Prayer Requests 12-28-21

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 132

A song of ascents.

Lord, remember David
    and all his self-denial.

He swore an oath to the Lord,
he made a vow to the Mighty One of Jacob:
“I will not enter my house
    or go to my bed,
I will allow no sleep to my eyes
    or slumber to my eyelids,
till I find a place for the Lord,
a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.”

We heard it in Ephrathah,
we came upon it in the fields of Jaar:
“Let us go to his dwelling place,
let us worship at his footstool, saying,
‘Arise, Lord, and come to your resting place,
you and the ark of your might.
May your priests be clothed with your righteousness;
may your faithful people sing for joy.’”

10 For the sake of your servant David,
do not reject your anointed one.

11 The Lord swore an oath to David,
a sure oath he will not revoke:
   “One of your own descendants
I will place on your throne.
12 If your sons keep my covenant
and the statutes I teach them,
   then their sons will sit
on your throne for ever and ever.”

13 For the Lord has chosen Zion,
he has desired it for his dwelling, saying,
14 “This is my resting place for ever and ever;
here I will sit enthroned, for I have desired it.
15 I will bless her with abundant provisions;
her poor I will satisfy with food.
16 I will clothe her priests with salvation,
and her faithful people will ever sing for joy.

17 “Here I will make a horn grow for David
and set up a lamp for my anointed one.
18 I will clothe his enemies with shame,
but his head will be adorned with a radiant crown.”

  1. Son’s arrived and one son in law and three dogs.

Today, son is heading off to visit friends, leaving his dogs in their kennels.

His wife and other son are headed off to Lewiston with other son’s older sister and her husband. Leaving his dog? I have not heard.

They are doing marginally well with their dogs. They left them outside last evening, I don’t know how the rabbits are but one old cat has disappeared. They kept them in their rooms at night. But when they brought them in to de ice for an hour, left them in the mud room and coat room. They chewed up some firewood and tore up some outgoing trash. Not too bad, so far.

  2. Daughter feeling better, fever free. Husband coughing but no fever or other symptoms. Older daughter texted and said SIL and grandson both awakened stuffy headed. She tested grandson because he had a birthday party to attend today….he tested positive so he isn’t going anywhere and neither will the rest of their family!

  3. Stuffy head and sneezing; I’ve just won a reprieve from the 4 hour-one-way visit to my sister-in-law’s house tomorrow.

Wearing a mask in the house, family is avoiding me, and I don’t actually feel that bad.

No tests available around here (Sign yesterday at Safeway said, “We have no idea when we’ll get more. Don’t ask.”), so I’ll just ride out the week lounging around at home.

    Not a bad gig.

Time to work on my Bible study! LOL

  4. Prayers for AJ’s family.

Prayer for my cousins who four years ago were dealing with their beautiful 30ish daughter’s suicide. Still sad over that. She was Mimi Kaboom at Hollywood Blvd., Orlando, Disney

Prayer for all those with Covid and other ailments during this holiday time.

  5. Chickadee will finally be coming for a visit tomorrow. (Hoping and praying that her anxiety and depression do not keep her away again.)

I have to admit that I am not as excited as I should be, because I am nervous about how it will go, and nervously wondering if she will seem different to me, or merely the same ole Chickadee, but with a new name.

One thing we had emailed about was what Boy should call her now. She has been Auntie since he could talk. (Not “Auntie Chickadee”, just “Auntie”, period.) She wrote that she had been thinking about it a lot and wasn’t sure what about it, but that the name “Auntie” does have a special place in her heart.

We talked about some odd hybrid nicknames, like “Unckie” ( :-D), but nothing seemed right. Finally, Boy asked if he could just keep calling her Auntie. I passed that by Chickadee, and she said that that was fine with her. Boy was relieved and happy.

So anyway, please pray that tomorrow’s visit will go well, and that we will reconnect, so to speak. I am also praying that the Holy Spirit will speak to her even merely by being in my presence, as her mother. (That may sound odd, but I know what I mean. 🙂 )

  6. Son asked me to get a COVID test. None available. Found an appointment for tomorrow; answer in 1-3 days, he may be grounded from seeing friends on Friday and flying home on Saturday.

  7. We have heard back! They won’t help us find a placement but gave us a list of seventy or so places in Idaho. I am to contact each of them until I find a match. Oh, and there are no beds available as there is a nation wide shortage. But I know Who can find one if He wants her moved to a place. Pray with me that we find the place or be given the patience to deal with her.
