Banning abortion, which largely targets black and minority communities, is white supremacy, but targeting those communities to murder their children isn’t?
The mental gymnastics at play by this hack are astounding.
This is why CNN is dying.
“‘Pushed to the margins’: Why some activists and lawmakers say abortion bans are a form of White supremacy”
“The first time Kenya Martin got an abortion, she was a 19-year-old college student who felt she wasn’t old enough or mature enough to raise a child.
The second time, Martin was a 26-year-old single mom making $12 an hour as a bank teller, could barely afford childcare or health insurance and was in a custody battle with her daughter’s father. Martin would later have four more abortions, each time knowing she did not want another child.
Now Martin, who is Black, worries that other women, particularly women of color, won’t have that choice if the Supreme Court affirms a leaked decision to overturn Roe v. Wade — the landmark ruling that legalized abortion in 1973.
“I’m stressed, I’m concerned, I’m worried,” said Martin, 46 of Richmond, Virginia. “Kids don’t deserve to be brought into a life of poverty.”
The threat to abortion access has underscored the economic hardships and maternal health crisis that Black and brown women face, with many advocates saying forced pregnancies would only worsen their outcomes. Black women are three times more likely than White women to die of pregnancy-related complications; encounter racism from health care providers at higher rates; face unequal pay; and are more likely than their White counterparts to lack health insurance. Abortion rights advocates say the pay disparity alone hampers Black women’s ability to secure affordable childcare and housing. And there are no federal laws that mandate paid maternity leave. Activists also argue that there has been little movement on federal police reform that they say would create safer environments for Black women to raise their children.
Abortion access has also gained the attention of lawmakers including Rep. Ayanna Pressley who made an impassioned plea for the Senate to pass the Women’s Health Protection Act, a Democrat-led bill aimed at preserving access to abortion nationwide.
Pressley said banning abortion is “forced birth” in a country that deprives families of universal health care, child care and paid medical and family leave.
“The anti-abortion movement in America is rooted in organized White supremacy, and overturning Roe v. Wade would only perpetuate cycles of poverty and trap our most vulnerable in systems of oppression,” Pressley said on the House floor last week. “None of this is abstract. There is a history of medical apartheid in this country against Black, brown, immigrant, indigenous and disabled folks.””

Using abortion as birth control is the most selfish reason for it imaginable.
“Progressive Democrats are poised to remove the last pro-life Democrat from the House of Representatives on Tuesday in a runoff election in southwest Texas.
That’s where eight-term Rep. Henry Cuellar is defending his left flank in a closely contested Democratic primary race against progressive darling Jessica Cisneros.
Ms. Cisneros, a 28-year-old immigration attorney and Cuellar’s former intern, hopes the second time will be the charm after losing to the incumbent two years ago.
Since the leak of a draft Supreme Court decision that overturned Roe v. Wade, Ms. Cisneros has made “reproductive freedom” a central focus of her closing message and repeatedly reminded voters that Mr. Cuellar is the “last anti-choice Democrat in the US House of Representatives.” USA.”
“In Congress, we will fight for representation that defends the working people of South Texas by investing in us through Medicare for All, good paying union jobs, and our reproductive freedom,” he said in a recent email.
For his part, Mr. Cuellar has walked a fine line, telling voters he supports abortion in cases of rape and incest.
“Democrat Henry Cuellar is standing up for South Texas families by working every day to keep our cost of living low; that means lower drug prices, health care we can afford, child care assistance, and a $15 minimum wage,” says the narrator. in a TV commercial for Cuellar. “And with women’s rights under attack from extremists, Democrat Henry Cuellar has made it clear that he opposes an abortion ban.”
The message has not been enough to appease many fellow Democrats on Capitol Hill who backed Cisneros.
“At a time when our reproductive freedoms are under attack by an extremist Supreme Court, we must elect pro-choice candidates who will fight to ensure that abortion remains the law of the land,” said Rep. Pramila Jayapal of Washington, chair of the Court of Congress. Progressive Caucus, she said in a recent endorsement. “Jessica Cisneros embodies the kind of progressive we need in Congress.””
“n an era where the hunt for disinformation has become a political obsession, Hillary Clinton has mostly escaped having to answer what role she played in spreading the false Russia collusion narrative that gripped America for nearly three years.
On Friday, that dodge ended with a most unlikely witness: her former campaign manager Robby Mook, who was supposed to be a witness helping the defense of her former campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann on a charge of lying to the FBI.
Instead, under cross-examination by Special Counsel John Durham’s team, Mook was forced to concede two extraordinary facts.
First, the Clinton campaign wasn’t “totally confident” about the accuracy of computer data suggesting Donald Trump had a secret communications channel to the Kremlin via Russia’s Alfa Bank.
