.

    My family is telling me that while we were gone, our community has gone through a major flu outbreak. 50% of the kids were absent from one local the high school last week.

    RSV is also a concern for the little ones.

    I’m sure glad I got the old lady flu shot before I left on my trip.

    There are other health horrors going on in my extended family.

    I’d like to return to my vacation, please.

  2. That thumb injury sounds awful, prayers.

    I got my super-flu shot last weekend.

    Meanwhile, my cousin is very sick, she sounds awful and has been in touch with her doctor. The Covid tests keep turning up negative but the doctor wants her to keep taking them. But it certainly could also be the flu.

    Good news on friends from church, the wife, B, remained in the hospital (as of yesterday) but doctor has determined this is something they can fix (a twisted intestine) without surgery which is the good news. Hoping she’ll be home soon, her husband sounds like he feels a bit lost without her.

  3. We all have some kind of virus with a cough. Unusually for me, the cough started before the runny nose. Usually it is the other way around with a cold. At least for Nightingale, she has the next three days off.

  4. Please pray for a woman named Erin. She and Nightingale were in LPN school together and were friendly with each other, going out for breakfast a time or two.

    Nightingale just learned via Facebook that Erin was in a major car accident and is in very serious condition, possibly brain dead or close to it. Her spine was crushed, among other things, and she has been unresponsive. Erin has three little ones, ages seven and under. Please pray for a healing miracle for her. Thank you.
