It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.

Psalm 17

A prayer of David.

1 Hear me, Lord, my plea is just;
    listen to my cry.
   Hear my prayer—
    it does not rise from deceitful lips.
2 Let my vindication come from you;
    may your eyes see what is right.

3 Though you probe my heart,
    though you examine me at night and test me,
   you will find that I have planned no evil;
    my mouth has not transgressed.
4 Though people tried to bribe me,
    I have kept myself from the ways of the violent
    through what your lips have commanded.
5 My steps have held to your paths;
    my feet have not stumbled.

6 I call on you, my God, for you will answer me;
    turn your ear to me and hear my prayer.
7 Show me the wonders of your great love,
    you who save by your right hand
    those who take refuge in you from their foes.
8 Keep me as the apple of your eye;
    hide me in the shadow of your wings
9 from the wicked who are out to destroy me,
    from my mortal enemies who surround me.

10 They close up their callous hearts,
    and their mouths speak with arrogance.
11 They have tracked me down, they now surround me,
    with eyes alert, to throw me to the ground.
12 They are like a lion hungry for prey,
    like a fierce lion crouching in cover.

13 Rise up, Lord, confront them, bring them down;
    with your sword rescue me from the wicked.
14 By your hand save me from such people, Lord,
    from those of this world whose reward is in this life.
   May what you have stored up for the wicked fill their bellies;
    may their children gorge themselves on it,
    and may there be leftovers for their little ones.

15 As for me, I will be vindicated and will see your face;
    when I awake, I will be satisfied with seeing your likeness.

May God again raise you up from burnout, lift your head to gaze upon Jesus and make you dwell in His loving presence knowing that despite the traumas and troubles swirling all around us, He takes the burdens, lightens our loads, and gives us rest. May you experience His true peace today. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen

  5. Prayer for son. He drove up today (hour plus here and then again back) after saying driving seemed to hurt his neck yesterday. He contacted us concerned as his headache was much worse and the pain was as well. I told him to get somebody to take him to the hospital. None of his friends locally are available so Mike was in the car to head down. Then son said he had tingling in his hand. I told him to call the ambulance. I don’t know if he has done something to aggravate the fracture (maybe take the brace off because it was itchy?) or he is just hungry from trying to lose weight. But God knows and hears prayers.

  6. Lord, You know what the problem and remedy is. If it is a true emergency situation, please may he quickly receive treatment. I ask that he can heal up quickly and do nothing that would delay healing. Thank You for providing whatever level of protection he needs. May he draw closer to you and learn important lessons through this ordeal. Please keep those who care for him steady in trust that You will see him through to better days. Thank You, also, for the many small and great efforts that Mumsee and Mike have made over the years to help You raise special children up to know Jesus as Lord. Thank You for the many rewards that await them in heaven. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen

  7. He is fine. Just some muscle spasms that he might have avoided had he listened to his mother when she said, “you might want some Ibuprofen to stay ahead of the pain” but what do moms know? The doc has prescribed some muscle relaxant and husband took him to get it filled then to his camper.
