Prayer Requests 6-15-22

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget to pray for The Gambia.

Anyone else?

Psalm 123

A song of ascents.

I lift up my eyes to you,
to you who sit enthroned in heaven.
As the eyes of slaves look to the hand of their master,
as the eyes of a female slave look to the hand of her mistress,
so our eyes look to the Lord our God,
till he shows us his mercy.

Have mercy on us, Lord, have mercy on us,
for we have endured no end of contempt.
We have endured no end
    of ridicule from the arrogant,
    of contempt from the proud.

  1. COVID is finally stalking friends and family alike; so far so good but everyone is soggy tired.

We’re fleeing the state for five days; safe travels for us and that we don’t bring it with us. (No sign of it here, and Mr. COVID is pretty confident we’ll be okay.)

  2. One of our Word Weavers just returned from TX and has Covid. Also, the Word Weaver’s president for the whole organization has it now, too. Both have been on recent flights. Maybe flying w/o masks needs to be reconsidered.
Prayers for your safety for both Michelle and family, and for Jo.

  3. Weather-related prayers here, too. It just poured buckets and has now stopped, but more is predicted for 1:00-5:00, plus storms, which is during the time 6th Arrow and I will be out and about for guitar and piano lessons. I got caught in a horrible downpour on Monday while heading to work, and hydroplaned for the first time. Scary, especially seeing that looming power pole mocking me as my car, pointed toward it, headed ever closer to leaving the road.

God miraculously delivered me from that and got my car straightened out, keeping me on the highway after all.

Appreciative of prayers that conditions don’t get as bad as that today. Thank you.

  4. Have decided to stay home and reschedule lessons.

Please pray for one of my piano families. Their daycare just notified them that the building is badly damaged and all children are to be picked up immediately.

    Thank you.

  5. Wise decision, 6. Such scary weather!
Prayers for all those families having to make arrangements with no real notice😳
God, please ease their stress and make provision for good and safe care for each need. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen

  6. Thanks, Janice. And please do continue to pray for the safety of everyone in our area and region. A tornado watch has been issued now until 10pm. They’re saying there’s great potential for strong storms in much of my state. 2nd Arrow, SIL, and grandbabies are in the middle of where they’re predicting the strongest hit. We are on the edge of that zone. 4th Arrow and Hubby are still at work for a few more hours.

    I appreciate your prayers.

  7. They almost have the road put back together. Going down, the wait was about a minute. Coming back, a lot more traffic and they were working on paving so closer to fifteen minute wait. But it looks like it will be ready for Saturday’s run to Moscow.

  8. Well, it is the only north south hwy so sees a lot of use. They have been working for several years at expanding the road a few miles south into three or four lanes, so the equipment and workers were close though they may not have been used as they were working on their project as well. It is a temporary fix. Filled the washed out lane with big rocks, then gravel and now asphalt. Should do the trick for now

  9. Prayers for Kevin, too. He wrote two days ago, “We have a medium risk of severe winds, thunderstorms, and possible tornadoes in these parts later this afternoon.” I don’t think we’ve heard from him since, and the storms predicted for here today are reported to likely hit Michigan tomorrow before weakening.

  10. Three tornadoes that I know of struck between here and 2nd Arrow’s, but not in our communities. Thank you for praying. All of my immediate family, including the ones not living here, are home safe tonight.

There was some tornado-related damage at a hospital in one of the towns hit. Prayers for the patients and staff.
