Let’s continue to lift Janice as she recovers from her surgery.
Also Kevin and his family as they continue to recover from Covid.
Anyone have something to share?
Psalm 42
A maskil of the Sons of Korah.
1 As the deer pants for streams of water,
so my soul pants for you, my God.
2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When can I go and meet with God?
3 My tears have been my food
day and night,
while people say to me all day long,
“Where is your God?”
4 These things I remember
as I pour out my soul:
how I used to go to the house of God
under the protection of the Mighty One
with shouts of joy and praise
among the festive throng.
5 Why, my soul, are you downcast?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God.
6 My soul is downcast within me;
therefore I will remember you
from the land of the Jordan,
the heights of Hermon—from Mount Mizar.
7 Deep calls to deep
in the roar of your waterfalls;
all your waves and breakers
have swept over me.
8 By day the Lord directs his love,
at night his song is with me—
a prayer to the God of my life.
9 I say to God my Rock,
“Why have you forgotten me?
Why must I go about mourning,
oppressed by the enemy?”
10 My bones suffer mortal agony
as my foes taunt me,
saying to me all day long,
“Where is your God?”
11 Why, my soul, are you downcast?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God.
This is one of those days I am going to need some patience….
I am in short supply and feel like I am being “pecked to death”

This is only the second day of school but Boy is home sick today. He has a fever and cold symptoms. Please pray that he will get over this quickly so he can get back to school and not miss much. The first days of starting middle school are important.

Sorry to hear that, Kizzie, hoping he’s better soon and gets back to classes. You’re right, it is hard for kids missing early school days especially in the step-up transitions to new school levels and school environments. It’s early in the week, hopefully whatever this is will go away in a day or two and he’ll be back before the weekend.
Praying for AJ and Janice today. I’m hoping a good-night’s sleep was had all around. Rest and sleep are good for our bodies (and minds) when they’re under duress.
Hoping the “pecking” stops soon, Kim.

Major prayer request for a friend out of Albania–now stuck at a hospital in Thessaloniki, Greece, with her four children, mountains of luggage and a husband being threatened by an Albania cheater.
They’re out of money; their 10 year-old has a mysterious illness no one can explain, and literally no idea what to do.
Her name is Kim.
I’m now off for a ridiculously busy day.

D Day was not planned like my husband plans a move. Then he brings me this issue and that issue and wants to know if I have found a moving company and what did the rental management company say yesterday and are they going to do this, that, or the other… and the questions never stop.
I have explained that anything that needs to fixed around here can wait until the house goes into a rental program. THEN it will be tax deductible.
So, I ended up staying home today, working on a few things and controling the one thing I could control. I packed my mother’s china and crystal. I also started packing up the Rosepoint glassware that Mama Ruth and my father collected for me. She collected and called to tell him how much he owed her. 😉
As it turned out my father-in-law from the first husband had a cousin who had a large collection of Rosepoint as well so she promised it to me but since I was no longer in the family she gave it to Nana to keep. BG has finally expressed an interest in all of this and since the new house is smaller I will take my glassware to Nana’s and let it live there.

Nightingale is cancelling her trip for this weekend, although if she is feeling okay, she may take an overnight backpacking trip not too far away. That way, if she does get sick, she can get home fairly quickly.

Sorry to hear that news, Kizzie, and I’m glad you have nurse Nightingale around (and she’s skipping her weekend trip). Hang in there, we’re praying.

My friend Kim’s family is in an apartment tonight, and still flummoxed as to where to go/what to do next.
The family is grateful for the prayers.
Hazel’s situation after the MRI is still murky and they’re not sure what to make of the Greek doctor’s recommendations. They’re also not sure if they should return to the US or not.
Exhausted, they made a video tonight explaining what they know, and are leaving it in God’s hands for the moment. They have no other ideas anyway.
COVID is taking down people at our church who gathered for a dinner the other night. They had been at our house the night before (but we ate outside). No signs of us having any problems, but you never know.
Two of my Adorables both missed a week of school. This is the first week they’re both in school at the same time since school started three weeks ago.
Life continues to throw curves at folks. We’re living in difficult times, for sure.
Heat wave coming to California–which outlawed building any more gas stations and announced gas-powered cars will no longer be sold here after 2030.
We’re being warned to curtail usage of electricity as much as possible over the hot weekend.
I’m just reporting the news–notice, I’m not commenting? 😦
Happy to hear Janice is back in the swing of things so quickly, very sorry about your news, AJ.

My fans will have to be running 24/7, electricity curtailment warnings or not.

Sorry to hear that, Kizzie.
Prayers for all.
I just wish what happens in California would stay in California. I get a notice pretty much every day that the electric company will be cutting the air conditioning. The company can do that with heat or air conditioning if you are on the program to save money. They do it to keep the electricity from peaking. If it peaks our local company has to pay more to the bigger company, they get electricity from. Which makes me wonder how there will be enough to charge all these cars. There are so many negatives from that, but this is not the thread for it, so I am just commenting on M’s noncomment. 😉

“I just wish what happens in California would stay in California.” Ha. Had to laugh at that. We have so many California transplants here that Dunkin Donuts finally put avocado toast on the menu last year. Not complaining about the toast or the transplants, just sayin’… :–)
Lots to pray for today.
