  1. So this is the response one can expect from their Congressman in CO….oh well…let’s just do nothing…ok…. 😡
And I have always supported Doug…from the time he was my State rep…he has been proactive concerning many issues I have had concern over…but it would seem he is more interested in keeping the SpaceForce in Colorado Springs than joining with others in giving push back in DC….

    Dear Ms. Smith,

Thank you for contacting me with your opinions on impeaching Joe Biden. While i believe Biden is not capable of being President, the Democrats are ion the majority in Congress and ultimately decide what is brought to the House floor for a vote.

  2. For those who may have missed this (I posted it kind of late last night on yesterday’s news thread):

Some good news: That video that seemed to show the Taliban hanging a man from a helicopter was not what it seemed.

“Firstly, an Afghan journalist, Bilal Sarwary, claimed to have personally known the pilot of the helicopter, and confirmed via Twitter that the man was being held by a harness, and was attempting – unsuccessfully – to install a Taliban flag upon some installation.”

He was also seen waving to some people.

Interestingly, I felt a slight check in my spirit when I was thinking of mentioning that to Nightingale (to not do so). Then the thought came to me that reminded me that these videos are often not what they are purported to be, and that I should look into it first. (But before I even got around to that, I came across this link on Facebook.)

  3. NJ, Mr. Lambourn’s response does seem weak. But what would you suggest that he and other congressmen do? Impeachment is not a real option until the House is in Republican hands, or until things get so much worse that a bunch of Democrats get on board. Pelosi won’t bring articles of impeachment to a vote.

Not to say they should do nothing, I’m just not sure what they can do.

  4. I love it.

As if a terrorist hanging a terrorist flag from a US chopper is somehow supposed to be markedly better?

I love how they “fact checked” something like that with the Taliban too, because we know they’d be honest.

Talk about jumping the shark….. 🙄

  5. “At Least 24 Sacramento Students, 3-Year-Old Boy Stranded in Afghanistan”

    https://legalinsurrection.com/2021/08/at-least-24-sacramento-students-3-year-old-boy-stranded-in-afghanistan/

“The San Juan Unified school district in Sacramento, California, confirmed at least 24 students are still stranded in Afghanistan. This is down from the 150 the district discovered were in the country after the students kept missing school.

ABC7 San Francisco also reported a 3-year-old boy is still in Afghanistan with his family. They are also residents of Sacramento.

    We Left Behind Small Children
The toddler has an American passport. His family members are permanent U.S. residents.

California Rep. Jackie Speier and her staff tried to help the family out of Afghanistan. She provided a letter that gave the family permission to safely pass through the Kabul airport and come home.

    That did not happen:

Armed with that letter, the boy, his father and several other family members approached the airport, but the Taliban attacked.
Brown said, “And they were stopped by a Taliban checkpoint, and they received physical beatings at the gate and they were pushed back where they had to flee and return to a safe house.”

ABC Bay Area learned the family and the boy decided to make a move after meeting with other Americans who want to leave Afghanistan “without the normal channels of the U.S. government, in the chaos that we left behind.”

  6. Maybe someone can find a “fact check” that this nightmare isn’t real either.

“Taliban commit ‘house-to-house executions’ in Kabul after US exit as chilling audio demonstrates Afghans’ fear”

Maybe tell us that’s not gunfire we hear, but celebratory fireworks…..

  7. Next the “fact checkers” will tell us we just misunderstood him….

    “BIDEN: Mr. President. Joe Biden.

GHANI: Of course, Mr. President, such a pleasure to hear your voice.

BIDEN: You know, I am a moment late. But I mean it sincerely. Hey look, I want to make it clear that I am not a military man any more than you are, but I have been meeting with our Pentagon folks, and our national security people, as you have with ours and yours, and as you know and I need not tell you the perception around the world and in parts of Afghanistan, I believe, is that things aren’t going well in terms of the fight against the Taliban.

And there’s a need, whether it is true or not, there is a need to project a different picture.”

    So lie, right Joe?

  8. AJ – The man was observed waving at people. And yes, “a terrorist hanging a terrorist flag from a US chopper” is indeed markedly better than a man being executed by hanging that way.

The man quoted is an Afghan journalist, and there is also a still photo of the man waving.

Right, so he’d have no reason to lie (unless he wants to stay alive) for the Taliban either, right?

Also, when swinging from a rope at 300 feet moving at speed, the body wouldn’t move, right?

You know what I think of the vast majority of fact checkers, so don’t bother, those were rhetorical questions….

  11. This clip is longer and shows the man moving in ways that seem deliberate, not merely blowing around in the wind. Also, you can see that he is attached by something on his back, not by the neck.

  12. Was anyone else puzzled that 24 Sacramento public school students would be in Afghanistan at all? What, a summer field trip to Afghanistan?

Reading the full article made sense of it. The district has many students from Afghan families who might have been visiting extended families during summer break.

Tragic that they’re stuck there, though, and what happened to the family of the 3-year-old. Smh.

  13. No, I figured it was what it was. Headlines are not always helpful. We have a lot of Americans in this country that hail from elsewhere and they often go back to visit family. Personally, I would have been hesitant to go there, knowing the US had plans to pull up and a very weak to incompetent President.

  14. Kevin I guess I just wanted him to extend some sort of unity with others in Congress…to demand an accounting for the idiocy that is taking place with Biden and his cohorts. It is clear they lie, evade, flat out do not answer for what they are doing. I had asked him why he was not joining with Marjorie Taylor Greene, and even Lindsey Graham. It just seems to me that my Congressman is resting on his retirement future…and he is doing nothing to stand against what is happening right now. I know I am frustrated but his response was just milk toast and whimpy…