And second, Hillary Clinton herself personally approved spreading the story to the news media, despite the concerns about its accuracy.
“I discussed it with Hillary as well,” Mook testified. “I don’t remember the substance of the conversation, but notionally, the discussion was, hey, we have this and we want to share it with a reporter,” Mook said.
Prosecutors asked Mook if Clinton approved leaking the story to the media.
“She agreed,” Mook testified.
The testimony confirms what CIA Director John Brennan told President Barack Obama secretly in July 2016 and what the CIA later told the FBI two months later: There was intelligence that Clinton had approved a plan to dirty up Trump with Russia allegations to distract from her own email server scandal.
Kevin Brock, the FBI’s former assistant director for intelligence, called Mook’s revelation a “startling piece of testimony, particularly since he was a defense witness.””
I still can’t get past the idea that we cannot know who or what is human. Really? Science has gone backwards a long way, I guess, if that is true. There can be lots of issues involved in thinking about abortion, but whether or not we are dealing with a human being is not really one of them if we are honest.
When one side lacks the honesty to admit the obvious, this is what you get. But they don’t dare admit the truth, because then they would have to acknowledge they are killing a child.
They’re invested in the lie, so the truth be damned.
“Sheriff of Arizona county featured in ‘2000 Mules’ announces 2020 voting fraud investigations
Alleged Yuma County ballot harvesting “mule” interviewed in the documentary is cooperating with authorities, says the film’s director, Dinesh D’Souza.”
“The sheriff’s office of an Arizona county highlighted in Dinesh D’Souza’s “2000 Mules” documentary on alleged ballot harvesting and trafficking in the 2020 presidential election announced Wednesday it has teamed up with the county recorder to investigate 2020 election fraud.
The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday that as of March, it has 16 open voter fraud cases.
The Sheriff’s Office and the Recorder’s Office “are working together to actively examine cases of voting fraud from the 2020 General Election and now a recent pattern of fraudulent voter registration forms leading up to the 2022 Primary Election,” according to the YCSO.
“Some examples of voter fraud Yuma County is currently seeing,” the sheriff reports, “are the following:
Impersonation fraud: Voting in the name of other legitimate voters and voters who have died or moved away.
False registrations: Falsifying voter registrations by either using a real or fake name, birth date, or address. This is being done by outreach groups who are paid for each registration form they submit, therefore, are out soliciting voters into unnecessarily re-registering or falsifying forms with Yuma County [residents’] identities.
Duplicate voting: Submitting multiple votes or registering in multiple locations and voting in the same election in more than one jurisdiction or state.
Fraudulent use of absentee ballots: Requesting absentee ballots and voting without the knowledge of the actual voter; or obtaining the absentee ballot from a voter and either filling it in directly and forging the voter’s signature or illegally telling the voter who to vote for.”
Released last week, “2000 Mules” relies on geotracking data and video surveillance footage obtained by election integrity watchdog True the Vote purporting to show hundreds of “mules” stuffing drop boxes with absentee ballots during odd hours in battleground states.
True the Vote founder Catherine Engelbrecht said in a statement Thursday: “We are extremely encouraged that the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office and Recorder’s Office are now working together to investigate individuals involved in the subversion of elections. We’ve spent concentrated time in Yuma County and have provided significant information to both state and federal authorities. What has been happening in Yuma County is happening across the country. The targeting of vulnerable communities and voter abuse must be stopped.”
In an interview on the John Solomon Reports podcast episode to be aired Friday, D’Souza, the film’s director, revealed that an alleged Yuma County mule interviewed by True the Vote in his documentary is cooperating with authorities.
“[I]t’s so great that in that exact venue, the sheriff has now announced a new investigation,” D’Souza said. “It seems to be a direct response to the work both of True the Vote and the movie.
“So this idea that the movie is making all these outlandish claims, law enforcement doesn’t even have to look at it — complete nonsense. And this, I hope, is only the first step.””
——-
The Big Lie was always that fraud didn’t happen, not that it did.
We are to “follow the science” only concerning vaccines. When it comes to ending the life of a child (and you can bet it will and probably is being done to elderly “non useful humans”) we are to fight for “our rights”!
I found it curious that the young woman in the referenced article was fighting for custody for her child. Why? Why does that child have value yet her other children had none?
I counseled with many young women at two different pregnancy centers. Not once was there a case of rape or incest. Every single case intended for abortion was one of inconvenience. I was told “I know it’s a child but I just can’t be pregnant right now”. “I know it’s a child but this isn’t my fiancé’s child and he is coming home from TDY next week” “I don’t want to be pregnant I just like having sex”…..
