Prayer Requests 6-3-22

It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.

Anyone else?

Psalm 119:57-72

ח Heth

57 You are my portion, Lord;
    I have promised to obey your words.
58 I have sought your face with all my heart;
    be gracious to me according to your promise.
59 I have considered my ways
    and have turned my steps to your statutes.
60 I will hasten and not delay
    to obey your commands.
61 Though the wicked bind me with ropes,
    I will not forget your law.
62 At midnight I rise to give you thanks
    for your righteous laws.
63 I am a friend to all who fear you,
    to all who follow your precepts.
64 The earth is filled with your love, Lord;
    teach me your decrees.

ט Teth

65 Do good to your servant
    according to your word, Lord.
66 Teach me knowledge and good judgment,
    for I trust your commands.
67 Before I was afflicted I went astray,
    but now I obey your word.
68 You are good, and what you do is good;
    teach me your decrees.
69 Though the arrogant have smeared me with lies,
    I keep your precepts with all my heart.
70 Their hearts are callous and unfeeling,
    but I delight in your law.
71 It was good for me to be afflicted
    so that I might learn your decrees.
72 The law from your mouth is more precious to me
    than thousands of pieces of silver and gold.

  1. Prayers for AJ in his treatment today. Also prayers for Mumsee and family dealing with complications of aging family members on both sides. Prayers for Chickadee and the complexities she and so many in her generation are wading through. Prayers for others here, too.

    Yesterday around 7 p.m. Ligonier had a program with Rosario Butterfield that covered some issues Chickadee deals with. It is worth listening to for anyone seeking more understanding. I hope they have a replay link.

    Prayers for teens in the foster system. The tv reported this morning that lately people are turning over teenagers with mental problems to DFACS in hopes they will get mental help that the family can not afford. The teens have been housed in the office buildings of DFACS and/or hotels and live on fast food at a cost of 1,200/day each. Such a horrid situation. I had no idea.

  2. I will try to listen to that later. (I don’t usually like watching/listening to these long videos, but I will try to watch/listen to it a little at a time.)

    I have to say, though, that not long ago I disagreed with an article by her in which she said that those with gender identity issues were guilty of the sin of envy (of the opposite sex). Is that what she has to say in this video?

    That could possibly be true for some, but I don’t think that is the issue for many, from what I have read and heard from those who used to think they were trans or currently think they are trans. But I will give the video a listen.

  3. I was interested in the video because my friend’s daughter is married to a female and the couple is advising people on trans issues. When I hear about it my mind is boggled so this video helped me to understand that it is okay if I can’t wrap my mind around it all. There are some things that we will never understand because we are in the sheepfold.

    There is one point where she mentions envy of other sexes in this video. It is fine to disagree on some points or all points with her message.

    I feel rather neutral on what she said about the envy. Yes, valid for some but not all.

  4. I wonder if envy is sort of like the sin of pride — not always that identifiable or obvious, but rather lurking behind and underlying so many other sins that appear more clear and obvious to us.

  5. Teens are in so much trouble right now. Social media feeds envy like nothing else I know. Ads on TV are designed that way of course, as in mags and newspapers. Keeping up with the Jones’s. But this whole idea is so permeating everything that I cannot help but think God is on His way.

  6. I do remember being envious of my brother’s choice chore of lawn mowing as opposed to my dishwashing. Now I get the high honor of doing both😀 i did not want to be a boy, but wanted to do more of the outdoorsy things. As a girl, I loved going on the hunting hikes with the guys while the moms/ladies stayed in the kitchen huddle preparing meals.

  7. At almost 7 p.m. the temp is 82° and feels like 85°. It had me fooled. I thought it had cooled down quite a bit from earlier.

    Wesley told me I could get rid of his insect collection if I take a photo of it. I can’t find it😳. Story starter for a nightmare!
