Prayer Requests 9-23-22

It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.

Anyone else?

Psalm 63

A psalm of David. When he was in the Desert of Judah.

You, God, are my God,
    earnestly I seek you;
   I thirst for you,
    my whole being longs for you,
   in a dry and parched land
    where there is no water.

I have seen you in the sanctuary
    and beheld your power and your glory.
Because your love is better than life,
    my lips will glorify you.
I will praise you as long as I live,
    and in your name I will lift up my hands.
I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods;
    with singing lips my mouth will praise you.

On my bed I remember you;
    I think of you through the watches of the night.
Because you are my help,
    I sing in the shadow of your wings.
I cling to you;
    your right hand upholds me.

Those who want to kill me will be destroyed;
    they will go down to the depths of the earth.
10 They will be given over to the sword
    and become food for jackals.

11 But the king will rejoice in God;
    all who swear by God will glory in him,
    while the mouths of liars will be silenced.

    Nightingale told me a little while ago that the guardian ad litem has determined that X should have unsupervised weekly visits with Boy now. They will start tomorrow, with a six-hour visit, from noon to 6:00, then after a few weeks go to an eight-hour visit, starting at 10am. I guess they will see how this goes, and maybe he can eventually have the full 24-hour time period he requested.

    Of course, Nightingale is convinced that his old ways will kick in, and he will mess this up somehow. She thinks that X will not get up in time to pick Boy up at 10am when that starts, and will try to keep him the whole six hours anyway. But she is going to insist that Boy be home at the right time.

    As of today, we don’t know how the picking up of Boy is going to go. You may remember that before the supervised visits were instituted a couple or so years ago, due to the protective order against X (for Nightingale), I had to walk Boy up the lane to X’s car, since X was not allowed nearer than that to our house. Towards the end of that time, since Boy was a little older, I would merely stand at the end of our front walk and watch him walk up the lane.

    Nightingale will be working tomorrow, so I guess I will play this by ear if I don’t hear anything before then.