Just more of the same “research” that unleashed Covid on the world….
“Wuhan Institute of Virology Publishes New “Gain of Function” Study Featuring Avian Flu Virus
Chinese researchers created an H7N9 virus that killed 35% of the mice tested. It is interesting to note that H5N1 bird flu is now raging…killing nearly 100% of infected birds. And it appears that the virus has also been studied at the infamous institute.”
“After spending two years dealing with a coronavirus pandemic, it is disturbing to have to share reports of several incidents related to avian flu viruses.
Perhaps the most chilling involves the H7N9 virus, also known as the Asian lineage avian influenza A. The first reported human infection of this strain was in China in 2013. The reports drew the concern of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Risk Assessment program.
Before 2013, this strain hadn’t been seen in any other population except birds, according to the World Health Organization (WHO)Trusted Source.
In the five years after the disease was found in humans, health officials have battled multiple outbreaks.
However, one good piece of news is that the virus doesn’t infect humans very easily. Most bird flu infections are transmitted between birds and only spread to humans who have close contact with the animals.
“Most of the human infections (found in China and Asian countries) occurred in people who had close contact with poultry, either raising them or seeking them in an open market environment,” said Dr. Len Horovitz, a pulmonary specialist at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City.
…However, scientists at the CDCTrusted Source using the Influenza Risk Assessment Tool have identified the Asian lineage H7N9 virus as “having the greatest potential to cause a pandemic as well as potentially posing the greatest risk to severely impact public health if it were to achieve sustained human to human transmission.”
Although there’s potential for a pandemic, in its current form it’s unlikely. Horovitz believed “human-to-human transmission of this virus hasn’t been demonstrated, so the potential for a pandemic isn’t high.”
The likelihood of the virus remaining hard to transmit to humans might remain low unless the scientists at the Wuhan Institute of Virology decided to add a few “gain of function” enhancements to H7N9.
Which, it appears, they have. The team there has just published a paper (hat-tip National Pulse): Combined insertion of basic and non-basic amino acids at the hemagglutinin cleavage site of highly pathogenic H7N9 virus promotes replication and pathogenicity in chickens and mice.
The paper was published in Virologica Sinica, the journal put out by the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Its editor-in-chief is Zheng-Li Shi. That name should be familiar to those of you who have been following the covid story, as she is the infamous “Bad Lady” of Wuhan.
2015 – 2017: Shi Zheng-li (“Bat Lady” researcher leading the studies of bat viruses), Peter Daszak (head of the NIH grant-getting the New York-based EcoHealth Alliance), and a team of scientists isolate novel coronaviruses, conduct gain-on-function research, and test novel and genetically manipulated coronaviruses against mice and other animals expressing human immune systems.
A line from the abstract is most chilling:
…the I335V substitution of H7N9 virus enhanced infectivity and transmission in chickens, suggesting that the combination of mutations and insertions of amino acids at the HACS promoted replication and pathogenicity in chickens and mice. The ongoing evolution of H7N9 increasingly threatens public health and poultry industry, so, its comprehensive surveillance and prevention of H7N9 viruses should be pursued.
So, the same institute that likely created the SARS-Cov-2 Virus by modifying bat viruses has now modified the Asian lineage avian influenza A virus to be more readily transmissible and substantially more lethal. The report indicated the altered pathogen killed 35% of the mice population studied.
And while the researchers claim all of this experimenting is in the name of “pandemic prevention,” the same claims were made about SARC-COV-2. I am not mollified or consoled.
Meanwhile, another avian influenza is decimating poultry populations around the world…at a time when food scarcity is becoming a significant issue.”
“As I have feared, sick babies are being hospitalized across the U.S. due to the formula shortage that pediatricians described as a ‘crisis’.
The Medical University of South Carolina confirmed that at least four babies have been admitted to the hospital due to the formula shortage as of Thursday night, while Dr. Mark Corkin said he’s treating two toddlers for the same issue at the Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, CBS reported.
According to the hospitals, the babies were admitted due to reactions they suffered from drinking formula different from the ones they usually drank because parents could not find the product amid the shortage.
‘I’ve never seen anything like this,’ Corkins told CBS. ‘They come in dehydrated. We give them IV fluids. We give them nutrition by vein. But that’s not a long term solution.’
The stoppage of formula production at Abbott plant has led directly to a couple of these hospitalizations, as it cut-off the supply of specialty formula essential to address the needs of pediatric health issues.
Both children have short bowel syndrome, which prevents them from absorbing nutrients properly because part of their small intestine is missing, according to Dr. Mark Corkins, a pediatric gastroenterologist at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, where the children were treated. Their condition requires special dietary interventions.
