Prayer Requests 4-25-22

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 84

A psalm.

How lovely is your dwelling place,
    Lord Almighty!
My soul yearns, even faints,
    for the courts of the Lord;
   my heart and my flesh cry out
    for the living God.
Even the sparrow has found a home,
    and the swallow a nest for herself,
    where she may have her young—
   a place near your altar,
    Lord Almighty, my King and my God.
Blessed are those who dwell in your house;
    they are ever praising you.

Blessed are those whose strength is in you,
    whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.
As they pass through the Valley of Baka,
    they make it a place of springs;
    the autumn rains also cover it with pools.
They go from strength to strength,
    till each appears before God in Zion.

Hear my prayer, Lord God Almighty;
    listen to me, God of Jacob.
Look on our shield, O God;
    look with favor on your anointed one.

10 Better is one day in your courts
    than a thousand elsewhere;
   I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
    than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
    the Lord bestows favor and honor;
   no good thing does he withhold
    from those whose walk is blameless.

12 Lord Almighty,
    blessed is the one who trusts in you.

  1. Add my praying to the above. The waiting is so difficult. I try to apply the thought that God is working out His best answers during the waiting time, and I don’t want to rush/push Him because He knows what He needs to do. Prayers for fully trusting in Him during the wait times.

  2. Thanks Mumsee, AJ, Janice and everyone praying. This covid business is such a strange thing. This morning there were a few instances while I was at rest that my lungs felt similar to when I’d finish a run with a fast kick — a little bit of fire-feeling in my chest as I speed toward “the finish line.” Yet with covid I don’t feel at all short of air. How can my lungs feel like they’re burning — mildly, if that makes sense — while enjoying full air capacity as far as I can tell?

    I went down to the mailbox to get some fresh air* and then was bizarrely tempted to run back up the driveway to the house, a craving I often indulge when the driveway isn’t icy, but I shouldn’t be entertaining such a notion with covid in my lungs!!

    You will be relieved to know I didn’t succumb to the temptation to sprint up the grade, but what in the world?!? Like my grandmother used to say about a preposterous thought: “The IDEA!”

    *This sounds like I could say our mail lady kindly delivers fresh air to our mailbox. 😛 Please excuse strange sicktime humor, haha. It’s one of my coping tools.

  3. I am feeling bummed tonight, not being able to attend an important faith event 6th Arrow has tonight. I apologized to her that I couldn’t go because of the covid, and she said that was ok, she understood, but I still feel sad that I can’t be there for her. She’s been struggling in her faith lately, so being there to support her was very important to me, and now I can’t. 😦

  4. I feel sad you must miss that, Six. Understanding is good but does not negate the sadness. Maybe a special watch time later with heart to heart commentary and a delectable dessert afterwards as a makeup with gusto for the missed event? Lemonade pie sounds good for the belated event!

  5. Continued prayer 6. No running allowed! Baby steps!
    Thanks for continued prayer covering for husband. He called last week and while they confirmed the results were in they said they could not disclose the results to him. Only the doctor can do that and that will be next Thursday…..he was rather livid and not happy 🙁…continuing to trust our Lord through it all and His timing

  6. One thing we learned with illness over the past couple years, that husband knew all along, was when feeling tired and air less, get up and move, get the blood pumping! So, I might be tempted to say, make that run!

  7. That is just the thing….we have already paid for the tests and when husband looked into how he could get the results he found that he would need to go into the office and sign a form stating he wanted them. The office is then to give them to the patient in a “timely manner”. His appt will come sooner than their definition of “timely”. He does intend to discuss his frustration of this lack of communication with the doctor…who he happens to like very much.

  8. It will work out, but it is frustrating to think you might be dealing with something significant and they are sitting on the results. But then you could think the doc would call him in earlier if he thought it critical.

  9. Pray for the family of a 10 yr. old whose body was found In WI. She was visiting an aunt and riding home on a bike. Never made it home. Her bike was found right away. Body later. Please pray the person who did this horrible thing will be found. 😦
