Prayer Requests 4-6-21

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 54

Save me, O God, by your name;
    vindicate me by your might.
Hear my prayer, O God;
    listen to the words of my mouth.

Arrogant foes are attacking me;
    ruthless people are trying to kill me—
    people without regard for God.

Surely God is my help;
    the Lord is the one who sustains me.

Let evil recoil on those who slander me;
    in your faithfulness destroy them.

I will sacrifice a freewill offering to you;
    I will praise your name, Lord, for it is good.
You have delivered me from all my troubles,
    and my eyes have looked in triumph on my foes.

  1. Updates on recent prayer requests:

    My mother-in-law has been given a few days to live. Family opted to have her released from the hospital to die at home. Staff disconnected her last night from everything she was hooked up to, and she’ll be transported home via ambulance this morning, assuming she survived the night. (We haven’t heard otherwise, and hubby is on his way, or probably already is there, to the hospital now.)

    Please remember hubby and his siblings in your prayers; they buried their sister late last summer.

    Minor in comparison: my test result concerning the pain and rash that started last week has come back negative for shingles. We don’t really know what caused either, but I have a follow-up visit scheduled for next week. The pain might be an overuse injury, and the rash possibly insect-related or a food allergy (??).

    And one small request: that my headache would go away. I developed a migraine with nausea last evening around 6:00pm, when I still had two hours of piano lessons yet to teach. It was only by the grace of God that I was able to teach those last four lessons and then drive home afterwards without running to the bathroom or pulling over somewhere to throw up. I don’t have nausea today, and the headache pain is less, so I’m hoping it will be done soon.

    Oh, one other thing: I heard last night that the piano tuner I’ve had ever since I bought my first piano in 1989 passed away in January. Died of a heart attack right around his 72nd birthday. A friendly fellow I will miss.

  2. Praying Six.

    Praying also for Debra and family.

    And for Kare reintegrating into home life after her weeks with the twins and for the twin and their parents to manage without her for a while.

  3. I can”t “LIKE” so?
    I have to say I’m praying too.
    (I hate having to type that out each time. Sometimes I don’t. But pray anyhow.)
    You people are important to me. I have Chuck and his family, but you’d be surprised to know how important Elvera was to me. Just knowing she was there.

  4. Thank you, Six, for re-posting my request. I’m out of it a little more than usual. Thank you all for the continued prayers. I think we’re on the back side of this.

  5. You’re welcome, Debra. 🙂 Thankful things look to be resolving. Continued prayers for a full recovery for you and yours.

    Update 2: Now MIL is sitting up in a hospital chair, chatting(!) as she waits for a bed to be delivered and for her ride back home. I think she just wants to get out of that place. 🙂 Keep praying! Thanks!

  6. Chas – I am not surprised at all how important Elvera was (and is) to you, and I’m sure our other Wanderers are not surprised, either. You have written beautifully about her throughout the years, and we will all remember her as TSWITW. 🙂