One of the children, who is preschool age, was hospitalized at the end of April and is still in the hospital. The other, a toddler, was hospitalized last week and has since gone home.
Each child needs an amino-acid-based formula and had been taking EleCare, a product manufactured by Abbott Nutrition, which closed its plant in Sturgis, Mich., and voluntarily recalled some of its products in February after at least four babies who consumed them were hospitalized with a rare but serious bacterial infection. Abbott reached an agreement with the Food and Drug Administration this week that enables it to resume production in the Sturgis plant in two weeks. Products from that plant may reach shelves within two months.
The rising gasoline prices is also adding an extra challenge, as parents drive for hours trying to obtain the formula they need.
…[U]p to 40 percent of all baby formula is out of stock across the country, causing parents to panic-buy or drive for hours in order to find replacements.
“Having to drive one to two hours away from your own home in hopes of finding formula for your child, then having no luck, makes you feel so guilty,” Kenzie Martin, 29, of White Plains, New York, previously told Newsweek. “I’m scared for the mothers who haven’t welcomed a baby into the world yet and are already scared of not being able to feed their infant.”
Sadly, it is not just infants that are being impacted. Older children with health problems also rely on the Abbott products.”
“The first shipment of baby formula arrived by military plane in Indianapolis on Sunday from Ramstein Air Base in Germany. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack was there to greet its arrival. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said the shipment weighed 78,000 pounds. It is the first of several flights that will arrive from Europe. Sounds good, right? Maybe.
The formula is hypoallergenic, which is essential for babies and toddlers with milk allergies. As I mentioned Saturday, it must be additionally stressful for parents of babies who are allergic to milk because they require special formula. In the Biden formula crisis, all formula is difficult to find, including for babies with special dietary needs. The 132 pallets of Nestle Health Science Alfamino Infant and Alfamino Junior formula are enough specialty infant formula for more than half a million baby bottles. It’s about a week’s supply.
Not only is it about a week’s supply, it will not be on regular retail store shelves. It’s going straight to pharmacies and health care facilities including hospitals, doctors’ offices, and clinics.
Alfamino is primarily available through hospitals and home health care companies that serve patients at home.
The flights are intended to provide “some incremental relief in the coming days” as the government works on a more lasting response to the shortage, Brian Deese, director of the White House National Economic Council, said Sunday.
Deese told CNN’s “State of the Union” that Sunday’s flight brought 15% of the specialty medical grade formula needed in the U.S., and because of various actions by the government, people should see “more formula in stores starting as early as this week.”
So, what happens to babies who drink regular formula? They will have to continue to wait for the supply chain to get caught up. How horrible. “Incremental relief” the White House calls it. “
“I don’t think I have to be the one to tell anyone reading this the news — as you are probably already well aware — but things aren’t going well under the Biden administration.
In a sentence I’ve typed way too often over the last year, inflation continues to sit at astronomical levels, gas prices keep increasing, and the border is in shambles. To make matters worse, over the past month, the stock market has crashed, eating away at people’s retirements and investments. Dreams that people had are now going to be on hold for years based on the hope that things will recover, and time isn’t something you can get back.
The response from the White House in the face of so many of their self-inflicted wounds hasn’t been empathy, though. Not that such would mean much, but it would at least give people peace of mind knowing that their leaders aren’t actively rooting for their destruction.
Unfortunately, that’s exactly what appears to be happening. These people want you to suffer.”
Joe Biden: "When it comes to the gas prices, we're going through an INCREDIBLE transition" pic.twitter.com/8TGnc7vFa8
“That’s the President of the United States calling the $5.00 a gallon gasoline that is crushing Americans an “incredible transition.” And lest anyone think I’m misreading him, he means it exactly as it sounds and says as much by citing that we’ll become “less reliant” on fossil fuels in the end.
In other words, this is all intentional. Biden and his handlers saw an opportunity to destroy the energy market and have done everything in their power to make that a reality. The most recent example came after the administration canceled more oil and gas leases that could have helped relieve price pressures long-term.
It’s not just Biden himself making the plan clear, though. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm, who came into her position heavily invested in electric vehicle production, has continually told Americans to pound sand regarding high gas prices. Her suggestion? Go buy an expensive, likely unavailable electric car (because of production waitlists) that you can’t take on a road trip and that you can’t charge at home unless you have a garage. Even then, home charging is an all-night affair.”
“They were right. I was wrong to call sexual abuse in the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) a crisis. Crisis is too small a word. It is an apocalypse.
Someone asked me a few weeks ago what I expected from the third-party investigation into the handling of sexual abuse by the Southern Baptist Convention’s Executive Committee. I said I didn’t expect to be surprised at all. How could I be? I lived through years with that entity. I was the one who called for such an investigation in the first place.
