Anyone have something to share?
Psalm 2
1 Why do the nations conspire
and the peoples plot in vain?
2 The kings of the earth rise up
and the rulers band together
against the Lord and against his anointed, saying,
3 “Let us break their chains
and throw off their shackles.”
4 The One enthroned in heaven laughs;
the Lord scoffs at them.
5 He rebukes them in his anger
and terrifies them in his wrath, saying,
6 “I have installed my king
on Zion, my holy mountain.”
7 I will proclaim the Lord’s decree:
He said to me, “You are my son;
today I have become your father.
8 Ask me,
and I will make the nations your inheritance,
the ends of the earth your possession.
9 You will break them with a rod of iron;
you will dash them to pieces like pottery.”
10 Therefore, you kings, be wise;
be warned, you rulers of the earth.
11 Serve the Lord with fear
and celebrate his rule with trembling.
12 Kiss his son, or he will be angry
and your way will lead to your destruction,
for his wrath can flare up in a moment.
Blessed are all who take refuge in him.
Irvin, peacefully, passed away last night. We were not there and did not get a chance to speak to him before he went. He fought a long hard battle against mental illness. He attended bible study regularly and was able to even lead, off and on, when someone else couldn’t. He deeply loved the Lord and tried to lift others up. He volunteered regularly before Covid hit and cut off those opportunities. I know he is in heaven enjoying more than I can imagine.

Irvin is a blessed one now forever freed from his mental anguish. Thanking God for his life lived in service, and now he is in the most perfect eternal retirement home with the best God has that we can not even imagine.

Very sorry, Kathleena.
The baby girl is safely here–thanks for your prayers.
My friend Kim’s family made it to Lisbon.
Glenn should be home, now, with hospice.
My prayers were all answered. Thank you.

Kathaleena’s post reminded me of my friend Carol and how she was so faithful to share devotions with those who lived with her in her assisted living facilities. She’s been gone for going on two years (in December) now — last time I saw her was in December 2019 right before Covid cut off those opportunities though we spoke by phone pretty much daily. I miss her. But I know where she is and look forward to our reunion one day.
Several years ago she told me, sort of out of the blue, that when she died she didn’t want me to cry because she will be with her Lord. But when she died I cried anyway and continue to tear up at times when I think about her and miss her.

I’m glad that Irvin passed peacefully. God knows the struggles each of us face. I’m reminded of my mom’s mental illness and the struggle I witnessed throughout her whole life. Looking back, it’s a cherished reminder of how dearly God loves us. Not for the great or grand things we can bring to him, but just because we do struggle to please him—to love as he loves.

It is a great blessing, too, Debra, to know that even if we are not in our right mind, God holds us fast in Jesus. For years Irvin struggled with his security in Christ. It was a great comfort for him later.
