Prayer Requests 4-28-22

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her students, and the people of PNG.

Anyone else?

Psalm 87

Of the Sons of Korah. A psalm. A song.

He has founded his city on the holy mountain.
The Lord loves the gates of Zion
more than all the other dwellings of Jacob.

Glorious things are said of you,
    city of God:
“I will record Rahab and Babylon
    among those who acknowledge me—
Philistia too, and Tyre, along with Cush—
and will say, ‘This one was born in Zion.’”
Indeed, of Zion it will be said,
“This one and that one were born in her,
and the Most High himself will establish her.”
The Lord will write in the register of the peoples:
“This one was born in Zion.”

As they make music they will sing,
“All my fountains are in you.”

  1. (My request from last night, updated.)

Today is a court date for Nightingale and X. He has petitioned the court to end the need for his visits with Boy to be supervised, and for more time with him. He specifically wants 24 hours of unsupervised time each week, which of course would include an overnight.

Please pray that things will go in Nightingale’s favor, which would be for the visits to continue to be supervised, as she does not trust X. But most of all, for God’s will to be done – in this custody case, and in Boy’s life, Nightingale’s life, and X’s life. Thank you.

  2. The little ten-year-old girl was sexually assaulted and killed by someone close to her–a 14-year-old. The immense sadness of this sinful act must seem unbearable to so many. Oh, what Jesus bore on the cross!

We are thankful for sunshine two days in a row and that our lawn is drying out. That our road was able to finally be graded to, at least, be driven without worrying about back issues or the car being broken down. Such small joys, but joy none the less and all good things come from our Lord.

  3. It seems like more and more children are involved in more and more significant crimes. True? Or just more noticeable? Pray for our young people, victims of years of teaching they have no value and can have whatever they want and there are no truths, no right or wrong. And yet, they too have the Truth written in their hearts so are without excuse.

  4. Prayers lifted per your request, Kizzie. Especially I prayed for Nightingale’s salvation.

It is terrible to consider crimes committed by children. A teen shot and killed an eleven year old at a skating rink at 1 a.m. or so here recently. Now the rink is being shut down. One has to ask why were the young out so late? The police department made a statement that it can’t be all on them to reign over/in the young.

I am sorry to hear that horrible news, Kathaleena. I always think how awful it is on the parents to deal with that kind of tragedy. Prayers for them all. I don’t know how God can comfort parents in such situations. I hope they have a good supportive church family.

  5. The judge ordered another study (or whatever the word might be) by the guardian ad litem. That will come in a couple weeks or so. (Nightingale was not clear on the timing, but her lawyer will be sending her an outline of what happened in court.) So the case is on pause right now, and things will continue as they have been unless or until a different ruling is made.

Nightingale does not seem upset by that, but does seem wearied by the whole thing. She had to take a day off of work for this (while X does not work), but was asked to cover a shift Friday night instead, so she won’t lose any income for it.

  6. Please pray for the decision the Supreme Court will make tomorrow regarding the football coach who kneeled and prayed on the field. I think it happened 7 years ago. His wife works in HR for the school system he is in court against so he asked for prayer for her. What stress all these years. Important decision for religious liberty.

  7. Odd how this coach is such a threat to children, making them feel coerced to pray, while convincing them they are in the wrong body and should begin treatment is AOK.