And yet, as I read the report, I found that I could not swipe the screen to the next page because my hands were shaking with rage. That’s because, as dark a view as I had of the SBC Executive Committee, the investigation uncovers a reality far more evil and systemic than I imagined it could be.
The conclusions of the report are so massive as to almost defy summation. It corroborates and details charges of deception, stonewalling, and intimidation of victims and those calling for reform. It includes written conversations among top Executive Committee staff and their lawyers that display the sort of inhumanity one could hardly have scripted for villains in a television crime drama. It documents callous cover-ups by some SBC leaders and credible allegations of sexually predatory behavior by some leaders themselves, including former SBC president Johnny Hunt (who was one of the only figures in SBC life who seemed to be respected across all of the typical divides).
And then there is the documented mistreatment by the Executive Committee of a sexual abuse survivor, whose own story of her abuse was altered to make it seem that her abuse was a consensual “affair”—resulting, as the report corroborates, in years of living hell for her.
For years, leaders in the Executive Committee said a database—to prevent sexual predators from quietly moving from one church to another, to a new set of victims—had been thoroughly investigated and found to be legally impossible, given Baptist church autonomy. My mouth fell open when I read documented proof in the report that these very people not only knew how to have a database, they already had one.
Allegations of sexual violence and assault were placed, the report concludes, in a secret file in the SBC Nashville headquarters. It held over 700 cases. Not only was nothing done to stop these predators from continuing their hellish crimes, staff members were reportedly told not to even engage those asking about how to stop their child from being sexually violated by a minister. Rather than a database to protect sexual abuse victims, the report reveals that these leaders had a database to protect themselves.
Indeed, the very ones who rebuked me and others for using the word crisis in reference to Southern Baptist sexual abuse not only knew that there was such a crisis but were quietly documenting it, even as they told those fighting for reform that such crimes rarely happened among “people like us.” When I read the back-and-forth between some of these presidents, high-ranking staff, and their lawyers, I cannot help but wonder what else this can be called but a criminal conspiracy.
The true horror of all of this is not just what has been done, but also how it happened. Two extraordinarily powerful affirmations of everyday Southern Baptists—biblical fidelity and cooperative mission—were used against them.
Those outside the SBC world cannot imagine the power of the mythology of the Café Du Monde—the spot in the French Quarter of New Orleans where, over beignets and coffee, two men, Paige Patterson and Paul Pressler, mapped out on a napkin how the convention could restore a commitment to the truth of the Bible and to faithfulness to its confessional documents.
For Southern Baptists of a certain age, this story is the equivalent of the Wittenberg door for Lutherans or Aldersgate Street for Methodists. The convention was saved from liberalism by the courage of these two men who wouldn’t back down, we believed. In fact, I taught this story to my students.
Those two mythical leaders are now disgraced. One was fired after alleged mishandling a rape victim’s report in an institution he led after he was documented making public comments about the physical appearance of teenage girls and his counsel to women physically abused by their husbands. The other is now in civil proceedings about allegations of the rape of young men.
We were told they wanted to conserve the old time religion. What they wanted was to conquer their enemies and to make stained-glass windows honoring themselves—no matter who was hurt along the way.
Who cannot now see the rot in a culture that mobilizes to exile churches that call a woman on staff a “pastor” or that invite a woman to speak from the pulpit on Mother’s Day, but dismisses rape and molestation as “distractions” and efforts to address them as violations of cherished church autonomy? In sectors of today’s SBC, women wearing leggings is a social media crisis; dealing with rape in the church is a distraction.
Most of the people in the pews believed the Bible and wanted to support the leaders who did also. They didn’t know that some would use the truth of the Bible to prop up a lie about themselves.”
Linking abortion rights to white supremacy is a stretch — you’d think white supremacists would all be in favour of abortion for African Americans. However, the article does illustrate the racial differences in medical outcomes and access especially among African American women. The maternal mortality rate for African American women is 43 per 100 000 live births contrasted to the overall average of 17. For African American women its safer to give birth in the Gaza Strip, Cuba, El Salvador, China or Vietnam. With such a disparity in outcomes, access to abortion and medical treatment in general is a racial issue.
Abortion in the US is largely a white middle class and black working class issue (for the same economic reasons generally) White working class and Hispanics generally do not have abortion. Given the white middle class can access abortions simply by travelling to an area where abortion is available, access to abortion on national basis does become a racial issue. With the racial disparity in maternal and natal care (the racial disparity in infant mortality rate is similar), I’m heavily sympathetic to black working class women and highly critical of the older white men who restrict abortion without providing resources for better maternal and natal health outcomes.
