It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.
Anyone else?
Psalm 101
Of David. A psalm.
1 I will sing of your love and justice;
to you, Lord, I will sing praise.
2 I will be careful to lead a blameless life—
when will you come to me?
I will conduct the affairs of my house
with a blameless heart.
3 I will not look with approval
on anything that is vile.
I hate what faithless people do;
I will have no part in it.
4 The perverse of heart shall be far from me;
I will have nothing to do with what is evil.
5 Whoever slanders their neighbor in secret,
I will put to silence;
whoever has haughty eyes and a proud heart,
I will not tolerate.
6 My eyes will be on the faithful in the land,
that they may dwell with me;
the one whose walk is blameless
will minister to me.
7 No one who practices deceit
will dwell in my house;
no one who speaks falsely
will stand in my presence.
8 Every morning I will put to silence
all the wicked in the land;
I will cut off every evildoer
from the city of the Lord.
Running up to Moscow again today, is the plan. My brothers are both there and we thought we could provide a united front of encouragement to my dad to use the chair.
And prayer for husband as they have not left the guy’s place yet. The guy is too addled so I don’t know if he will be able to make the drive. Wisdom.

Prayers, Mumsee, for it to all turn out well for Dad’s needs. I think when people have lost a lot that they grasp for whatever bit of control they have over routines. May God put a new spirit of adventure in him to do this new thing anc find unexpected enjoyment in it. May your husband get settled enough to do what he needs to do, to get safely on the road. I lift this request in the name of Jesus, Amen
The lady who had her leg amputated is now in rehab trying to learn new ways to do things. She is such a nicd person. It was her daughtercand family that had lived two doors down from me but had to move so the house could be sold. At least they now live with the amputee lady. But caring for two young children, a husband, and a mother in a wheelchair is not gonna be an easy juggling feat.

Pray for my neighbors who are awaiting the big medical consultation today on the husband’s upcoming heart surgery. I went over to sit with her this morning after he and the two sons left for the appointment which is in downtown LA, she is uneasy being alone ever since her stroke and so I stopped in to spend 1-2 hours enjoying some coffee and easy conversation to help keep her mind off of all this. Her hand therapist and housekeeper showed up shortly after noon and will stay there until the others get home so I’m back working now but also praying that the information they get today is clear and that the surgery will be a non-invasive type (that was still a question) and can be scheduled quickly.
The time also led to a small opening after she was lamenting that this was Friday the 13th — I was able to draw her attention to God’s sovereignty which is really what we can rely on. (They’re non-believers, she left the Catholic church as a young person tired of “hearing about sin”.)
She referred to God as “our buddy upstairs.” Pray there will be some more openings and there will be a curiosity and yearning on her part. (Her husband suggested to me a few weeks back, in a joking way, that God must have it in for them with all of these things going on.)

They are blessed to have you, dj. So sad when people only think of God when things go bad and then they blame Him.
Father God, please make inroads in these hearts desperately needing to understand Your great love and care for them. Please open conversations with dj and other Christians who can explain things properly. Please give them mercy and grace and humble hearts to accept Jesus for who He is and for what He did to save them eternally. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen
I think this is probably how my friend Karen’s husband thinks about God in relation to all their issues and inability to get a home when he retired.
Oh, Lord, please help all in these type situations to have understanding and acceptance of Jesus.

This may be a silly prayer request, but in the spirit of “you have not because you ask not”. . .
Please pray for my living room air conditioner to be “healed” and work throughout this summer and early fall – for as long as I will need it.
Due to a sudden rise in temperature, I had to turn it on today, and it seems to only be doing the Fan mode kind of thing, which does not work strongly enough to battle the heat and high humidity that we will get in the summer. (It’s barely working on this kind of mild day.) My living room is my “base of operations” throughout each day.
(As I have mentioned before, the living room wall with the ac needs major repairing, so putting in a new ac is not an option right now. For all I know, the wall could collapse! And before we can fix my wall, we have to have to have Nightingale’s bathroom repaired and renovated. She did mention to me earlier today that she is planning on what she has to do before that can get going, which is encouraging – but I had counted on all of this being finished by this spring. 😦 )

Hour 3, sitting outside of the ER in beautiful sunshine, waiting to hear if my husband has a kidney stone.
My book is OK. No word on husband.

We were there four hours, he came out feeling much better (on drugs, of course), and then we waited 1/2 or more to get meds–except for the painkiller.
I returned to pick up the painkiller, waited another hour–I don’t know, was it the fact it was a narcotic that took so long?
Anyway, I finished the novel, The World Played Chess over the course of the day.
I’m glad I read it but I accomplished absolutely nothing else for the day–which I needed to spend on two projects due on Sunday and three more on Tuesday.
Thanks for prayers. He’ll be fine.
Me?
Who knows.
