Prayer Requests 8-25-21

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget Ajissun and the folks in The Gambia.

Anyone else?

Psalm 23

A psalm of David.

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
   he leads me beside quiet waters,
he refreshes my soul.
   He guides me along the right paths
    for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk
    through the darkest valley,
   I will fear no evil,
    for you are with me;
   your rod and your staff,
    they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
    in the presence of my enemies.
   You anoint my head with oil;
    my cup overflows.
Surely your goodness and love will follow me
    all the days of my life,
   and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
    forever.

  1. A while back we had an agent and an admin from a real estate team leave and open their own company. They left under terrific terms. The admin/coach Bobbi is one of the nicest ladies you would ever want to meet. She has been in the hospital with Covid since Saturday August 14. She has been on a ventilator since the 15th and in ICU. Last night there was a request on FB to light an candle and pray for her. She is receiving 100% oxygen and is in a medically induced coma. My Own Person Respiratory Therapist/Corpsman told me that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. They could have done it to give her body a chance to heal and not struggle.
    While Mr. P was in the hospital when he had it, I never was afraid anything would happen to him. While I have known of people/acquaintances/and relatives of friends who have died from Covid, this one is a little closer. She is close to my age. She has been someone I can turn to for advice and she has done the same with me. When I say she is one of the nicest, sweetest people I know…it’s the TRUTH.
    Please pray for her today and for those who deeply love her. This one hurts in a way I can’t describe. Maybe it makes we face my own mortality.

  2. Please pray for Bill and his wife Thea and their children. Bill has been fighting Covid and is not expected to make it. He and his wife helped me years ago when I was able to call them after my daughter informed me she had called an ambulance for herself. I was a thousand miles away and knew Bill and Thea from visiting the church my daughter attended. They went to get my grandson from the hospital my daughter and he were brought to by the ambulance. They have been good friends through the years although they do not live close together anymore.

  3. Praying, Kim and Kathaleena.

    Kim, I understand your last sentence, I lost two good friends this past year who were contemporaries — it is very different from losing someone in the “older” generation from where you are.