Its not a purge when the party establishment including Pelosi support the pro-life Ceullar over the primary challenger Cisneros. This is a generational battle in the same way AOC primaried a long standing congressman. The boomers are slowly being pushed out by the millennials — and gen X is enjoying the show.
If one wants simple answers, life begins at conception is an easy one to accept. However, life is complicates as is the definition of life and specifically human life. Over 50% of all fertilized cells do not survive past a week or two; some barely dividing beyond one cell — are these lifeforms? are they human? Even religions give us different answers – Judaism admits a fetus is human but prioritizes the mother and bodily autonomy. Islam and Christianity are all over the fence. Traditionally Catholicism went with life begins at the “quickening” about 16-20 weeks; not much different than the current secular viability argument. There are more arguments and discussions one can have but the point is simply — the issue is not simple.
Biden and the FDA are not responsible for Abbott producing contaminated formula and needing to shut down to clean their operation. Biden and the FDA are not responsible for the new NAFTA that basically banned Cdn formula. Biden and the FDA are not responsible for decades of industry consolidation that has left consumers at the mercy of a few oligopolies for basic groceries.
Bringing in specialty formula will lower demands on general infant formula. One reason for the inability to import infant formula from Canada or the EU is tariffs were set so high as to shut out these companies. They then have set their production ability to the current market they supply. If they had access to the US market, there would not be a shortage.
As I’ve shown here a couple of times, no babies were sickened by Abbott. The bacteria in the kids was not the bacteria discovered in a non production area of the Abbott plant. Stop spreading fake news and disinformation.
The CEO apologized for voluntarily shuttering the plant in spite of these facts.
But hey, why let facts get in the way of your false narrative.
“President Joe Biden’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA) may have directly contributed to the ongoing nationwide baby formula shortage without proving any babies died from baby formula.
The FDA announced Feb. 17 that a major Abbott Nutrition plant in Michigan, responsible for producing massive quantities of baby formula, was under investigation for links to bacterial outbreaks, including salmonella. The agency helped Abbott initiate a recall of its baby formula. Yet neither the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) nor the FDA have been able to prove that any babies got sick from Abbott’s formula, according to The Wall Street Journal.”
—-
“The company claims the evidence is on their side. The places at the facility where FDA inspectors found bacteria were not in contact with formula products, and genetic tests performed by the CDC determined that the cronobacter strains in the facility did not match those which caused the infections, according to The WSJ, citing Abbott.
That hasn’t stopped the Biden administration from blaming Abbott for the shortage. White House press secretary Jen Psaki said that the cause of the shortage was not anything to do with the Biden administration, but was caused by Abbott making “unsafe” baby formula.”
“Why is biggest baby formula plant in US STILL shut down after three months? Abbott says plant is safe and was not responsible for bacteria that killed two kids – but FDA refuses to reopen it as parents across US struggle to feed their babies
Abbott Laboratories claims its Michigan plant is not responsible for bacteria that killed at least two infants
The baby formula manufacturer alleged an FDA investigation revealed ‘infant formula produced at our Sturgis facility is not the likely source of infection’
Abbott claims products from the facility did not cause any bacterial outbreak
The plant still remains closed despite the findings after shutting down in February amid a major product recall”
—
“An Abbott spokesperson told DailyMail.com Tuesday that ‘thorough investigation’ by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Abbott revealed ‘infant formula produced at our Sturgis facility is not the likely source of infection in the reported cases and that there was not an outbreak caused by products from the facility’.
However, despite the findings of the investigation, the plant remains shuttered nearly three months later, fueling the nationwide baby formula shortage.
The FDA – which said it found food safety violations at the plant, as well as five strains of Cronobacter, a bacteria that can cause blood infections and meningitis – has refused to say when the plant can resume operations.
Abbott alleges that none of the formula distributed to consumers tested positive for Cronobacter or Salmonella.
The manufacturer claims the FDA and Abbott officials both tested retained products for the bacterias and yielded negative results.
Abbott notes no trace of Salmonella was found at the Sturgis plant and the Cronobacter that was found in environmental testing during the investigation was in non-product contact areas of the facility.
The company alleged the traces of Cronobacter at their plant have ‘not been linked to the two available patient samples or any other known infant illness.'”
“The White House has been blaming the baby formula shortage on an FDA recall in February that caused the closing of an Abbott facility that made the formula.
They have been doing that largely to avoid recognizing that there have been ongoing supply chain issues affecting formula supply since last year.
But additionally, there have been questions about how the FDA has dealt with the alleged issues regarding the Abbott facility. A whistleblower identified concerns to the FDA in October, but the FDA didn’t inspect the plant until January. In February, after four babies were hospitalized and two died, the plant was shut down out of contamination concerns. Since then, there seems to have been no rush to facilitate a process for reopening safely. It’s now May, and the plant still isn’t open. Abbott is the largest producer and is responsible for almost half the supply of formula produced in the country. That’s why keeping it shut down is so significant.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki claimed that there were “babies who died as a result of taking this formula.”
But Abbott called out Psaki, saying that was not true in an 11-tweet thread on Twitter. It boils down to them saying it wasn’t their formula, based on the evidence adduced so far.
At the White House press conference today, the Press Secretary mistakenly said that our formulas were tainted and killed two infants. The deaths of these infants are a tragedy.
The facts, however, are critical: A comprehensive investigation by Abbott, FDA and CDC found no evidence that our formulas caused infant illnesses. Specifically…
CDC concluded its investigation with no findings of a link between our formulas and infant illnesses.
We conduct microbiological testing on products prior to distribution and no Abbott formula distributed to consumers tested positive for Cronobacter or Salmonella.
All retained product tested by Abbott and the FDA during the inspection of the facility came back negative for Cronobacter and/or Salmonella. No Salmonella was found at the Sturgis facility. The Cronobacter sakazakii that was found in environmental testing during the investigation was in non-product contact areas of the facility and has not been linked to any known infant illness. Genetic sequencing on the two available samples from ill infants did not match strains of Cronobacter in our plant. Samples from ill infants did not match each other, meaning there was no connection between the two cases.
In all four cases, the state, FDA, and/or CDC tested samples of the Abbott formula that was used by the child. In all four cases, all unopened containers tested negative. Open containers from the homes of the infants were also tested in three of the four cases; two of the three tested negative. The one positive was from an open container from the home of the infant, and it tested positive for two different strains of Cronobacter sakazakii…one of which matched the strain that caused the infant’s infection, and the other matched a strain found on a bottle of distilled water in the home used to mix the formula. Again, neither strain matched strains found in our plant. The infants consumed four different types of our formula made over the course of nearly a year and the illnesses took place over several months in three different states.
The formula from this plant did not cause these infant illnesses.
Now, according to NBC, this isn’t Abbott just spinning; there may be something to what they are saying.
Last month, however, the FDA and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention told NBC News none of the bacterial strains taken at the Abbott plant matched those collected from the infants, and the agencies haven’t offered an explanation for how the contamination occurred.
For its part, Abbott says its formula “is not likely the source of infection,” though the FDA says its investigation continues.”
“Abbott subsequently issued a recall of all potentially affected products manufactured at the facility and the FDA later shut down the plant after federal safety inspectors found Abbott failed to maintain sanitary conditions and procedures at the facility.
Last month, however, the FDA and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention told NBC News none of the bacterial strains taken at the Abbott plant matched those collected from the infants, and the agencies haven’t offered an explanation for how the contamination occured.
For its part, Abbott says its formula “is not likely the source of infection,” though the FDA says its investigation continues.”
Perhaps its Abbott that is a CYA mode. You have a gov’t body whose job is to ensure safe production of food and drugs and then you have a manufacture who’s responsible to make a profit for its shareholders and avoid litigation. Who are you going to be believe. And please don’t try to tell me Biden personally wants the Abbott plant closed ….. no politician wants this. He’s not interfering while a govt agency does its job. Abbott closed its plant. Abbott has bacterial growing in a plant that produces baby formula. Abbot is one of only four companies producing baby formula due to four decades of consolidation into an oligopoly. And the new NAFTA shut down any supply of formula from Canada.
Again, Abbott did a voluntary shut down (which was the right thing to do until it could be investigated) after the feds threatened to shut them down so it could be investigated. The investigation showed the bacteria that sickened children did not come from the plant. What bacteria was found was in a non-production area of the plant.
You’re obviously ignorant about bacteria. It’s everywhere, and can be found everywhere if one looks for it.
This should make you more informed on the matter. 48 million people a year get sick from foodborne illness, 128,000 are hospitalized, and 3,000 people die, yet after 4 cases that didn’t even come from the plant, this plant is still shut down.
“Bacteria are small single-celled organisms. Bacteria are found almost everywhere on Earth and are vital to the planet’s ecosystems. Some species can live under extreme conditions of temperature and pressure. The human body is full of bacteria, and in fact is estimated to contain more bacterial cells than human cells. Most bacteria in the body are harmless, and some are even helpful. A relatively small number of species cause disease.”
“Five strains of bacteria found at infant formula plant; none match samples from two patients”
“The FDA has confirmed five different strains of Cronobacter sakazakii bacteria at a production plant that makes infant formula that has been linked to four illnesses and two deaths.
None of the five different strains match two available samples from sick babies, according to an announcement from the Food and Drug Administration. The agency found four of the strains of the bacteria at the Abbott Nutrition plant in Sturgis, MI, and the company found one other.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention conducted whole genome sequencing on the two available patient samples and found that the Cronobacter strains do not match any filed in the National Center for Biotechnology Informatics (NCBI) database. Product samples collected by FDA at the facility were analyzed for Cronobacter and were found to be negative.”

And perhaps no one told you HRW, but Democrats control the House, the Senate, and the Presidency. A year and a half in, it’s time to stop blaming others and take responsibility for their failures. If the new NAFTA was so bad, they could have replaced it, yet didn’t.
Given the procedural rules surrounding the Senate; its safe to say the Democrats don’t control the Senate. And it took Trump’s entire presidency to get a new NAFTA ratified by all three countries, hardly possible for Biden to change it especially given his lack of control in the Senate. A quick fix to temporary allow baby formula from Canada isn’t possible since Cdn manufacturers only have the capacity to maintain a supply here. Its a long term problem compounded by forty years of consolidation and coporate control.
The FDA but mostly Abbott are responsible for the various shutdowns and causes for shutdowns. To think any poliitcian wants a shortage of formula is ridiculous but agencies are only effective if they operate at arms length from politicians so Biden or any other politician are not intefering. If Biden actually interfered you’d be upset with him for breaching protocol (in much the same way the left was upset with Trump’s attempt to interfere with the DofJ)
So let me get this straight…
Banning abortion, which largely targets black and minority communities, is white supremacy, but targeting those communities to murder their children isn’t?
The mental gymnastics at play by this hack are astounding.
This is why CNN is dying.
“‘Pushed to the margins’: Why some activists and lawmakers say abortion bans are a form of White supremacy”
https://www.cnn.com/2022/05/18/us/abortion-ban-women-of-color/index.html

“Henry Cuellar, House’s Last Pro-Life Democrat, Fights for Political Survival in Texas”
https://hpcigar.com/henry-cuellar-houses-last-pro-life-democrat-fights-for-political-survival-in-texas/

“Hillary Factor: Evidence now shows false Russia collusion story began and ended with Clinton”
https://justthenews.com/accountability/russia-and-ukraine-scandals/hillary-factor-evidence-now-shows-russia-collusion-lie

Alleged Yuma County ballot harvesting “mule” interviewed in the documentary is cooperating with authorities, says the film’s director, Dinesh D’Souza.”
https://justthenews.com/politics-policy/elections/2000-mules-exposes-ballot-harvesting-yuma-county-sheriff-announces-voter

Nothing to see here….
And it appears that the virus has also been studied at the infamous institute.”
https://legalinsurrection.com/2022/05/wuhan-institute-of-virology-publishes-new-gain-of-function-study-featuring-avian-flu-virus/

“Sick Babies Now Hospitalized as Consequence of Formula Shortage
‘I’ve never seen anything like this.’”
https://legalinsurrection.com/2022/05/sick-babies-now-hospitalized-as-consequence-of-formula-shortage/

Remember those stories praising Biden for allowing in formula from other countries over the weekend?
Yeah, about that….
https://hotair.com/karen-townsend/2022/05/23/first-shipment-of-formula-arrives-from-germany-and-its-not-going-where-you-might-think-n471209

Purge them all.
Zero tolerance. Turn any evidence of abuse over to police for prosecution immediately.
From Russell Moore.
“This Is the Southern Baptist Apocalypse
The abuse investigation has uncovered more evil than even I imagined.”
https://www.christianitytoday.com/ct/2022/may-web-only/southern-baptist-abuse-apocalypse-russell-moore.html

“Biden’s FDA Has Reportedly Not Proven Any Babies Died From Baby Formula”
https://dailycaller.com/2022/05/13/fda-baby-formula-shortage-abbott-bacteria-plant/

They never take responsibility for their errors.
Blame everyone else is their go to.
https://republicandaily.com/2022/05/must-read-abbott-fires-back-after-alarming-psaki-claim-about-their-baby-formula/

First, bacteria is everywhere.
https://www.genome.gov/genetics-glossary/Bacteria
“Bacteria are small single-celled organisms. Bacteria are found almost everywhere on Earth and are vital to the planet’s ecosystems. Some species can live under extreme conditions of temperature and pressure. The human body is full of bacteria, and in fact is estimated to contain more bacterial cells than human cells. Most bacteria in the body are harmless, and some are even helpful. A relatively small number of species cause disease.”

And again…. It’s not just Abbott saying so. Even the FDA admits it found none of the bacteria responsible for the child deaths. ZERO.

Time for Democrats to own their failures.
